the parties to say they are prepared to continue negotiations through the night. >> we will keep bargaining until we get a deal. >> the tone from bart management is subdued and critical of the unions releasing two statements one apologizing for the unions waiting until the middle of night to let riders know if the trains are running and another announcing they will operate normal schedule today. >> thank you, matt. >> here is leyla gulen. >> what we have is a problem on the bart fremont line richmond direction with 23 if not 25 lines running and 15-minute delays in the richmond direction

because of equipment malfunction. now the waze app, we have a problem in the westbound direction and you can see the incident was reported at the parkway blocking at least one lane with heavy backup bumper to bumper and when you get beyond that, it is at top speed. you can go to apple app and google play and join our group and you can get around the slowing easier with that help. the drive across the bridge from hayward to foster city, a few extra tail lights but quiet and we are accident free across to the peninsula, so no problems out there. we will look at the forecast. mike? >> thank you very much, leyla gulen, with the traffic. seven miles is our low of the visibility and that is at santa rosa and everyone is unlimited on live doppler 7 hd, with the dry air and lack of clouds and

we have been talking to people who are changing their sleep patterns so they can find out how they are getting to work each day. i went to bed at 10:00 and i woke up at 2:00 and i turn on my phone and...you know, got the good news and i said, wow, they are not striking. that is good. i don't have to drive. >> she says she hates driving to the city. other people say they don't have that as an option, they are not sure what though would do without bart. we talked to a woman who says she is over it. she is ready for a deal, he is ready for life to return to normal. today could be that day. they did not set a strike dead line, the first time we have seen that happen. riders could see their pain come to an end and could get a full night's sleep but who knows, we will keep you posted.

bart riders waited for word. >> at the request of the federal mediation service and because of all of our concerns of the public interest, i am authorized to announce trains will run tomorrow. >> he said the bargaining overnight has been constructive and productive and leaders say they will keep bargaining until a deal is done. we have seen a couple of people leave the building. i asked one if talks were still ongoing and he nodded "yes," and some are leashing and will return for more talks this morning. >> what does that mean on the streets and freeways in leyla gulen? >> everyone is waiting. we will not have that bart strike, hopefully, and we are wondering if there is a transit strike. we will know by thursday if that is going to happen. so far we will take this:

>> adding to the fears of a crippling strike, a.c. transit bruce drivers could walk off the job on thursday. the bus agency played a critical role when bart went on strike in july. our reporter is in oakland. nick? >> the people who depend on buses the most will be these who be most impacted. that is because some choose buses as a lifestyle choice and others choose it as a way to get in and around the county. a.c. transit is a headache for thousands if they were to stop rolling. on monday, they submitted a 72-hour notice of a strike for thursday if a deal was not reached before then, whereas a strike is never con veteran cent the tomorrowing is particularly bad because it could mean a double start if a deal between bart management and unions is not reached. the transit union whichent ares bus drivers and mechanics and dispatchers says it is the

district's move. they are more concerned about security. >> we have more sheriffs visible or they have more sheriffs that are giving a reduced response time. >> it is one thing after another. >> their decision to strike came as a surprise because the bus line and the unions had two agreements after the contract expired in june. bus drivers in other unions rejected the deals. a.c. transit provided a critical link in the first week of july carrying more than 1,000 people each day and was expected to pick up most of the weight of dismissed riders during a bart shut down. what we do not know is whether or not that bart strike will happen. if that bart strike happens and the a.c. transit strike happens, we are talking about up to 400,000 commuters that could be

displaced. in oakland, for abc7 news. >> thank you. the city of livermore is moving forward with a new law to crack down on drug houses in rental properties. our media partner, the "contra costa times" reported they have voted in favor of the ordinants classifying illegal drug sales, storage and manufacturing as public nuisance. it gives the city authority to pursue legal action against landlord whose look the other way and refuse to address the activity. the council will make a decision on the ordinance at the october 28 meeting. >> bart has run out of the midnight oil so what we have, though, speaking of bart, we have 40 trains running on time and we have a couple of delays, one delay on the fremont lane in the richmond direction and a delay on the richmond line in the fremont direction. we are tracking those and that

is due to maintenance problems. we are also tracking a sig-alert if you are out of tracy to the altamont pass, we do have one lane still taken away, a sig-alert, westbound 205 with minor injuries and backups from before tracy and eight miles per hour is the top speed. this is what it is doing to the commute, one hour to get you from tracy to dublin along highway four the ride is building at 23 minutes and 101 is looking clear through marin county and a look outside, here is the bay bridge tolls we have cash-paying lanes loaded up but the traffic is moving smoothly. mike? >> good morning to you, north bay, we start with your current conditions. 40 in guerneville and 41 in petaluma. american canyon is coolest at 39. the warm spot is bodega bay at 61. san rafael is 53. through sausalito, about 52.
