with that story. jonathan? >> well, near downtown oakland transit riders are staring at the worst case scenario. two transit strikes they that could paralyze the east bay. word of a possible strike caught some off guard. >> ac transit says they might go on strike wednesday night. >> that could be a catastrophe, man. >> if bart goes out and we're out it would be catastrophic. >> reporter: ac transit was blind sided. the agency writing the governor asking him to delay the strike while investigating possibility of a 60 day cooling off period. >> we'd tell the governor is that a strike would severely impact live in the bay area was' know it. >> people trying to get to work, people trying to get to school. it's just going to be all bad. >> then, i can't get to work.

the supreme court today rejected governor brown's appeal in the state's prison overcrowding case leaving state under federal court order to reduce prison population by nearly 10,000 inmates to improve medical treatment. the governor's office will try to persuade a lower court to stop releases of prisoners. police in truckee warning people to lock their cars and roll up windows and take a look. this is why. bears can open unlocked car doors then become trapped inside. police couldn't find the owner they had to smash the window to set the bear free this, is the third time in two weeks the bear has become stuck in this manner. >> tight squeezes. >> yes. >> get ready to squeeze in a little bit more on your plane. air lines slimming down
