as bart riders express frustration with how long it is taking for the negotiations. >> union negotiators in the federal mediator runed for more bargaining after another session ended in the early hours of the morning. neither side is saying anything specific. the negotiators say they are optimistic. they are not taking the possibility of a strike off the table. >> we will do everything we can to avert a strike. that doesn't mean we are not ready for a strike. that doesn't mean we are not able to pull off work action. we don't want to. we will stay here and go through this process with the federal mediation service and hope that both parties can achieve a deal. >> the teams were not the only ones up late. it wasn't until after 10:00 that riders found out there is no strike. if in deal is reached today, another night of uncertainty lies ahead. >> obnoxious not knowing what i will be doing in the morning, whether i have to drive in or wake up early to drive or be able to take bart the.

and even drop off young children. >> i have built my life around this system. because of this system i am able to be fully contributing tax-paying system. that is not something that can be a reality for people with disabilities like mine. i take the bart from berkeley to san francisco and i need it to be independent and on my only. >> the rally organizers support bart workers and acknowledge the cutbacks the workers are dealing with and have seen him in the staff and things they use the most, for example, the elevators. though can tell they are not maintained so well. for people with disabilities driving is not an opening and to take a bus the road could be as long as two times longer than what it is with bart. the overall message from the disabled community is, please, don't do this. we need you. this group needs bart maybe more

than anyone else. >> thank you. to add to the headaches for commuters, a.c. transit workers could strike at midnight. they say they are reaching out to unions today for a face-to-face meeting but nothing is scheduled. 1,600 bus drivers and other employee could walk off tomorrow without a contract deal. talks are stalled over employee contributions to the health insurance. the agency is hoping that the governor will issue a cooling-off period. so far, no word on that. >> now, if there is a bart strike, bart plans to run 200 buses from nine stations: el cerrito, concord, lafayette, walnut creek, west oakland, san leandro, hayward and fremont. you need a round-trip ticket in advance. car pooling on 80, 880, and 680 are extended from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and c.h.p. officers will not write tickets out of regular car pool hours in also there is a strike.

why their house caught on fire overnight and triggered their cars to explode dramatically. it was caught on video. abc7 news reporter, amy hollyfield, is on the scene. amy? >> the homeowner had a surveillance video. he gave the footage to firefighters the it shows the fires started on the side of the home where there was a pile of oily rags that he recently had been using. it shows that fire burned for a while. it saturdayed at 1:30 this morning. it raged for 13 minutes before the family of they sleeping inside woke up to noises coming from the garage. >> the family was lucky and they did a good job of getting out. an 11-year-old and her parents escaped and rank the doorbell of the neighbor across the street. i saw directly across the street 9 whole house locked to be engulfed in flames. the house and the two cars in the drive, all on fire.

of the fire doesn't look suspicious and the homeowner says he had a pile of rags with oil he used for taping his deck and that fire officials told him they likely combusted and started this fire. >> happening now on the peninsula, pg&e is venting natural gas in the same neighborhood devastated by an explosion that claimed eight lives three years ago. crews are working on a pipeline. they are warning that there could be a gas odor in the area during the process. crews expect to finish by 1:00 o'clock this afternoon. pg&e says this is normal upkeep on a distribution line which is not so large as a transmission line. that was the source of the explosion in 2010. >> happening today, pg&e is headed back do court over the natural gas pipeline that runs under can -- san carlos.

>> yes. >> the father of the 12-year-old accused in the case admits he should have been more vigilant. >> a law school graduate is scheduled for sentencing for be-heading an exotic bird in los angeles. the 25-year-old pleaded guilty to killing a bird last year during a drunken chase at the flamingo hotel and is facing six months in boot camp. two other berkeley students involved in the crime pleaded guilty to misdemeanors and were fined and sentenced to community service. >> when he is out of prison in a couple of weeks, dr. murray or michael jackson's personal physician, he wants to problem advertise medicine again. he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of michael jackson and was sentenced to serve four years. according to tmz, he plans to fight revoking of his license in texas and california although the proceedings are on hold in this state. he claims he was targeted because michael jackson was so

selection on our weather, the big area of low pressure to the east and high pressure on the other side over the top of us and you can see on live doppler 7 hd it is showing how dry we are, no radar returns, no clouds right now, and as you look at our winds, notice half moon bay, oakland and hayward, they are blowing more onshore, and the breezes relaxing a little bit and that is why temperatures are not so robust as they have been but they still very nice. we are already in the 70's in antioch and half moon bay and everyone else in the mid-to-upper 60's. way off in the dance you can see the high clouds and the system that is bringing us a few high clouds, sunshine and minimal cooling trend. it will move on out, just in time for a sunny, warm, and dry week, but, still, seven days without rain in the forecast. here is how it looks in san jose, beautiful sunshine over downtown, make sure you have your sunglasses.

24 hour temperature change, notice i said it would be minimum, about one to five degrees at the most. so here is what is happening. the clipper system or short wave, is a quick moving cold front with limited moisture, strong enough to push the high out of the way and weaken our offshore flow and our temperatures are dropping but 78 in san jose, warmer-than-average for this time of year and 80 in los altos and los gatos as you head up the peninsula, 74 for the cool spot and long the coast, low-to-mid 70's into downtown and south san francisco and sausalito and near 80 in the valleys and near 70 in the beaches and upper 70's near 80 loan the east bay shore and to the east bay develop. here is the seven-day forecast, we will see dips, and minor increases, but it looks like it is going to be dry all seven days. the coast will see the biggest cooling on sunday, monday, and tuesday. it is gorgeous. hope you get a chance to enjoy it. >> the sacramento mom is
