6:00 shut down surprise people who came halfway around the world only to see their dream trips he vap wait. >> parents of two children taken by a car thief last night just spoke to abc 7 news. a neighbor discovered the volkswagon suv blocking his driveway in the bay view around 6:30 last night. the thief left the engine running. two children, aged one and three were fine they were strapped into their seats. a woman stole the suv after the mother stepped out just a moment. >> she didn't stop. i got hit by the car and thrown on to the hood. i fall off. >> i'm grateful that through that i had a feeling it's going to be okay. >> the san francisco police have not made any arrests in this case. doctors confirm the children were not harmed. >> imagine how frightening. >> city college of san francisco one of the largest community colleges in the country has a new chancellor

tonight. he saided -- headed up several colleges. the troubled university is currently trying to keep accreditation. >> reporter: this is at a.pointment seen that city college trying to get things back to normal. >> yes, we will get accreditation done. we'll find a way to continue to be the best economic engine for this city and the surrounding region. >> reporter: city college will lose accreditation next july unless able to make financial and man gear yil changes. all of chr being worked on for example, the college recently hired a firm to try to collect money from students who haven't paid. >> to take a look at student >> reporter: tileler worked at

tonight damage to an enzblin a plane forced to make a landing in oakland is consis stwent a bird strike. it happened this morning. once in the air the crew made an emergency landing in oakland. passengers and crew transferred to another flight and then, took off. for hawaii. police say a man arrested in the dry ice explosions at los angeles international airport considers himself a prankster. the 28-year-old says it was a joke. one device exploded sunday, another, monday night. he works for a contractor cleaning planes at the airport. he's being held on $1 million bail. >> an east bay city taking community support to another level because of a 2-year-old zbirl a fight for live. ahead a story about lifting spirits. >> a fire in the east bay.

deck and had left those rags near his garage. a young girl is battling a brain tumor, she and her family are getting support not just from friends but also, strangers. >> reporter: marley's daughter was a lively 2 and a half year old until last month. these are his photos. she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, now undergoing chemotherapy. the family is not coping alone. >> delaney didn't have a choice to get her head shaven. very a choice. >> this is one of the things that delaney's family is helping lift their spirits. firefighters are losing their locks. her father has been part of the crew here for eight years. >> it's to show that little

web site abc 7 news.com. a recent graduate of uc berkeley law school is in prison boot camp after being sentenced for beheading an exotic bird. he was sentenced to "time" at the nevada boot camp. he and two other students captured on surveillance video drunkenly chasing a bird last year at flamingo hotel. the other students pleaded guilty to misdemeanors and were fined and sentenced to community service. police arrested two people they say used counterfeit money in morgan hill. officers picked up the two a target store, police say they tried to use a fake $100 bill there. just last week a new $100 bill released with new features making it harder to counterfeit. >> it's all systems go for a

new huge space ship like apple campus in cupertino. the campus planned near 280. the city council votedded to approve the project. it's estimated the cost will run about $5 billion. this campus will include 3.5 million square feet of office space, with a fitness center. city council takes one vote next month and it should be finished in 2016. >> thousands of unemployed california workers may not get their benefit checks because of a computer problem. >> now, lawmakers want to do something about it. i received dozens of calls about thchl we got a hold of officials and this state officials heard from workers, too. well, today, some lawmakers

a cooling trend. take a look at the temperature trend for san jose, it's flat. not a lot of change but next week those numbers coming down into upper 70s range. tomorrow morning another chilly one. mid to upper 30s into our coldest valleys. 40s, 50s across the bay area and south bay, 78 san jose. on the peninsula, 78 redwood city, mountain view. it's still looking good. downtown san francisco, 74 degrees a great day to walk the dog. if you're not, you stril enough daylight to get out there. north bay, 79 santa rosa and sonoma. east bay communities down a few degrees. 77 oakland. inland spots mild, 80s in fairfield. still running where we should be for this time of the year. temperatures will start to slip away.
