what's going with the weather? lee glasser is tracking doppler hd. . >> we are learning more today about the moments of panic and fear at lax. the suspect accused of opening fire inside the airport left a note describing his motivation. hello. we begin with new details in the shooting at lax. terminal three where the shooting happened just reopened a few hours ago around 1:00. there now increased police on watch at the airport curb at los angeles international. the suspect, paul ciancia is in critical condition. he suffered wounds to the legs and head making it difficult for investigators to get information from him. abc news reporter has more from

los angeles. >> lax is returning to normal. >> the question remains. why did he do it? police say 23-year-old paul ciancia brought a rifle and 100 rounds of ammunition to los angeles airport. this tmz video shows frantic passengers freeing terminal 3. they say he pulled the rifle from his back and opened fire at a security check point. one officer was killed and two others wounded. >> one guy. a single man with a gun demonstrated the worst of human nature. >> those who could ran. others huddled in the bathroom stalls. >> i was scared that maybe he was going to come towards me and my husband. >> police stepped in, shooting him four times before taking him into custody. law enforcement sources said he carried a note expressing anger and frustration at the tsa. the slain officer, 39-year-old gerardo hernandez is the first

in tsa history to die in the line of duty. the father of two was always watching out for others and worried for them when his own home was robbed. >> he said be careful because people came in my house and got all kinds of stuff. i was told you have kids of him. it was nice of him. >> his brother indicated he received a text that he might do harm to himself. they spoke to his roommate and reported back that everything appears to be okay. abc news, los angeles. >> flight delays and cancellations continue. here in the bay area eight arriving plights were canceled. more than 1500 flights were affected by the shooting and investigation impacting 250,000 passengers so far. passengers flying 2 los angeles may experience delays and should

check flight status before heading to the airport. a new details about the shooting suspect. 23-year-old paul ciancia. an unemployed motorcycle mechanic who moved to l.a. less than two years ago and carried at least five full 30-round magazines of ammunition and dressed in fatigues. he had a one-page handwritten note that said he wanted to kill tsa employees and pigs. the notes referred to how he believed his constitutional rights were being violated by searches and he was upset at former homeland security secretary janet thnapolitano. you can download the ap for free at abc 7 news.com. >> the shooting is making this weekend's gun show more controversial at the cow palace. this is the first since governor brown vetoed the bill that would have banned all gun shows at the

venue. they were glad today's show was allowed. >> ammunition is limited and reloading is a hobby for me. it's fun. as well as shooting. i target shoot and practice. it's a fun hobby. >> i love these gun shows. every time they have them here i come up and support and buy ammunition. i target practice a lot. it's important for them to have different types of guns around and stuff. >> organizers say gun shows generate about $1 million across the state. >> in other news, the labor dispute between bart and the two largest unions is officially over. the offers meat by bart societies as they receive a 15.4% increase and there will be opportunities for bonuses of up to $1,000. for the first time they will have to contribute to pensions and pay more for medical insurance and they have safer

working conditions. the president said the tough negotiations has affected their relationship with management. >> the relationship has been severely strained. in some cases broken. that's tough. it's going to be very hard. this is my seventh contract and there is always a sort of disagreement. it goes on that this is by far the worst i have seen. >> brian said acu members improved by a significant members and 80% approved it. bart management said the deem stream lines cost. >> it allows us to better control our scheduling and our attendance at bart and overtime cost and make changes to the equipment and technology to run a better bart, something we haven't been able to do in a long time. >> negotiations began in april. there were two strikes in the process. parts of the bay area are under

wind advisory and we had lie level fog out there. take a look at the camera out towards san francisco. the bay bridge is shroud in the thick blanket of fog. lee blasser joins us with an update on the wind and fog. >> let's look at live doppler with a very weak cold front making its way from north to south. we have an increase in moisture out there. low clouds and fog and high clouds that have continued to move across the bay area today. we will be on the back side of this front tonight and that's when the wind advisory goes into play. they begin tonight at 11:00 and runs through 7:00 monday. we can experience 45 to 50 miles per hour mainly the tier terrain and north bay mountains and east bay hills as well as santa mountains and possibility of downed tree says and power lines. surface winds starting to pick

up out of the north. novato up to 22 miles per hour. you see that santa rosa is updated to a gust of 22 and 38 in napa and the higher elevations over those mountain tops, we do have gusts to 15. gusts to 18 and 22 mile per hour gusts. we will see big changes tomorrow and take a look at the seven-day forecast coming up. >> lee, thank you. the thick fog and terrain hampered efforts on san francisco's twin peeks. this is video you will see only on abc 7 news. reported just before 10:00 next to laguna honda hospital. the flame burned just 100 feet away from dozens of apartments. firefighters managed to put it out before buildings were damaged. >> we go around the corner there and flame were going up and they were huge.

it's scary. the city was thick flame. >> a firefighter had a minor injury. the san francisco beekeeper's association keeps the calling in the area. it was not damaged by the fire. >> happening now, friends and family of a santa rosa teen who died after being shot by a sheriff's deputy are gathering to say thank you to the community for support. 13-year-old andy lopez was shot while holding a gun that looked like an ak-47 and it was a toy gun. cornell bernard is live in santaa with more on the gathering. cornell? >> reporter: the neighborhood gathering is just getting under way on this vacant lot. this is where of course sandy lopez was shot and killed. this is a pot lick and we are told everyone is invited. thank you to the community for support during a difficult time. donations to the family are welcome. meantime, memorial for andy

lopez continues to grow and many bring flowers and candles. lopez was killed october 22nd shot by sheriffs deputy eric gale house who believed he was carrying an assault rifle that turned out boob a bb gun. police say he fired on the teen after he was ordered to drop the gun and did not. organizers hope it's a chance for the community to heal. >> you come and be with the family and support them for the loss. >> i just wanted to show my support for the family. hope that some changes are made. >> the lopez family has just arrived here. we can come back out live and just arrived and paying respects at their son's shrine that has been set up here. an investigation by the santa

rosa police and on monday the lopez family will file a lawsuit in district court contenting that he was shot without reasonable cause. >> a man has been shot in oakland. a media partner reports that the 31-year-old man is in critical condition. it started on piedmont avenue. a gunman takes the victim where he was shot in front of a kaiser hospital building. the search for the gunman continues today. last saturday a man was shot and wounded as he was leaving the same bar. >> now we are going to an fbi news conference on the shooting

at lax. >> the support of the complaint which describes the fatal shooting of an on duty tsa officer and the wounding of two uniformed on duty tsa employees when the passenger all of whom sustained gunshot wounds. specifically we allege that at approximately 9:20 a.m., the defendant entered terminal and approached the tsa check point. he is alleged to have pulled a smith and wesson mp 15 assault rifle out of his bag and multiple rounds. standing on duty and in uniform, severely wounding officer hernandez. then alleged to have begun walking away from the wounded tsa officer going up an escalator and then coming back

south of us, higher pressure has been set up and that will generate strong winds developing tonight. mainly the higher terrain and already the surface winds will pick up with gusts in the north bay over 20 miles per hour. check out napa to 38. we have gusts to 32. sfo. not so bad right now for the livermore valley area with the same winds at 10 miles per hour. the winds will pick up when advisories beginning at 11:00 tonight stays in place until monday morning. mainly the higher elevations is where we will see the highest impact with gusts anywhere from 45 to 55 miles per hour and north bay and east bay hills and diablo range and santa cruz mountains. there could be the possibility of downed trees as well as power lines. we will keep that in check for you. the tower cam showing you the high clouds over the bay area. 58 in san francisco.

74 degrees and half moon bay and east bay came for mount diablo. concord is 73 degrees. here is a look even in san jose from the high clouds as well. here's a look at the forecast highs. time to fall back. set the clock back an hour and it's cool and breezy for sunday. we go back to standard time. it's a good idea to set the clocks back one hour. here is the k0e8d front making its way across the bay area. once this moves through, high pressure will set up and that is definitely what will bring us gusty winds out of the north. throughout the night, the front pushes towards the south and by tomorrow afternoon the winds will really start to pick up and cooler air will settle in behind

the cold front. overnight lows generally in the upper 30s to low 40s in the north bay. elsewhere we look for windy conditions and temperatures in the mid- to upper 40s highs tomorrow with the wind and also some of the cloud cover and cooler air mass moving south. only really the 60s. mid- to upper 50s at the coast. 58 degrees and 56 for santa rosa. oakland 55. 58 for livermore and we will continue with the high and mid-level clouds around the way area. the next few days, the seven-day forecast you can see for yourself that we will start to warm up slightly as we head to monday and tuesday and wednesday back into the low 70s inland. 60s around the bay. thursday a slight chance of showers. check out the temperatures by next friday. they take a dive. only mid 50s at the coast and low 60s inland.

the bay area bringing a cooler air mass and the high clouds. take i look thea the wind gusts right now and mainly higher elevations. the winds are the same at 10 miles per hour. check out the gusts. novato is 22 and 38 in napa. 32 at sfo and eight miles per hour in san jose. we do have a wind advisory in place that begins tonight at 11:00. it stays in place until monday at 7:00 a.m. we are looking for the higher elevations with gusts to 45 plus miles per hour. that is north bay mountains and diablo and santa cruz mountains. any time you get the same winds or gusts that high, there could be the potential for possible downed trees as well as power lines. we will keep you updated on this. you can see from the mountain cam, it is bobbling a little bit as the north winds are picking up. 58 and 59 in san jose.

from the tower cam, low clouds have moved on out. high clouds out there. napa 56 and 70s today. here's the forecast. it does include the wind advisory overnight and as we had time to fall back one hour. we will be returning to standard time and a cooler day for sunday and a bit on the breezy side. this is the weekend. clocks go back one hour and the best way is before you go to sleep. push the clocks back one hour. this is the cold front that is bringing high clouds. we will be on the back side overnight and that's when the strong north winds will start to pick up. it will bring us a pretty cool air mass as well.

most of them will take place over the higher elevations. cool in the north bay upper 30 said to near 40. some locations if you are in the 40s last night. low 40s are a little bit warmer. they will keep the air mass a little bit on the warm side. winds will be on the north. santa rosa is 63 and 63 for san francisco. 67 for san jose. taking a look ahead at the seven-day forecast. it will warm up tuesday and wednesday. >> we need it. >> it's something you have to see to believe.
