not add up and no one has found the witness and doesn't think he actually exists. >> for the first time, the prosecution is revealing a possible motive in the murder of an oakland federal investigator. the body of sandra coke was found in a park inage. -- in a park in august. during a hearing, a man was upset about going back to jail for parole violation and miss his mother's funeral. the parole violation was triggered by the search for coke's missing dog. the two everyone once involved. >> one of california's largest hospital chains settled a lawsuit over billing of services agreeing to pay $46 million and disclose more pricing information to consumers. the settlement is a result of a whistleblower campaign over false and misleading charges. federal officials and consumer advocates have been putting pressure on hospitals to explain their high prices.

hours from tracy to dublin because of a sig-alert. two lanes remain blocked with an injury accident. a big rig blocked the traffic so more cars would not run into them. westbound 80 at central avenue we have another accident with one lane blocked and one car is facing the wrong direction blocking the lanes. so far we do not have delays. at emeryville and toward the toll you can see the traffic is moving smoothly. you can see how traffic is light toward treasure island into san francisco and eastbound, you can see construction, and that will last until 2:00 this afternoon. >> moving on to breaking news from new jersey, terror at the large of the shopping mall with shots fired and then an all-night search for a gunman.

we go to our reporter who is in paramus, new jersey. matt? >> good morning, eric. police found the body of 20-year-old richard shoop in the upscale mall behind me with a self inflicted gunshot wound. police say he was the shooter last night and terrorized the mall. a note he left his parents is shedding light on why he did what he did. >> after firing at least six shots in a crowded new jersey mall the gun map, richard shoop, turned his weapon himself and his body was found in a back room where they found a suicide note. >> other than taking his own life with the when he used to do the firing inside the mall, mr. shoop does not appear to have injured anyone. >> shoppe dressed in black and was wearing body army and a motorcycle helmet fired several shots near the nordstrom

the gunnen ma. katie marzullo has the latest. >> they found the gunman dead. he killed himself and they believe that is the motive, suicide. he had ample opportunity to shoot people and he did not. police identified the man with the gun at 20-year-old richard shoop. this is from a modeling website. he lived with his parents in new jersey. the gun was stolen from his from, a legal .22 caliber rifle that was altered to look like an ak-47. police found him dead after midnight in the back area of the mall in an area under construction. they say he entered the mall at closing time and started shooting. he was wearing all black and a motorcycle helmet. thousands of people were able to get out before police locked down the mall but that left 400 shoppers and employees huddled inside while the officers searched for the gunman.
