people are stacking sandbags and tied down tin roofs. they have ordered more than 535,000 people to evacuate their homes. the coverage continues on our facebook page and website and twitter. police have announced arrests in connection with the robbery of a middle school student in antioch. now the victim's mother is speaking out, saying the crime could have been prevented. abc7 news reporter alan wang has the latest. >> this woman's son is a student at black diamond middle school and even though two deer valley students are arrested for robbing her son with a gun, they are still afraid to reveal their identity. >> he said this time he showed his gun. i could here his voice crack so i knew he was upset. >> five high school students surround her son at this bus

stop in antioch and he said give me all your money and he pulled up his third and showed the gun. >> the boy's mother said the boy who had the gun threatened to kill her son two weeks ago. she's upset the sis expect is in school one day after her son was robbed. >> they should have immediately sent out some type of alert over the tone to the other parents so the other parents can know the situation. what if it's another colorado school shooting? then what. they victims from the school have been notified. school district will only say it's working closely with police. in antioch, allen wang, abc news. >> there will be demonstrations throughout the bay area to protest the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy by the police dep utah. andy lopez was killed while holding a toy ak-47. his rights have filed a lawsuit against the sheriff's department and the deputy. today' demonstrations begin today at 1:00.

there will also be demonstrations in los angeles and sacramento. another demonstration is planned for today to protest remarks made on the late night show jimmy kim mill live. protesters held a march late last month over a segment in which a child joked about killing the people of china to help erase the u.s. debt. activists are calling for jimmy kimmel to be fired. our network, abc, has since apologized for the segment. today's protest is from noon to two in front of city hall. >> police shot and killed a pit bull they say tried to attack them during a call yesterday. it happened at 5:30 a.m.. they said as they tried to make an arrest in a domestic ace beauty, the dog charged them. an officer fired and no one else was hurt. >> the search is on for someone

who tried to steal a puppy during a carjacking. the victims were trying to sell a nine week old pom rainian to a man. he was holding the dog. when he pulled the gun and demanded their car. they feared for their lives and left the puppy and drove off. >> there's a strong show of support in the east bay for a teenager who was set on fire on monday. in oakland, people are putting up rainbow ribbons on bus stops along the 57th mcarthur line to recognize the victim. yesterday his fellow students wore skirts, kilts and in of him. he is not identified as a male or female which is identified as a hate crime. the parents are supportive.

>> they are very supportive of sasha. and we can't wait until asia gets back to us. >> a neighbor shared yidio he took on his cell phone monday with abc7 news. it shows the emergency response. suspect, 16-year-old richard thomas, will be tried as an adult and he faces hate crime charges. bail has skyrocket ford a former hayward police officer accused of sexually abusing four young girls before he became an officer. richard pleaded not guilty yesterday to 16 counts of lewd acts with a child. police say the abuse happened between 1998 and 2007 when he worked at a livermore afterschool program. he is also accused of intimidating a witness and a judge said she was troubled by the witness contact and has increased his bail to $3.6 million. a magnitude 3.2 earthquake hit the east bay last night just after 10:00.

lots of ebay viewers sent us tweets saying they felt the tweet. but there are no reports of damage. crews are finally getting the upper hand on a fire burning in lake county. flames destroyed an outbuilding and burned more than 150 acres. the fire does continue to threaten about a dozen other structures in the area but it is now 30% contained. the fire broke out just before 2:00 p.m. yesterday. it is burning east of highway 29 near the town of lower lake. boy, it's been dry out there. it's been even warm. yesterday morning tons of fog. >> right, exactly. we are looking at a little bit of fog this morning, but it's been the same old, same old. as we take a look from the sutro camera. the sun up at 6:44. we are one of the warmer locations. otherwise we have 30s and fog and we will talk about when we will see a change coming up. >> thank you, lisa. next, how smartphone and tablets

the warmer spot here. underneath a clear sky. we will be look for a little bit of fog throughout the morning hours. look at the numbers in the north bay. down to 36 in santa rosa, 39 napa and mid-30s in novato and the fog. 36 livermore and concord 44. so here are the numbers compared to yesterday morning. look how much cooler we are. 5 degrees cooler santa rosa and half moon bay coming in 9 degrees cooler, as well as oakland, livermore and san jose. pretty cool as well. we are calling for areas of dense fog. otherwise sunny and mild today. no 60s and lower 70s on top. more in the way of fog tomorrow and cooling us back. that's the most we can do for sunday. then into monday looks like maybe a slight chance of a shower. giving you an update on typhoon

haiyan. the philippines sustained winds anywhere from 147 to 170 miles per hour. right now it will be reforming in the south china sea, tomorrow morning making landfall as a category 3 with winds of up to 128 miles per hour. certainly a rough go of it here. you will notice the trajectory here continues as it weakens up to the north and we will look for weaker conditions as we head toward tomorrow afternoon. that's got news. high pressure off the coast and inland allowing for, once again, for ridge to rebuild and deflect any storm systems to the north. that allows for no big changes this week. here's a look at what happens -- i should say this weekend and into early next week. by tomorrow the southerly flow will bring the coastal fog back along the shoreline. that will cool us off a little bit. that's a minor change for the second half of the weekend. the rain chance comes in late tuesday. look for temperatures on the

half of the weekend. by about two to four degrees. by monday we still are looking cool but in the area of low pressure may clip parts of the north bay, allowing for just a slight chance of a shower. so over the past couple of days this ridge has expanded once again. and that has allowed for the fair weather and the storm track to stay to the north. but we will look for a piece of energy to slide on down from the south. and that could bring us a slight chance of showers. going to the next couple of days, here we are into the holiday on monday and tuesday you will notice most of the activity to the north. it looks like most of the rain will evaporate but we aren't going to rule out the chance for neighborhoods north of the golden gate. so in terms of statewide forecast we are looking at typical 60s in the mountains. a nice afternoon. 79 in press no. low 70s in los angeles. a beautiful day there. and temperatures on the coast today, mild. 60s. 69 san mateo, 68 santa cruz. look at the low 70s to
