needs to be done is the residents can move back into their homes. in the end, people are happy that no one was seriously injured or killed in the fire. >> there is in good time for a fire but 2:45 could be the most dangerous. two dozen people were sloping in eight units at the apartments in hayward when flames erupted. a man shot the vehicle while escaping the burning home. the flames were huge, the smoke blinding. somehow, everyone made it out. >> everyone was like, get out, get out. it was smoke covering the whole apartment. we could not see a thing. >> one of the two destroyed units you can see how devastating the flames can be to a building: nothing was last but for water and the overwhelming smell of smoke. a total of 27 people were evacuated from their homes including eight children. this baby escaped with the mother while the father and uncle joined them by jumping to

it is a week since the t.s.a. officer hernandez was gunned down at l.a.x. gunman by paul ciancia. there have been several memorials the last week. >> a teen accused of setting another fire on fire will be in court. the 16-year-old richard tom will enter a plea in connection with setting the 18-year-old sasha fleischman on fire by lighting the skirt. thomas told police he did it because he is homophobic and faces hate crime charges. sasha's fair -- father says his son does not identify with male or female. >> images of this man are circulating on child porn forums photographed engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child. some of the images show a ring on the suspect's right ring

chicago's willis tower is 400' taller. thanksgiving dinner could be a brunch because wal-mart is offering black friday deems earlier than ever and opening the doors at 6:00 on thanksgiving day, two hours earlier than last year. if you are planning the day here is the run down: k-mart is first to open at 6:00 on thanksgiving morning, a.m. toys 'r us is waiting until dinner time for 5:00 opening and best buy at 6:00 p.m. and target is offering early black deals on thanksgiving starting at 8:00 that evening. >> all right. we have to take a look at the weather from mike nicco. can you forecast that far in advance? >> probably could if i thought about it. we have a model that goes out 16 days but did not think of it yet. it is sneaking up on you with this warm of weather you forget it is fall.

good morning, everyone, look behind me, you can see the clouds are thin and getting thinner, but the bottoms of them are ragged. they letting go of what little moisture they are holding. the rain is evaporating before it reaches the ground. mount diabolo has a possible of a sprinkle. that is the best radar return. you can see it is getting dry and the energy is moving away from us, the rain and sprinkle threat, the nuisance it was this morning is enough to make the ground wet but hardly measurable to .01" in most reporting stations which is over. the temperatures are mostly in the mid-to-upper 60's. los gatos is 68. we have 65 in shows and mountain view and 64 in san francisco and oakland and 68 in san ramon, santa rosa and concord are behind it at 62 degrees.

this is how it looks from the east bay hills looking to the dry weather to the west with clouds getting thinner by the molt. today it will be partly cloudy and warm. clearing tonight. we have patchy fog possible in the in the bay valley and mild and dry through the extended forecast. however, the latest model run tries to push the rain into the forecast for the weekend but when we have a model and the other is preceding it, we like to wait for the next run. san jose has temperatures about one to eight degrees warmer than yesterday. we had sprinkles this morning and usually that means cooler weather but the storm came from the southwest. it doesn't have any cold weather with it. low-to-mid 70's in the south bay with milpitas and santa clara coolest at 70 and 72 in san jose and cupertino. upper 60's to low 70's on the peninsula and low-to-mid 60's along the coast into downtown and south san francisco is 67

with low-to-mid 60's at bodega and sausalito and the north bay valleys in the low-to-mid 70's with napa at 73, the warm spot and upper 60's to low 70's along the east bay shore and low-to-mid isn't into the east bay valley. tonight, temperatures are 5- to 10-degrees cooler and low-to-mid 40's inland and up to 50 for the rest of us. moving forward, you can see the high pressure coming in steering away the storm and the sister high develops to our north and that will kick up the wins not only thursday but on friday and that could create the fire danger. here is the seven-day forecast, today through friday it cooled for the week end but still not sold on it being wet yet. coming back this evening, spencer and sandy will have an update and tomorrow morning i will be back to let you know if it will rain. i have our fingers crossed it will not rain on the weekend.
