valley town of los gatos home to internet media streaming giant netflix over an expansion plan that received town approval but face as lot opposition. matt keller is at the netflix campus. matt? >> business is booming for netflix with the stock up 275 percent this year now the expansion plans are getting a big boost in los gatos. in 2012 the council approve expansion of the business park on the other side of highway 85 from the current 250,000 square feet to 485,000 square feet for the netflix headquarters expansion. lawsuits have been filed challenging the high and the size. two los gatos residents have filed a letter of intent to circulate a petition allowing for the business park to go on as landed and squashing the ability of a court to stop the development. if the initiative maybes it to the ballot and approved by los

gatos voters it amends the plan to protect the business park development for being challenged in court until the year 2021. the new development will provide up to $1 million in new prosecute tax revenue for local schools each year. opponents say netflix has signed a lease agreement to stay and the legal challenges are about responsible development in the town. the initiative is titled los gatos economic development and jobs retention initiative. in word on how many signatures need to be collected to make it to the ballot. >> this is the first weekday commute since the new fourth bore of the caldecott tunnel tunnel opened on saturday morning so now there are two tunnels available in each direction helping drivers eastbound in the reverse commute. they used to have to merge into one tunnel. westbound commute into san francisco is expected to be the same or slower as they check out

police say a white van didn't even stop after hitting the bicyclist and witnesses tried to chase down the van but the driver got away. investigators say the bicyclist suffered serious injuries. the white van should have front-end damage and a shattered window. >> a state senate subcommittee will hold a hearing in san francisco on how the california public utilities commission should improve the oversight of utilities. this is chaired by a state senator jerry hill and will hear testimony on how they can improve enforcement of safety policies. a report released last month by the panel criticized the lack of progress on safety since the 2010 pg&e gas explosion that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes in san bruno. >> ten homeless people and nonprofit housing advocates are trying to stop albany from clear

>> this is the first weekday commute with the fourth bore open for business at the caldecott tunnel. amy hollyfield is at the tunnel. it want well over the weekend but how is it going now? >> it looks good. the headlights headed interest san francisco are moving fine with the new tunnel with east but look on the or side and you can see the tail lights, those are the real winners with no backup. that is because they now have two bores in their direction and that is a first for them. that will save them an average of five minutes. over the weekend the opening of the fourth bore, it is wide, it has a shoulder, and it is expected to improve not only the commute but woke end -- but weekend driving when the residents are trying to head into the city or to berkeley for
