they have quite a strong red cross there, 500,000 volunteer, and a through paid staff so they very well equipped but they needs the funds to buy material. >> when people here first think of sending, water, clothes on things. >> it is commendable sentiment but the problem is getting things like that, bulky and heavy and shipping them to the region is time consuming and expensive. the other advantage to sending money over there and having them procure things locally it rebuilding the regional economy. in the immediate disaster area, the economy is in rush state but in the surrounding areas there is stuff that can be purchased. >> another question for you, the american red cross hasn't sent a lot of people or teams to the philippines to help. why is that? >> again, the broad cross in the philippines has a very good staff. we have sent approximately ten

up to vancouver from crescent city. we will get our chance, though. the fog has lifted and all of us are just cloudsy on live doppler 7 hd. we will talk about what will happen if you stepping out right now. it will just see increasing clouds, you will need a coat as the temperatures are in the mid-to-upper 50's and cooler around santa rosa and napa at 52 degrees. at mount tamalpais you can see the multilayers of cloud cover that are moving in ahead of this system which has pretty good moisture but you have to get the energy to come through and tap it and push it out. it will do that tonight. gathering clouds today and we will be dry with temperatures getting up close to average in the low-to-mid 60's. our first way of rain is tonight through tomorrow and we will have light rain with that and then the rain will become more intermittent for wednesday and thursday. the system then stalls on top of it. here is our temperature for today. we still have a couple of hours of warming with the cloud cover out here and we will have

temperatures in the upper 50's at half moon bay and san francisco, richmond, vallejo, to clear lake and cloverdale and the rest of us possibly hitting 63 in fairfield and antioch. tonight, you can see the rain in the green hitting the north bay as far south as san francisco and temperatures in the mid-40's up north and rain-cooled air there, and the rest of us are in the upper 40's to mid-50's. well look at what is going on upstairs, the system is pretty mature looking system with clouds tabling off to the lower left-hand side of the screen so it has a little bit of a tropical connection, not much, but a little bit. here is the rain. it will arrive tonight. that secondary low behind the main low, that is what will come law and bring us another chance on wednesday and thursday. midnight, already starting to rain up north as we head to the morning commute, 7:00, we through 9:00, you can see the best chance of rain is still up north and the rest of us are
