abc7 news begins with breakings news. >> the breaking news at 6:00 involving bart. >> computer glitch forces the agency to delay the start service this morning the we thought first it would start at 5:00, and then 6:00, and now we do not know. >> now there is no timeline. leyla gulen is tracking bart and the traffic. >> we do not have any bart service. that is the story for the rest of the morning until we find out what is 457ing. we have a computer glitch causing all trains to be stranded. we have other alternates, ace train is going to be running on time. and i think a tran it.

caltrain has two trains that will pick up bart passengers in milbrae. those folks will were helped out. other folks my have to use another form of mass transit or casual car pool or drive your own car. 580 westbound from tracy to dublin is 38 minutes and highway 4 westbound antioch to concord is 4 minutes and 101 southbound from san rafael to san francisco is 17 minutes and with the wind we have a lot of debris causing slow downs. so far, we have not been hearing of any major accidents so we will hope it stays that way and we start the weekend off on a good foot. live doppler 7 hd shows radar satellite returns and we do not see any radar runs because it is looking dry. we did have rain early this week which we desperately needed and now everything is cleared with dry cdionons. with that we have plenty of wind

and to the bay bridge it is bouncing up-and-down and that is because we have some of our highest winds in the east bay. proceed with caution. our gusts now are 29 miles per hour in napa and 32 in petaluma and 22 miles per hour in hair and calmer along the peninsula into the south bay the as we look at our day planner, the next 12 hours, we have sunshine and cooler temperatures as we head into the afternoon and 59 is our high, and 65 around the bay and 63 along the coast and starry clear skies for the evening. >> our top story of the morning, what are bart passengers saying? what is bart saying about no service? >> we will check with amy hollyfield from oakland with the latest. amy? >> they are saying the track switching problem and they don't know when it will be fixed.

look at the passengers standing an empty we have talked to some who said they are wondering whether they should wait, just in case the trains start running in the next few minutes. i asked a bart spokesman and he doesn't advise doing this. he says grab a bus, jump in a car, join a car pool. don't count on bart. we have a time of engineers working on its since midnight and they have a not been able to update me because they focused getting the problem fixed which and so major we can fought run the trains the way we want to to make sure our customers are getting where they need to go. this happened at midnight. there were trains full of passengers when the system shut down. it took two hours to get home. they are having to manually crank the switches and shift the tracks which is not efficient and though cannot run the system. the main computer is not

communicating with the track. at this point they have no idea when it will be fixed. were stuck for hour on the train. at pittsburg bart station from this morning they said bart said this was a computer problem and they waited. and waited. >> it is frustrating. but are just getting back and i have been at the bart station since 12:00 and now it is 4:12 in the morning. the bart has been running terrible since they got off strike. >> four hour bart ride to pittsburg bay point. we heard from a number of people who felt the same as that gentleman. >> to get latest on bart, please tweet us.

we will let you know when the service resumes and if you are stuck on a bart train or you see anything else related tweet it to us. the same could be said for winds hitting bay area. the wind was deadly in oakland with two people killed in two separate citizens. a driver hit a toppled tree and was killed. another man died when he stepped on a power behind and was electrocuted in east oakland. we have more of the damage from the wind in berkeley. matt? what a mess in downtown berkeley but the winds have died down the last 20 minutes. there is a lot of debris in the roads. i told you of the sign that blew off the restaurant and blew 75

yards away. you can see the damage here shows how strong the wind gusts have been in berkeley and, of course, you have the trees, the branches in the area and you have a lot of debris, we saw at the who of garbage cans. it is a mess. you could run interest a lot of debris on the surface streets so it is dangerous. pg&e crews are in the area. they are working on getting the power back on. the latest numbers from pg&e in the east bay at 13,000 outages but over the last hour the number has dwindled from 20,000. north bay has the second most customers without power at 6,400, and the peninsula has 62. the winds have died down but there could still be problems.

the branches have been throwing all might and they could be weak and fall with the slightest of breezes. be careful when you hit the roads. >> thank you very much, matt. pg&e has been working through the night with the winds to restore power to 67,000 customers would were left in the dark at the height of the storm. now the latest figures, in the east bay, you can see 20,000 on the scene but now downgraded to 15,000 in the dark. in the north bay we have 6,800 customers in the dark and in the peninsula, there are 140 people only without power. in san francisco, everyone now has their power. pg&e crews say they are working hard to restore power but no word when the heights will be back on. >> the high winds knocked down trees around the east bay. a tree fell on power lines in

berkeley and crews worked into the night to clean it up and get all restored. a resident was caught by surprise by the power of the winds. >> it came from nowhere. i had dinner and then i came downstairs and the winds were blowing out and blowing out and blowing and blowing out and then the power went out. >> tree was knocked on to both sides of interstate 238 with two cars damaged during the rush hour backing up traffic for several hours while the highway was cleared. >> a 100' tree fell in concord and knocked the street. the road was closed for several hours. in petaluma, a car crashed for a tree that fell on highway 101 with one person hospitalized. there was a big backup before it was cleared.

is busy funneling into san francisco. we have a high wind advisory for several bridges including the bay bridge and the cartinez. the san mateo bridge is clear. we are looking at clear conditions there. we have wind in the forecast that will last through the morning hours so physical 10:00 this morning, from the live doppler 7 hd satellite we do not have any moisture, the rain left and went to the south. looking to the bay you can see a beautiful shot with the winds in the northeast direction and are heavy at this hour. make sure you are careful when you hit the roads for the high-profile vehicles. napa has 29 miles per hour and petaluma has 33 miles per hour.

it is calm on the peninsula and the south bay. that is good news. the high wind adviseory will lift by 10:00 this morning. the ridge of high pressure is coming in and bringing cold, cool, dry air mass. behind it there will be a tropical depression that will bring more moisture next week so be prepared for possibly a wet thanksgiving. the highs will to be out in the upper 60's or low 70's. lows will be chilly because the winds calm down that will cool it down. 41 degrees in many areas of the bay area and near freezing in the north bay. we have a big game this weekend, on saturday, cal versus stanford is pack the sweater or jacket and maybe a blanket. stay seasonal temperatures

is pushing the flames. the wind is drying out the moisture that rain brought this week. however, the firefighters are getting the upper hand with the fire 50 percent contained. the fire has burned 350 acres. it broke out at 9:30 last night and before midnight authorities evacuateed the areas. the sheriff says 50 homes and 30 to 40 people were evacuated. soda canyon road is closed. cal fire and napa county crews are on the scene. there was a scary moment early on when the sheriff deputies went through the flames to help a man get out of his home. the elderly man is okay. no estimate when they will have full containment of the brushfire. >> thank you.

bart station standing around. they do not want to deal with traffic, they do not want to pay for packing in the city. they want to catch a bart train. officials are saying they do not recommend this strategy. though do not know when the trains will run again. though do not want to disappoint so they are saying you need to take an alternate way to work and get on a bus or jump in a car pool or take your car. they are dealing with a computer problem, a track switching issue and they do not have progress updates because the edge nears are trying to fix the problems and they have future been able to tell bart officials and the bart spokesman how they doing or when they could get the trains running. there is in estimated time of service getting up and running. make other plans. >> right now we will look at the
