good morning, everyone, at 5:00, we are starting you off accident free but we have a big of construction and congestion to get to. first, the congestion over the altamont pass, what is surprise, 37 miles per hour with bumper-to-bumper traffic away from tracy and 205 with things tapering off and we have eastbound traffic along 580 up to the dublin interchange. plan ahead. here is a look at our drive time traffic away from sausalito to san francisco, you are at eight minutes and highway 80 the bay bridge is eight minutes to get you from the maze to san francisco. the san mateo bridge headed away from hayward to foster city is 12 minute drive. outside, san jose, here we come, ready or not, 280, northbound, away from highway 17, a couple of headlights making it there in the northbound direction and it is still quiet. >> happening today the racial taunting of a black student will take center stage at san jose state university. civil rights and community groups will join forces with

university administration to call for tougher penalties for several white students charged in the case. our reporter is in san jose university. >> another rally by the black student union is scheduled for today before the press conference by the naacp which wants felony charges filed against the four san jose state students. here is video from last week, organizers call thed the black thursday with students showing support for the alleged victim, the prosecution says four white freshman used racial slur against the 17-year-old black student inside the campus housing with nazi images and a bicycle lock around his neck and locked him in his closet. they have been suspended. three have been charged with hate crimes and the four the is a juvenile. the san jose silicon valley naacp will hold a press conference on campus with the organization state and national office and san jose state

president obama will arrive in the bay area today to talk about immigration reform. the welcome is a far cry from the visits after he won re-election. here is what he is phasing. amy? >> they are getting ready with a look at behind the scenes before the president gets here with the secret service inside the recreation center in san francisco having a meeting in preparation for the visit. invited guests in chinatown will hear the president speak on immigration reform. lee is in seattle holding fundraisers for the democratic party. the president is being met protesters greeting him in seattle and they will be here in van. the group code pink was already out last night and the president isn't even here yet. this is a rough time in his presidency, with the approval rating at an all-time low around

at 29th avenue we have three vehicles reported at the gas station with flat tires. they have hit some sort of debris if the lanes there, so watch out for that will that. to the bay bridge you can see traffic is building as you make the push over to treasure island but so far no accidents and clear conditions. we rely on the waze to track our traffic and i recorded a wrong way driver along westbound highway 24 headed through walnut creek and it does not look like any wazer is reporting anything but we are going to keep our eyes peeled. guide you on your destination.
