and thrive. lynn spalding before being found dead in a locked hospital stairwell. >> and the autopsy report is not sitting well with friends. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm carolyn johnson. ama dates is here with new details. ama? >> carl lynn and dan, the entire case has been mismanaged from day one and the autopsy report is the latest example. lynn spalding's friends and family know the cause of death as determined by the medical examiner. >> this is the autopsy report released for 57-year-old lynn spalding. she was found dead at san francisco general hospital 17 days after she was reported missing from her hospital room. the medical examiner's report says spalding died of probable

electrolyte imbalance and insepsis. that refers to alcohol which has the spalding family attorney very upset. >> now that they found that it is unnecessary. that is not why this lady died. >> the family was supposed to receive the medical examiner's report before the media. >> i will certainly pursue through various avenues that there will be some investigation to the way this particular case has been handled. whether it is through a regulatory agency or a grand jury. >> some say they are angry because they feel the report blames the victim, saying spalding would still be alive had the hospital not lost her. and they still don't know how

spalding died. they helped explain the medical examiner's report. >> it balances in combination with a liver whose inability to compensate for them resulted in a collapse of her heart or her brain resulting in death. >> they have not yet been able to review their report and the lawyer for the family vows to get answers. there are several problems with this autopsy report. for example, they did the autopsy on october fifth and 6th and she was not found until the 8th. >> that's a major problem. >> we will have to see what happens now. >> ama, thank you. >> happening right now in los angeles, just minutes ago police shot and killed a man after a wild high speed chase in a corvette. he wove through the streets for about an hour before slamming into another car. then he tried to run as you will see here. at least one officer pulled the trigger and he was

killed. the chase started after police tried to pull over the man for reckless driving. >> another deadly shooting at an american high school today, just a day before the one-year anniversary before the sandy hook shooting in connecticut. an 18-year-old high school senior rushed into his school and opened fire shooting a student before apparently killing himself. abc news reporter has leat breaking details on the -- has late breaking details on the gunman. >> terror on the campus of arapahoe high school where 18-year-old carl pearson, a senior at the school armed with two molotov cocktails and a shotgun opened fire inside the school. >> he shot her and he just came screaming down the stairs, help me, help me. >> running military-style. i looked and i double looked and it was a shotgun. >> the janitor says he called out the name of a teacher seen in this facebook photo, tracy murphy. >> he knew he was the target and he left that school in an

effort to try to encourage the shooter to also leave the school. >> a 15-year-old student who suffered a significant gunshot wound is currently listed in critical condition. >> deputies rushed into the school. >> the time the deputy called out the incident until the time that he discovered the shooter's body was within five minutes. >> hundreds of students were evacuated from campus with their hands held high above their head. a similar scene that reminded men of the columbine killings where 14 years ago and eight miles away 13 people were gunned down. >> you guys are not that far from columbine. it had to be on everybody's mind. >> it was so sur veal -- surreal. in colorado we unfortunately have had so many of these incidents. >> they enacted tougher gun laws following the shooting spree in new town, connecticut. including banning high capacity round magazines.

this incident show involved a shotgun. abc news, los angeles. >> a man suspected it in a series of north bay bank robberies may be connected to a failed art heist and kidnapping 35 years ago. officers shot 60-year-old christopher jay wooten yesterday in san rafael after an attempted bank robbery and high speed chase. he is the cotton bowl bandit who robbed 10 other banks since last december. he got that name because of the hat he wears on his head. wooten has a criminal past. he and another man ab -- abducted a woman during a botched oil painting robbery. he was released in 1990. the poor air quality that has been hanging around for the past week will not go away. another spare the air day has been issued for tomorrow. spencer christian is in for sandhya patel with a look at live doppler 7hd for us. spencer? >> here is live doppler 7hd. it will get chilly in a few

spots, but what we are concerned about is air quality. it is in decline as we look live from the tower camera over san francisco. we can see tomorrow is our seventh consecutive spare the air day. that is a record for the bay area. we will have medium air quality at best over most of the bay area and the santa clara valley will have the poorest quality of all. remember no wood burning during a spare the air alert. >> spencer, thank you. san francisco ballet's performance of the nutcracker was interrupted when a fire alarm went off. the war memorial opera house had to be evacuated. we got these pictures from viewers. there was no fire, but fans got good pictures with a few of the stars including the rat kings. after a quick run through by security, the show went on. water service has been restored to nearly all of millbrae following a series of watermain breaks. they happened between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and affected more than a thousand households. ifcity officials say the pipes

may have burst because of the cold weather or because they are 65 years old. the repairs will cost cash-strapped millbrae about $1 million. we have nef details about a high school band in san jose that was robbed of its fundraising money. this is the oak grove band in concert tonight and an armed guard will be at every wednesday night's bingo fundraiser. a man with a gun took up to $5,000 from the weekly game this week. surveillance cameras will also be added. tomorrow a thousand south bay families will receive holiday gifts thanks to the hard work of dozens of people. firefighters and volunteers have gathered presents and they p wrad them in san jose and tomorrow they will distribute them throughout santa clara county. th is the toy drive's 29th year. >> more than 400 million dollars is up for grabs. coming up, did anybody win the mega millions jackpot?

a rocking wedding is taking place over the weekend you of the palace of fine arts. the lead guitarist from journey is marying a tv star. sergio is live to explain why. >> no doubt they have been here at the palace, but there are signs up warning about the parking restrictions. today a ballet school has been scram glig to make sure -- scrambling to make sure the sunday wedding does president -- doesn't conflict with their sunday matinee performance of the nutcracker. the rotunda is set up. it is for a rock legend and reality tv star and they will exchange vows. >> i always looked at the palace of fine arts and i said that is the most gorgeous, historic place in san francisco to see.

>> he is best known as the co-founder of journey. she is known as the real housewife of dc who crashed the white house with her then husband. their sunday wedding has been in the works for the last few months. it is billed as the winter wonderland music event and slated to be televised live on pay per view. they tell me they are excited and they hope it doesn't rattle the area. >> i think the neighborhood is a little worried that we are going to -- like be like guns n' roses and smashing tv's. it will be a class see, elegant crowd. >> parking signs are already set up warning people about the restrictions. that may turn out to be a problem for these ballet students who are getting ready for their own sunday show. >> as we wish the happy couple the best with their festivities it definitely has an impact on the turnout of our show.

7hd. it is going to be a bit chilly in some spots overnight. it is getting chilly already. a live view from the exploratorium camera at the embark daughter rosen ter. embarcadero. 44 across the bay and oakland at 39 in redwood city and los gatos and half moon bay, 44 san jose. another live view from the emeryville camera looking westward across the bay we have 35 right now and santa rosa 33 at napa and 36 at petaluma. you can see the north bay will be chilly. fairfield, concord 39 and 40 in livermore. one more live view from the south beach camera. our forecast features clear and chilly and the seventh consecutive and that is a record. a milder pattern on sunday and will last for a few days. the satellite image shows a big area of high pressure building in to keep the weather calm and dry here for the next several days. the jet stream is flowing well to our north. no showers on the way, but if you are looking for showers you can find a meteor shower overnight. looking at the western sky just after 4:44 a.m. after the

moon set and before sunrise, and you will see the meteor shower that will be quite a spectacular display in the western sky overnight. and speaking of overnight we will have clear skies with the low temperatures dropping to about 29 at napa and 30 at santa rosa. the inland east bay will see lows into the low to mid30s and down in the south bay, 32 at morgan hill and 36 san jose and we will see lows in the midto upper 30s around the bay and some upper 30s to about 40 on the coast. highs tomorrow generally in the upper 50s to the low 60s around the bay and inland. midto upper 50s on the coast. as you look at the high temperature trend in downtown san jose, notice -- and by the way this is indicative of the trend we will see at our inland locations, there is a rise in temperatures up to 70 degrees on monday and 69 on tuesday. far above the afnlg for this time of year -- for the average this time of year. it will drop off sharply later in the week. there is perhaps a strong enough shift in the wind to mix out some of the stagnant air and improve our air

quality. meanwhile here is the accu-weather seven-day forecast. notice as the temperatures continue to rise, you don't notice it here, but it is unlikely that the air quality will improve much. tomorrow the seventh consecutive spare the air day continuing through tuesday. inland highs and bay shore highs in the midto upper 60s and low 60s on the coast. very calm and quiet weather pattern. maybe as the week -- as we get later into the week there is a change in the could sky conditions and we could get stronger wippedz and that may help bring in cleaner and fresher and better air. >> we need it. >> we really do. >> and wetter air. >> well, we can use the wet weather as well. one thing at a time. we'll take the cleaner air first. >> larry beil is here now. >> this is a fun game, but maybe not the ending everyone would like. warriors trying to shoot off the rockets. tough to do that unless somebody decides they will guard james harden.
