consecutive fee, hot chocolate, and a bit of education about how to keep students safe. >> i still try to always look behind me. >> some uc berkeley students are taking more precautions after reading tweets from uc police about robberies around campus this week. the latest saturday morning in willard park. students taking pictures of a meteor shower were robbed by two men who stole their cameras, phones, and cash. the victims were not hurt on thursday two were robbed of laptops and phones. and on december 10th, female student walking home on this street was robbed by two teens with gucks who stole her wallet and phone. the crimes have lyanne thinking about her safety. >> everybody told me to, don't walk at night because there's been so many robberies and it's pretty sketchy. >> uc police have stepped up patrols, becoming more visible. officers warned students not to

be a tank. >> just be aware of your surroundings. walk in well-lit areas, pay attention what is going on around you. don't be so engrossed with your cell phone, i.e. ex-texting, talking on your phone, looking at the internet. >> i want to be safe. >> many students are taking advantage of nighttime walking escorts and shuttles. >> sometimes call up and coming from a friend's house and i don't want to walk home alone. reporter: police report no arrested heave been made in the robberies. tonight foster city police are looking for two men, one armed, who robbed a man of his casino winnings. the victim was gambling at the lucky chances casino and drove back to his hotel in foster city, where he was approached in the parking men by two men, one with a shotgun, the victim, 68-year-old man from oklahoma, hasn'ted over his wallet, casino chips and cash.

the robbers followed him home from the casino. >> a teenage shooting victim in san francisco has been identified. 16-year-old clifton chapman was shot and killed in the city's silver at the's neighborhood. officers were called to a shooting around 11:00 last night. a second victim is hospitalized in serious condition. tonight firefighters are trying to determine the cause of a fire that left 30 people homeless. flames rose from an apartment building this morning. the fire left fire and water damage. >> we have at least 12 units with significant damage, so we're looking at, 12 units displaced and potentially more. once the people who don't have as much damage good in and see the conditions, they may choose to not come back home. >> the fire began on the top floor in the rear of the building.

in santa cruz, but the trend this week is going to be, we're going to warm it up a few days and then we're going to bottom back out by the end of the week, check out san jose tomorrow, looking for 70 degrees. 69 for tuesday. wednesday, and thursday, 50s, and then warms back up by next weekend so a yo-yo effect today. we'll look at more numbers in a bit. >> authorities want to talk to anyone who witnessed a fight between a husband and wife that sent the husband into the bay. sky 7hd captured the aftermath of friday's accident that delayed westbound drivers. the couple got into a fight inside their white suv. they crashed, got out, and kept fighting. at some point the man either jumped or was pushed into the bay. he clung to a bridge support until being rescued. the police are considering domestic violence charges but need more information. that was on the san mateo bridge. more than 60 people are in trouble with the law after being

suspected of driving drunk on south bay roads. police arrested 33 people on friday and 32 more yesterday. the dui crackdown will continue through new year's day. rock star neil shawne is getting married in san francisco. a guitarist in one of the most popular classic rock bands in the u.s. not everyone is happy about this evening's nuptials. lillian kim is live from outside the event at the palace of fine arts to tell us why. reporter: the wedding began at 5:00, and it's attracted a small but steady stream of onlookers. this is as close as anyone can get. the wedding is taking place across the pond, underneath the rotunda at the palace of fine arts. guests are inside a tent. most onlookers did not know about the ceremony until they walked by. we talked to one person who came here just for this.

the navy plans to enkreis testing the effects of snow far on whales and dolphins. it affects the way they dive, communicate and feed. some whales try to escape the sonar. scientist believe it could be causing mass strandings and deaths. the navy is working with whale researchers in southern california to figure out the effects of snow far on large groups whales. research has just studied small pods. >> land -- coastal dairy includes 7,000 acres of sloping

this time of year, but some families go out of their way to see one particular santa in southern california. we'll show you, why at 9:00 and 11:00 on abc7 news. no surprise at the box office this weekend the hobbit, desolation of smaug, came in first place. it made less than the first hobbit movie last year. warner brothers believes people snowed in back east were unable to get to the theater. i can believe that. disney's frozen was second, and a madea christmas debuted and came in third. hunger games and thor rounded out the top five. the box office for this year remains just slightly ahead of last year's record, a total of $10.8 billion. that will do it for abc7 news at 6:00.
