live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> good wednesday morning at clearly 6:00. leyla gulen is doing double duty starting off with the weather. >> good morning, everyone, at 6:00 we are waking up to high clouds and patchy fog around the bay area with live doppler 7 hd radar satellite showing reports of drizzle in the north bay. most of the wet weather has moved to the east but not so say it will not return overnight. the big news is another "spare the air" and now 11 times before, this is the 11 the consecutive "spare the air" with the poorest air quality in santa clara valley, the 15th of the season, and san jose is one of the worst areas for air quality. as we look from our mount tamalpais camera it is clear and i can assure you it is going to be smoggy this afternoon and that will change, though, and we are waking up to cooler temperatures and 50 degrees in san francisco and 39 in oakland

and 41 in redwood city and 46 in los gatos and this is san jose and the next three days a slight chance of showers overnight with the warm up expected for the first day of winter. this is an update in oakland, northbound 880, rather than oakland street it is closer for 23rd where we have two vehicles and a big rig with all lanes shut down and a couple lanes, now, are open but still causing quite the damage to the commute. use a 80 today. somebody, likely in the south bay, is weighing up a new mull by millionaire. san jose is where one of two winning tickets were sold for the huge jackpot. matt keller is at the gift shop in san jose. >> this is the second biggest jackpot ever for the mega millions and one of the two dick

concrete and two men managed to get it out of there and a witness said he her yelling and he looked out the window and he saw the two men and they had a chain around the machine and they tried to pull it with their van but that didn't work so they moved on to plan "b". >> they knocked it over with the van and front ended it is it was on its side. then they pull it to the front and they drove off. here is the van: at 17th and missouri and the machine was in it and the men were not so they got away. they were on the bridge making their escape toward the east bay and an officer spotted them around treasure island and said the guys turned around and went the wrong way on the bridge. police did not pursue them. they picked they will up in the city, lost them again and found the van but not the men. here at may flower market in

santa clara county. the stagnant weather combined with a fire at a redwood city metal recycling center and the fire in big sur was to blame for the bad air quality and the health -- issued an alert suggesting children, elderly and those with breathing problems stay indoors. >> the big sur fire is now 20 percent contained but winds will pick up in 24 hours. the wildfire broke out on sunday and destroyed 17 homes. one of the homes was the home of the fire chief. five other structures are destroyed. 300 families remain evacuated. the file will embryo in the -- will grow with wind up to 30 miles per hour. >> the driver of a big rig involved in a deadly bicycle accident never knew he hit the bicyclist. a 62-year-old woman was riding the bicycle at 5th and market and hit, dragged, and killed last night. a witness followed the truck and

begab. >> kristen, the owner is now cleaning up the mess. loyal customers have stopped by to find out what happened. there used to be an a.t.m. machine here at the market at jackson and fillmore in san francisco. it was bolted to the concrete. it is now gone. a man who was asleep in his apartment saw the whole thing. he soldier what sounded like a crash, he saw two men with a van trying to steal the a.t.m. machine and he saw them steal it. they put a chain an it and tried to pull it from the drowned where their van and that didn't work so they knocked it over with their van. >> they put the a.t.m. in the van and there was something in the back because they could not get the whole thing in. they could not close the doors and something was hanging out and dragging on the ground. >> here is the vehicle: police got it at 17th and missouri,

the a.t.m. machine was inside and the men were going. they were on their way out of here toward the east bay but an officer spotted them around treasure island and said that van turned around and went the wrong way on the jail back into the city. police later found the abandoned van. in pacific heights the owners shocked. he has been here since 1996 and never had anything like this happen before. now he is cleaning up and says he does have cameras inside his store not outside. police say they did fine some cameras in the made but they will check that for clues. nasa has schedule the first of three spacewalks to fix a damaged cooling station on the international space station with the first spacewalk on saturday morning at 2:00 a.m. our time and repair a faulty valve that made the line unstable. it will take six hours.
