we will be in the low-to-mid 60's in most neighborhoods and the warmest weather is santa cruz and morgan hill at 67 and 68 in santa rosa and 70 in cloverdale and 64 in san francisco and oakland and san jose at 66 and 64 in concord. enjoy. leyla gulen? >> as we take a drive over to the north bay you can see how clear it is out here along 101 if you are making the trip from petaluma to novato, at 65 miles per hour along highway 116, and it is looking clear to sonoma and to the south, not seeing any issues. when you get to the golden gate bridge it will take you nine minutes to head from sausalito to san francisco. the san mateo bridge is 13 minutes, with a look at san jose as you drive along 280 away from 17, wide open. it is so dark out here we are only seeing one car in the southbound direction. eric over to you. >> this morning, thousands of

workers to pay more in the pensions and retirement health benefits or accept the lower pension. the police and firefighters challenged it. yesterday the judge declared the measure illegal but ruleed the city could make up for this by cutting salaries setting a precedent, possibly, for other pension reform fights. the san jose mayor is pushing a state constitutional amendment to allow local governments to reduce pentagons for workers. >> the federal government is giving americans another day of shopping for a health plan with the deadline in help rolling through obamacare was yesterday if people want coverage to start january 1st. that deadline now is pushed back until today. >> in california, the agency overseeing the health insurance exchange is offering a grace period for anyone who tried to sign up before year's deadline but couldn't. officials will not say how long the grace period will citizen. they say up to 20,000 were signing up each day as the

deadline approached. people who have enrolled have until december 31 to pay the premium. >> a look if deeper discounted in stores today as retailers try to improve on lackluster sales. figures this morning show retail sales down 3.1 percent from a year ago and does not include on-line sales. the season was off to a strong start in november but figures have fallen. the retailers could slash prices with the discounts starting today. our news reporter will have more in a report coming up in 30 minutes. >> a kitten stolen from a san francisco animal shelter will be reunit flighted with its owners today. arizona was stolen from animal care and control on wednesday but she turned up on sunday night at a hotel on mark it street. the manager saw news of the theft on tv and called authorities when arizona showed up in a bathroom.

procrastinators. some say they just got off work and it is nice to shop this early in the morning. others say they want to avoid the crowds and they admit they is one thing in common: they procrastinate, shopping the difficult before christmas. we have seen people buying gifts, bicycles, toys, just wrapping paper, anything just to get ready if tomorrow morning. retailers are offering deep discounts already in the hopes of luring people out into the last day of shopping. sales have not been where the stores would like them to be so they hoping that people will come out and make the difference today. a lot of people we talked to are not looking for deals but out because they put off the hopping. >> i have a busy day so is a chance to shop. each year i wait until the last minute. so...make sure i get everyone.

i just got off work. my wife sent me to pick up the wrapping paper and i need to get home. i'm tireed. >> online seems are up but the margins are not great for the stores with so many offer free shipping and they have put the discounts into place early this career so that is why the numbers are not adding up to where the stores want them this year is you seeing the discounts early. some stores are offering north of 50 percent. discounts you usually see after christmas. but, a lot of the stores are hoping hoping today can make the different presence and we will see if they can do it for them today. historic night in candlestick park will be remembered for one magical moment. the atlanta falconned has a chance to pull off the upset in the final regular season game at the stick, close to the end zone but look at that, an

geary street at powell. >> two astronauts are on the second spacewalk to replace a pump outside the international space station. the astronauts are out there working pretty hard and you can see the crew inside the international space station trying to install a new pump to replace one that failed two weeks ago and the pump is part of the cooling system that keeps the equipment come. on saturday, they successfully removed faulty refrigerator-sized pump putting the task head of schedule but after the spacewalk an accident allowed water to get into a space suit which is a drowning hazard. the astronauts are wear backup suits and will wrap up the work today. >> parts of new england and michigan are covered in ice making holiday travel treacherous blamed for 11 deaths and the power is still out for
