amy hollyfield? >> matt, you can see the burned out door, a terrible site on the curb of the attack. next to it, look here this is a police officer protecting and watching over the consulate office. the counsel general will meet with united states agencies to talk about tighter security. look at the response from last night: local and federal officials were investigating the crime that happened at 9:25. someone poured two buckets of gasoline on the front door of the chinese consulate and set it on fire. no one was hurt. the chinese consulate issued a statement calling this sabotage and violent in nature saying this crime targeted the chinese consulate institution in the united states and expressed strong condemnation. it will be open today.

friends and family mourn a hour who died new year's eve in a tragic series of events that began with an argument. 19-year-old ashley capuchin had her three-month-old baby, salvador when slow and her 17-year-old sister dabbed across paseo padre parkway. all three were struck by a truck. she died, the baby has life threatening injuries. and her sister has minor injuries. >> 19-year-old ashley capuchin was a proud mother of three-month-old salvador. >> she came to see us christmas day to show us the baby. she was happy and lit up, man. glowing. how pretty she locked. >> there was an argument in the family car around 10:00 on new year's eve and she and her

police around and around the neighborhood. it started at 7:30 when officers tried to stop a car that matched the description of a vehicle involved in an armed robbery. during the pursuit, a gun was stolen from the car. the vehicle crashed into a poll at connecticut and one person was arrested and he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and second suspect got away. a sheriff deputy is hospitalized after crashing his patrol car the at 7:30 county a deputy per sewered a stolen car eastbound highway 12 and the suspect tried to make a sharp turn but failed at pennsylvania avenue and the car ended up going into a field. the car crashed into a poll seriously injury the deputy. a statement says that the injuries are serious but not life threatening. two suspects are in custody. >> the family of a children-year-old girl declared brain dead hope to move her to a

this morning at 9:00, directors will meet in oakland to vote on the modified contract negotiated recently regarding paid family leave. the board earlier agreed to a deal minus the family leave which bart said was cloud by mistake. that set off worries over another strike. a settlement was reached last month. the union lowers are recommending ratification. their votes will not come until after the bart board totes. >> california is facing a record dry spell: 2013 was the driest sin the record keeping began 164 year ago bad news for the water supply. santa clara reservoir levels are dropping with the average at 33 percent a third of the total available capacity. it is no better in the sierra with the snow pack estimated at 20 percent of normal. the first snow survey of the season is tomorrow. >> mike, as a skier, i seem to remember one good year from the last four.
