>> we need to let the police department handle this. >> san francisco police say they routinely keep an eye on the consulate because there are protests here and they have increased security here today. we have seen officers out here all morning. the f.b.i. is the lead investigative agency and a spokesman tells me no arrests have been made, though threats have been made but they are working with the state department and local officials, the f.b.i. spokesman says they are taking this very seriously. thank you. the chinese consulate general in san francisco has seen several other incidents in the recent past. in march of 2008 the door was doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire. ahead of the beijing olympics that summer, and before the
