longer report her name or show you her picture. >> only thing i can think about doing was honking the horn. >> she started honking her car horn to alert police the moment she realized she may by park next to the suspect's car at the antioch marina. information was broadcast in an amber alert. >> that could be your child, your sister, your niece, you know? it could be so close to you. >> police located the car two blocks from the police station. >> i'm happy we found it anywhere, and the girl was returned safely to her family. >> police arrested the driver, david douglas. he has no connection to he family and is not a registered sex offender. the search for the girl began after police say douglas followed the family home from a shopping trip at wal-mart. when the mother was unloading

groceries, the suspect approached, grabbed the girl at gunpoint and drove off. police believe douglas tried to kidnap another child at the antioch wal-mart on thursday. surveillance video helped identify him. >> social services announced the daughter to come with him. the mother quickly realized he was not from social services and he left. >> the girl's family is requesting privacy but says she is happy to be home with her family. the police investigation continues. in antioch, abc7 news. >> to developing news. a polar cold blast is gripping much of the nation type of. school has been cancelled for monday chaos minnesota. the first state-wide closing in 17 years. all because of extreme low temperatures on the way. may not get any warmer than ten below on monday. in maine, many streets are already covered with snow. here's the story from chicago on

29 miles-per-hour, we're looking at wind chill factors, wind chill warnings at minus 45 degrees. you have to remember the most dangerous part of this is frostbite, and you can get that with exposed skip with temperatures below 32 degrees. so, definitely people are going to be having to bundle up there, obviously, or maybe just stay home. >> thank you so much. those bone-chilling temperatures could make for one of the coldest games in nfl history tomorrow, and the 49ers face the green bay packers at lambeau field for an nfc wild card game. it's now being called the arctic bowl. players will be huddling around giant heaters on the sidelines. nor the fans the packers plan to pass out 70,000 hand warmer packets that fit in gloves or boots and will provide free coffee and hot chocolate. >> niner fans are in green bay. they posted this video on twitter, showing a strong turnout of the 49ers faithful.

by a candle that fell over. a collision between an historyics muni street car and an 18 wheeler sent two people to the hospital. the truck turned in front of the street car. all four people on the trolley suffered minor injuries. the drivers were taken to the hospital. this happened on the embarcadero, a block from the exploratorium. car 152 is the original san francisco muni street car and turned 100 this year. a collision between a motorcycle and an elder pedestrian in san francisco injure both parties this afternoon. it happened at the corner of market and sixth street. the injuries appear to be nonlife-threatening. across the bay area last week, five people were killed and several more wounds in pedestrian collisions. a violent murder has left a small northern california city in shocked. >> we were absolutely stunned.

the big tip trend continues much to the delight of unsuspecting waiters and waitresses. in richmond, virginia, customer tipped samantha perez $500, and at job sites, it was matched, bringing the tip to a grand. the big tip is something seth collins has done 100 times in honor of his brother who died suddenly from cancer. samantha is appreciative of his generosity and plans to give some of the money away to help someone else. >> best thing that ever happened to me in my life. oh, my god. >> a similar practice called tips for jesus is also happening across the country, including here in the bay area. back to the arctic blast. crews near pittsburgh, pennsylvania, are adding another ingredient to road salt, beet juveniles it's supposed to help the salt work when temperatures are below 20 degrees.
