what the family wanted? >> the family is delighted. her uncle tweeted jahi mcmath is free from children's hospital oakland. he shot the video of ambulance carrying her away from children's hospital oakland. the family will not say where she was taken only saying another facility has agreed to care for her and she will have a feeding tube inserted this morning. her family believes she is still alive although doctors have declared jahi mcmath and the coroner issued a death certificate but the family is still praying for her recovery. >> if i can help her through another 10 years or on years or 40 years or 50 years, i would rather have that then see her taken away from the hospital in a bag the. >> the cause of death is pending. i asked that specific question of the coroner, what happens if and when we demonstrate she has

brain activity and they said, we will change it. >> the hospital released this statement, our hearts go out to the family as they grief for the sad situation and we wish them closure and peace. >> the tone for the relatives say they know they need a miracle and they say all they wanted was a chance. the family has launched a crowd funding page to cough the costs of moving jahi mcmath to a new facility and have raised $48,000. >> this began december 9th with surgery at children's hospital oakland. after the operation she went into cardiac arrest. the next day, a scan revealed two-thirds of her brain was swollen. on december 11, doctors declared her brain dead of the family began a legal fight to keep her on a ventilator and the court order keeping her on the haven't late would have expired tomorrow. we will follow the developing story with updates at abc7.com

traffic is moving smoothly through walnut creek on 680 and the further to oakland it is not a problem. 580, westbound from tracy to dublin is 26 minutes and highway 4, westbound from antioch to concord is 14 minutes and southbound from san rafael to the city is 16 minutes and this is the san mateo bridge where traffic is running smooth in the westbound direction toward the peninsula and only going to take you 12 minutes. >> a big detour today for drivers who commute to the bay area from the stockton area. highway 160 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., all week, and 160 connects highway twelve and highway 4, for road repairs. the detour will force some commuters to drive up to 80 extra miles with signs up alerting motorists to the detour

in san francisco there was a fatal stabbing inside an apartment building on market street. police responded to the building near the central freeway after 3:15 this morning. paramedics say the victim died at the scene. police are not releasing suspect information. >> a man who vanished from his parents' home, is safe after his family saw his picture in "usa today" after a photographer snapped this picture where homeless people gather when it

is combed the parents saw the picture and called police. officers took him to the hospital where he was reunited with his family. officials with east contra costa county fire department will present recommendations for a new tax to the board. the tax would keep the district five stations open. according to the newspaper it would start at $98 a parcel and climb to $111 by 2019 raising $23 million in new revenue. the board has scheduled a special meeting for february 24 to vote on whether to place the proposal on the june ballot. it was a good year for the cute animals displayed in macy's holiday windows in san francisco. this year a record 339 cats and dogs were adopted. the spca works with macy's to find homes for the kittens and puppies and are a holiday tradition. they say the adoptions held
