minus 60 degrees. the wind chill advisories are in place. >> there are more delays with the airlines as blizzards keep the airlines from getting up to speed impacting travelers in and around the bay area. our reporter, matt keller, joins us from san francisco international airport. matt, good morning. >> what a nightmare for travelers this week. today is another bad day for cancellations. the last hour we have seen double delays to 530 across the united states and the cancellations numbers are worse. 1,846 flights canceled in the united states today. at sfo 21 flights are canceled, oakland has four departures canceled. san jose, no cancellations but

it is early. passengers of jetblue suffered the most because they did not try to fly in and out of the northeast because of a new f.a.a. rule requiring more rest time so passengers are not leaving the bay area for several more days. [ inaudible ] >> there is no way i can be here four days. >> jetblue says they expect to be running at full capacity by this afternoon. some of the worst hit airports are in the midwest. half flights in and out of the cleveland and a third of the flights to and from chicago are canceled. a few dozennor delayed at the bay area airports. that number will increase through the morning. check with the airline before you leave home. happening now, charter buses are picking up 500 stranded passengers after three amtrak trains including one from the

bay area was stuck in illinois after hitting a 12' snow drift that paralyzed the engines starting at 1:00 o'clock our time yesterday. these are photos from people on board the california train headed from emeryville to chicago. amtrak says all passengers will be in chilling by noon which is 20 hours after they got stuck. >> pg&e crews are try to restore power to 2,000 people left in the dark. this is impacting customers in richmond. pg&e says the power went out at 3:00 this morning. the outage originally impacted 5,000 customers. there is in estimate when cruise will have the power back on. >> oakland police are investigating a shooting that occurred outside an east oak neighborhood market last night. a man was taken by ambulance from the royal market at 76th and mcarthur boulevard at 8:00 p.m. shot once. the condition, now, is unknown.

he was conscious and alert on the way to the hospital, shell casings at the store suggest the man was shot outside and ran inside. police have not released any suspect information. >> antioch police are crediting a target store employee for giving the tip they need to rescue a kidnapped girl the focus of amber alert on friday night. our reporter talks with the target worker being called a heroine. >> i did not get a good vibe. >> it is her job to prevent shoplifting and she says the man did not steal anything but she kept an cry on him anyway. >> i soon him grab the steering wheel and shake it like something was wrong. i thought, okay, something is wrong with this guy. >> roxanna took down his license plate and later her girlfriend read her the amber alert for an abducted seven-year-old girl. >> the car looked the same.

it could be the same person. my girlfriend said i should call. the driver matched the suspect's description, the 43-year-old antioch resident david douglas. >> when we knew would he was we learned additional information that gave us the wherewithal to go out and look for him at the antioch marina because that is where he liked to frequent. >> police arrested dougless at marina with the girl in the back seat of the car. he said that it was a cry for help to get out of a situation. police say roxanna's information was key to rescuing the girl. >> don't keep it to yourself. it was a good thing because i saved a little girl's life. >> the police thanked roxanna self tomorrows and they are calling her a true hero. police are discrediting a

woman on originally claims she helped locate the kidnapped girl and her suspected an deductor. she gave interviews to abc7 and other news agencies. detective say she played in role in the case and she is nut cooperating with the investigation. a founding member of the former black panther party will make a statement condemning the sight death of 13-year-old andy lopez at the sonoma county board of supervisors meeting. lopez was shot in october by sheriff deputy, erick gelhaus, walking through the neighborhood carrying a plastic rifle. erick gelhaus believed it was a real ak-47 and said he refused to drop it. activists have held several protests demanding justice and showing they are upset that erick gelhaus is on the job. >> richmond is experiencing a a significant drop in the murder rate. our media partner reports that the 16 homicides last year was the lowest number since 1980. the city mounted an organized

effort to halt street try lens using former gang members who work to keep peace by discouraging retaliation. there were five months without a single homicide. police credit the combination of enforcement, better community relations, and youth outreach programs. a former school aide in hayward goes to court facing eight felony child molestation counts. police say the 29-year-old is accused of having a two-year long sexual relationship with a student that began when the boy was 12. she was at hayward's all saints catholic school since 2005 and is jailed on $800,000 bond. police do not believe there are other victims. this morning, a school nurse in concord is credited with saving a child's life by performing cpr. radio transmission of four fighters tell the story of what happened after the child collapsed. >> unconscious. in the office. the nurse is starting cpr.

we have construction projects all over the bay area. we first look at one in san jose and we are headed into the east by as we check out 680 we have construction crews southbound 680 from sycamore valley road until 5:00 this morning. here is drive time track, 680, southbound, from walnut creek to dublin only taking you 14 minutes. despite the construction you are looking at a great drive. 101 santa rosa to san francisco, 51 minutes along northbound 17. we will look at the san mateo bridge where the drive is smooth sailing crossing the water to the peninsula it will only take 12 minutes from hayward to foster city. >> the mystery over the whereabouts of a 13-year-old oakland girl declared brain dead and how her family says she is being cared for and why they are blaming children's hospital

covering walnut creek, burlingame, campbell and all the bay area this is abc7 news. >> a hearing is scheduled for today in the case of 13-year-old jahi mcmath has been canceled since she has been moved out of children's hospital oakland. she was declared brain dead after complications from tonsil surgery. the family will not say where she is now but they were in los angeles last night. >> very sad. she smiled all the time.

>> he broke down on cnn describing his niece, the 13-year-old was taken away from children's hospital oakland in the back of an ambulance. this is cell phone video provided to us by her uncle saying the family is holding out hope that she will recover. >> we believe as long as her heart is pumping she is alive. as long as mitosis' heart is beating he is alive. >> the family and the attorney asked the nutrition be given to her by children's and they said because the hospital would provide neither she is in bad shape. >> he is being disingenuous. he is deceased. unfortunately, a body and this is in the court statements we filed on friday, her body is deteriorating. that is the natural course events when a person is deceased. >> in papers filed in federal court by children's hospital oakland, doctors say jahi mcmath's body was unable to regulate temperature and they could not correct or improve the

manifestation of the post-mortem deterioration. the hospital released jahi mcmath to the coroner who then released her to her mother's custody. the family attorney says jahi mcmath now is getting nutritional support and antibiotics to fight infection. >> we wanted to have her per have the ability to make a choice, whether her daughter would stay on or come off of a ventilator. a man charged in the killing of a beloved northern california priest. bull look says he didn't do it. the 44-year-old is accused of killing reverend freed on new year's day. the coroner says the reverend freed was beaten to death with a wooden stick and a pipe. he was laid to rest year. hundreds gathered to say goodbye bullock pleaded not guilty with bail set at $1.2 million. >> san francisco has seen an

increase in the number of private shuttle buses rating in the city and now it plans to make them pay not privilege. the mayor lee says google and other high-tech companies will pay the city a fee if they use muni bus stops to pick up or drop of 50 employees. the fee will cost larger companies $100,000 a year and generate $1.5 million for the city. the shuttle buses have been controversial and, intoed protests -- and sparked protest they keep 100,000 cars of 50 the street. the companies recognize they have to pay their fair share of maintaining treats. >> >> the 49ers preparing for the game against the panthers in charlotte on sunday and getting the pack ready, just in case, with the outside chance the title game could be played in two weeks at the stick if the 49ers beat the panthers and the saints beat the favored seahawks. the 49ers coach reflected on

we do have construction around the bay area, and in accidents to report. 80 westbound from highway 4 to the hoffman split up to 580 we have lanes blocked off until 5:00, most of our projects around the bay area are going to be lasting until action and wrapping up in ten minutes from now. in the north byes santa rosa, 101 through rohnert park, petaluma, northbound direction, everything is moving along at top speed bringing it down to the south from novato, into lucas valley it is clear. across the richmond and san rafael bridge, not too bad going outside and here is san jose northbound 87 beyond the julian street off-ramp a couple of cars in the northbound direction and in delays at the tank. >> this morning in idaho a bus crash is under investigation after it slammed into a building
