live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. at 6:00, another fatal accident on san francisco streets and police say the driver had no time to react. and flu fears are spreading across the country and at home after another flu death. >> much of the country is waking up to another day of bitterly cold temperatures but relief is ahead. >> for us, you can see our weather is different. but not enough of a difference to make a difference. no relief from the drought. we have a lot of humidity hanging in the air. it is making for reduced visibility in some areas and fairfield is 1.25, and two in napa and three in novato and san jose, and four in mountain view and santa rosa and everyone also is okay with the moisture lingering. you may need to use your wipers. misty this morning.

highway 17 through the santa cruz mountains is 22 minutes to los gatos. san francisco police are investigating another pedestrian accident. it happened on one of the busiest streets and our reporter is on van ness avenue. it happened in the shadow of city hall where city lowers are very concerned about the issue of pedestrian safety. police say the driver of the car that hit the man did not have time to react and they say she did stop and she cooperated with the police and they do not think she was drinking but called this a terrible accident. a 38-year-old man ran across van ness last night after 6:00. he made it to the median but he crossed the next set of lanes he was hit and not in a crosswalk. >> when trying to go from the center median to the east side of van ness and made it across two lanes and struck in the far

right hand lane, the third lane. >> he was the 6th pedestrian to die in san francisco in the last three weeks. one victim was a child dying on new year's eve the day before her 7th birthday. she was in a crosswalk with her family. we have a map showing the locations of. >> the deadly accidents in the past throw weeks. this has the attention of city hall. the mayor says he is going to make pedestrian safety an issue to focus on this year. you can expect an announcement on the issue from him in the next couple of weeks. happening today, oakland police will release new information in the murder of a man would was killed after a fender bender. the 22-year-old was fatally shot at stanford avenue and market street in june moments after the car was rear ended. someone from the other vehicle got out and opened fire.

jose and fairfield is the challenging spot at 1.25 because of low cloud. it looks like summer outside this morning and it feels like it, too, with the temperatures in the 50's. emeryville, we can see egg. the fog has lifted. it will lit for all of us between 9:00 and 10:00 with a cloudy and cooler afternoon by three to five degrees. patchy fog and drizzle and better chance of more wide help spread moisture that could make our treats shake and make you use the wipers more tomorrow morning. our best chance of rain is saturday in the north bay and record high temperatures are back in the forecast next week. temperatures in the upper 50's to near 60 degrees, with mid-60's the cooler spot at the coast and tonight mild again with most of us in the 40's and a few 30's around napa and santa rosa and that is it. a weaker system plowing through

dominant. leyla gulen? >> a brand new accident westbound four making the transition to westbound 80 a report of a vehicle that flipped. it is on the roof. the driver was able to crawl out so no reports of injuries but we do have one lane blocked because of that flipped vehicle and it could be due to moist conditions on the road. be very careful. this is the bay bridge toll with the metering lights turned on. you can see track is, behalfing up from the maze and the fast track lane is not so backed up as the cash. the when span shows how traffic is heavy and it is thinning out a bit but much more, withed up earlier because of an early sig-alert on southbound 101 but that has cleared and all lanes are re-opened. first lady is ready to return to the bay area. when she is coming and how long she will be here and what is on her trip.
