at the san jose area at alum rum, we have a four car crash. >> three new cars are adding to the urgency of the search of a serial arsonist with ten intentional fires in a few days. it is only a matter of time before someone is hurt. amy hollyfield has the latest in san jose. good morning, i have an update from the last report. a fire truck pulled out of the station and we found out where they went we, the fire was happening at an area outside of a building and it was put out before it spread. too early to tell if it is the work of an arsonist but the firefighters have been busy and think the fire bug has set a dozen fires since when. word is getting out, there are flyers and the community is

activitily spreading them out with a sketch of what he looks like. he is tall. at least 6'. he is very thin, probably 25 to 40 years old. they have video of him from a surveillance video with a man pacing across from a house that soon after was set on fire. all of the fires since wednesday have people here feeling on edge. >> it is unnerving for everyone. >> he has been destroying people's home. people should not live in fear. >> community has more eyes to want the streets and lock around and make sure everyone is safe. it is great to help out. investigators say the mystery is, why? they don't though what the motive could be behind the fires. they are talking to witnesses, they are looking at video and doing what they can. they think it is just a matter of time before they find him and they are asking anyone with

information to come forward with a reward offered $10,000 for the person who can lead them to the arsonist. in walnut creek, firefighters took 30 minutes to knock down flames that ripped through three adjoining carports in a retirement community. the fire started before 7:00 this a carport but no one was hurt. >> you fatal fire that killed two people in palo alto, officials were over the week investigating a garage where several mistick jugs were found filled with chemicals. new information will be released today. >> this morning, the san francisco 49ers are a victory away from returning to the super bowl. touchdown! >> the 49ers came from behind again yesterday to capture a lay off victory over the panthers at 23-10 for the final. 49ers take on the seahawks

glass where three cars were tangled up with backups away from crow canyon road and bumper-to-bumper remark at 17 miles per hour and then it is stop-and-go traffic. in san jose, this is a problem, new, for quite a while, northbound 101 a now car crash at alum rock leaving one lane block and eight miles per hour is the top somebody with backup away from yerba buena island. the commute has doubled, 10185 to 880, use 87 instead. the 101, it is if trouble. kristen and matt? >> the search for a serial arsonist in san jose has firefighters and members of the community on high alert. as we saw an hour ago, firefighters are not taking any chances with fire calls. our reporter is if san jose with that story. >> they went to a second alarm for a fire and this is the time he strikes between 2:00 and 5:00 in the only as firefighters

point out when people are at the most vulnerable and the fire was outside a home and firefighters get it out before it get to the house. too early to tell if it was the work of the arsonist but they would not be surprised with three fires set yesterday and a dozen since wednesday and one person who lives next door to a home set on fire used a water hose to put it out and a portable building at the church was set on fire the second time the church has been hit. a mobile home park yesterday was hit, and residents say they are on edge. >> you see someone that should not be there acting suspicious going into the driveways and knowing they should not be there, that is something to report. >> here is what they are handing out around san jose including a sketch of what we this think the suspect looks like. police say you are looking for a very tall man. he is probably at least 6' tall. he is very thin. they used surveillance video to

come up with this description and the sketch. they have video showing the man pacing outside a home that was later set on fire. they are offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can lead temperature to the person setting the fires. they think it is a matter of time necessity this will catch him. in mountain view, a fire behind an auto body shop destroyed at at least three cars and fire investigators are not sure how the file started. they were called to the scene at 3:30. there are no injuries reported. the investigation is just underway. a home is a total loss after a fire raced through it last note at 10:00. fire crews have been there all night to make sure it does not flare-up again. firefighters say the two people who live at the home were returning from out of town. the san francisco 49ers are
