good morning. i'm cheryl jennings. and i'm matt keller. the flu continues to take a toll on people in the bay area. >> two more people have died from the flu. officials say they're 51 and 62 years old, but have not released any other information. >> this brings the total number of people kill ltd by the flu to 13 in the bay area with several other deaths under investigation.

doctors say this year's flu strain is challenging and is affecting young adults and children. thai warning residents about a mystery arsonist that threatened lyes and destroyed homes and buildings. authorities do have a suspect on surveillance video. amy? >> reporter: and city hall is now getting involved. and firefighters think that could be making a difference they say it doesn't look like the arsonist struck this morning. it's been 24 hours, and they say that's good news. the community has handed out 3,500 fliers about this guy. they also handed out smoke detectors and batteries so residents can be residentdy. they have a sketch of what they think the suspect looks like. they say he's tall, at least 6

feet tall and very thin. they believe he has set 15 fires since wednesday. they are asking people to volunteer to stay up for shifts overnight. community involvement could be making a difference. >> we don't want people out there walking around on the street at night. we don't want people driving around at night. it just makes the police job more difficult. >> nothing has happened within the last 24 hours thankfully. so again, hopefully with all the information that is out there so far and the neighborhoods and the community are being more vigilant and keeping an eye open, perhaps it slowed this person down. >> reporter: they're asking for overnight individual leps because that's when he strikes. they have surveillance video of the man they believe is responsible. they want people to know that investigators are busy. thai looking at video, they're

43. oakland hills running around 25. the gusts will be out there for the better part of today and tonight. they're dry, they're coming in from the northeast, so the fire weather watch has been upgraded to a red flag warning. high fire conditions will be present during that time. back to you. >> all right, mike. for the second time in less than a week, foster farms has suspended operations because of cockroaches. the company closed the plant yesterday. it was first shut down last wednesday after a cockroach infestation raised concerns about food safety. production is being temporarily shifted to other central valley plants. sources close to the investigations into the data breaches at target and knee man marcus say the three stores are

abc news reporter shows us the big winners and how they're celebrating. >> reporter: the 1970s con artist comedy danced its way to victory at the golden globe awards. two of its stars also took home trophies. amy adams and jennifer lawrence had big plans to celebrate. >> drink a lot of champagne and try to get home with some dignity. >> i normally have time to have a glass of wine. that's not a good answer. can i -- i'm going to celebrate with my friends and family. >> reporter: best actor in comedy category, leonardo dicaprio. >> i'm just thankful that he's still this punk rock, still this vital at 71 years old.

move forward and talk about some of our temperatures around. look at how much warmer we are, like all the 60s around the bay shore. you're close, 59 and 58. the cool spot, fairfield at 52. look at these temperatures. 11 degrees warmer than just 24 hours ago. half moon bay, the only place really cooler is fairfield, but you'll catch up in the next couple hours or so. this is what downtown san jose looks like this morning. high pressure returns. it's going to dominate our forecast so much that the air is going to stagnate. possibly wednesday and thursday, maybe friday for the poor air quality. and the weekend, we'll get a binned shift, which means cooler, cleaner air, but the chance of rain has really

fizzled. winds are gusting 25 to 35 miles per hour. temperatures are running 4 to 6 degrees warmer than they were just 24 hours ago. look at all those mid to upper 60s today. now tonight, temperatures will be mild once again, into the 40s. some sheltered valleys may drop into the 30s. we'll get the high fire danger starting at 10:00 tonight. he's the way it looks from the water vapor. you can see the storm track clearly to the north. it's because of this we're going to see that high pressure lockdown and keep is in that -- that dry and above average. if you hit the h, we'll go straight to the 7-day forecast. what it's going to show you is temperatures are going to be well above average. 70s on tuesday, wednesday and
