yesterday, the tree came on down not because it was cold and wet and the ground was wet from all the rain it fell over which is what you would expect to see but it was dry and windy at 3:30 in the afternoon, two trees in. berkeley neighborhood fell down and no one was hurt. the winds were worse with 50 miles per hour gusts last note, and this is not what people would expect to see in mid-january. it was a shock. >> i could hear the tree breaking and i felt something would happen. i looked from the window and i realized it wasn't rain. it was actually just wind. it was so noisy it sounded like a rainstorm. >> the high winds combined with the dry weather equal a red flag warning in place until thursday night for east bay hills and north bay. all in the middle of what is

supposed to be the rainy season. there is no rain in the forecast. a house fire in antioch led to a marijuana grow with the electric panel sparking and the neighbor called 9-1-1. a number of marijuana plants were found. the firefighters called police. pg&e worker inspected the panel to see if that sparked the fire. the lighting caused household electrical wiring to overheat. people living in san jose are staying awake taking around-the-clock shifts to keep an i out for a serial arsonist to keep him from striking again. the first bug is behind a dozen fires the past week. >> i am upset because i had walls and walls of family photographs.

good morning, here is a look at the eastern span of the if you bay bridge. you can see traffic is moving well this morning. it could be quite breezy out there. we have red flags in the north bay mountains and east bay hills, the diabolo range. be careful. fire danger is high in mid-january. mike nicco will have the forecast coming up. the bay area bicycle share program is successful. the $1 million pilot program has logged 100,000 trips in the first four months. the bicycles are intended if short trips of 30 minutes or less for $9. the roth is started at the end of august with 700 bicycles at 70 kiosks including san francisco, san jose, and palo alto and the program will be expanding this year.
