forecast. than you, everyone. we will talk about the dry ground and how it is yielding high fire danger because of the winds in the mountains and hills through 8:00 tomorrow morning. we have another 27 hours of high fire danger north bay mountains and east bay hills and diabolo range. record highs are possible under total sunshine and in the low-to-mid 70's with only a few places along the coast that only reach the upper sits. leyla gulen? >> we have a big problem in berkeley, everyone, at 5:01. in eastbound 80 at the berkeley curve we had a light pole that was hit and went down in the lanes and a bunch of cars ran into it and debris is everywhere. flight tires everywhere. we have two lanes blocked until further notice with electrical crews headed out there to see if there are live wires. the sig-alert will be in effect

until further notice. eastbound and westbound highway 12 between highway 29 and red top road is reopened and the san jose bridge is moving fine across the peninsula at 12 minutes from hayward. developing news in milpitas, a motel is on lockdown after a man was shot and killed in the parking lot and it happened at the executive inn hotel on dempsey road. ones heard arguing and the sound of four gunshots at 10:30, and the victim is described as in his early to mid-20's. police are not sure if he was a guest or visiting the hotel. matt keller is on the scene. he will have a report next half hour. the san francisco police bomb squad is looking at roars after officers debt natured -- detonated an explosive device and got more then they bargained for. amy hollyfield is near the scene. amy? >> good morning, eric.

they detonate add bomb. you can see the damage. this market has significant damage with a broken window and a home next to it where they did the detonation and there is a lot of damage there. it is still proposed off at 46 and judah. police got the call from a family cleaning out the house and found a suspicious device and decided to call the police. the bomb squad decided the safest thing to do what evacuate people in the area and detonate it. >> we got outside they asked us to move down some and we heard a big explosion and they had told us there was a bomb square and everyone was shook up. >> no one was hurt. they had a fire that started at 8:45 but the fire department got it out in ten minutes. they still have the san francisco police mobile command

unit on the scene and they still have the area proposed off but they say this area is now secure. >> reporting in san francisco for abc7 news. >> a winter high fire danger certificate in effect and firefighters are on alert watching the remnants of the destructive fire near antioch. katie marzullo is in the newsroom with the latest. >> investigators have narrowed the cause and say it was started by transients and that matches us with we her, a neighbor found a scatter in the cabin and he was burning something. firefighters stayed on the island until after 9:00 putting out hotspots hours after the fire started. this a view with flames erupting at 3:00 p.m. and spread by winds through the dry brush on the island. 40 to 50 acres burned before crews got it under fire with the help of a helicopter. there were 11 people on the

suspects. >> this afternoon, a san jose city council committee will take up a land for the miffs to wear body mounted cameras when on patrol. a handful of officers have worn cameras as part of a test project. the mayor reed supports the idea but she the city has to fine the money to buy the cameras. the new cameras are smaller, cost less and produce a higher quality image than old are versions. a man accused of kidnapping a young antioch girl will be arraigned, the 43-year-old faces six felony charges related to john 3 kidnapping including allegations he tried to molest the seven-year-old victim and for possessing child pornography. dougless took the girl to her front yard with a pipe after following her and her mother home from antioch wal-mart store. he told abc7 news in an interview the little girl willfully went with him and he had no intention of harming.

first 9-1-1 calls came in. officers and paramedics arrived at the executive inn hotel at 10:30 and found the victim lying in a parking lot with a gun shot wound a man in his early to mid-20's and police not slur if he was a guest or just visiting. i spoke with a man who stayed overnight and he did not want to go on camera but he heard an argument and gunshots. >> there was an altercation but we are not sure who the players are and what the argument was about. >> a lieutenant told me investigators talked with people staying in the hotel to get as much information as possible and are still being allowed to stay inside of the rooms and they are working on limited information describing the suspect vehicle as a dark sedan. mill will be on the scene for several hours. breaking news in oakland, all lanes of eastbound 580 at

edwards avenue are re-opened after a man was hit and killed on the freeway. the c.h.p. says the man if his 30's staggered on to 580 at 1:00 o'clock, two minutes later he was hit by a car and died. the driver would hit him is cooperating with vest girls. c.h.p. is looking into whether the hand was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he staggered on to the freeway. >> there are questions this morning about san francisco bomb squad procedures after they detonated a device in the sunset district that caused considerable damage. this is a look at the damage at the market on 46th with family members cleaning out a home of a man who died some time ago and found something suspicious and called police much the bomb squad evacuated the area and dealt natured the device at 9:00 last night but the blast was strong enough to shalter windows and break bolts and -- break bottles and crack the plaster. amy hollyfield will have more at
