record for sal nichlt as airport. i'll be back to show how long this hot, dry spell will last. >> thank you. >> for skiers dry winter hasn't been a complete bust. we'll have the story for you coming up later. >> a man accused of setting 12 fires in san jose over five days is now being held on $1 million bail the 48-year-old registered sex offender has been charged with lighting two of those fires. abc7 news is live at the san jose mobile home park where this guy was arrested. vic? >> reporter: this mobile home park is close to where fires were set, police say they recovered evidence in the trailer that links him to fires but won't go into detail. it's good old fashioned police work led to his arrest. investigators going door to door asking neighbor what's they knew about the suspected fire bug. police

arrested the 48-year-old patrick brenan yesterday, and booked him on two counts of arson. one fire destroyed the commercial warehouse, causing $5 million in damages. and another ravaged this house on east st. john street. a home where vincent and sharon shared more than six decades >> he has to be sad. normal sane people don't go aaround and burn down things. >> since last week, cops and firefighters have been conducting an exhaustive investigation they passed out skechz of the fire bug. there is security video of a man pacing near a house later catching on fire. citizens were vigilant. it was a hard working sargeant on the midnight beat identifying brenan. he searched a law enforcement data bank on a hunch. >> we have data bases that are used by officers, arsonists have

to register. >> he found the mug that looked like a sketch, he lived in the area where fires were occurring. police arrested him in his trailer. his neighbors say brennan seemed to be unstable and a loner. >> lonely. and he did everything at night. >> like a halfway house person. won't talk to you unless he'd go by. won't say hi. >> the suspect has prior arrests n 1999, charged with setting 16 wildfires in the south bay. at a rate of one per week this, is how he appeared in a sketch police distributed at the time. compare that to the most recent one. authorities say you'll probably be charged later with setting fire to most, if not all of ten other recent fires in the neighborhood. near downtown san jose. among them, a blaze that swept through a portable building in the back of a church, a church that is right across the railroad tracks from the mobile home park where he

lives. vic lee, abc7 news. >> one of the suspects in an infamous and outrageous gang rape in richmond five years ago will spend years in prison of the, six years in prison part of a plea deal. 2009 gang rape of a 16-year-old richmond high school student parked outrage across the country. the 26-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of sex with an intoxicated person. four others are serving decades in prison for theed attack on the girl. a sixth is awaiting trial. >> tonight the mother of a man killed during a robbery attempt this morning is making a plea to find her son's kill yefrment the 24-year-old brandon clemens died just after midnight. authorities have not released many details but the victim's mother tells us her son was headed home with a friend and they were confronted by someone that held them up the robber shot clemens when he refused to hand over his wallet and backpack. his mother says her son died a hero.

record highs and mild to warm throughout the weekend, martin luther king holiday on monday, and there is still no rain in the forecast future, satellite shows huge area of high pressure is the dominant picture. the pattern going to hold several days, speaking of patterns we've got a pattern of warm, dry winds continuing to flow that worsened drought condition as cross california. let's take a look at last week well. had drought covering gusts but this large area of the central part of the state and has expired to cover three quarters of the state. that is how dry conditions are cross the western west. overnight tonight, clear skies, we'll see low temperatures ranging widely from upper 20s to

around 30 to upper 30s inland east bay to low to mid-40s around the bay to 50 degrees on the coast. tomorrow, another sunny, warm, perhaps record-setting day. low to mid-70s also low to mid-70s on the peninsula and on the coast. up to 74 in half moon bay tomorrow. check this out low to mid-70s on the north coast z low 70s inland. east bay highs, low 70s. and here is the accu-weather forecast. this pattern of high temperatures holds throughout the weekend and into next week. finally mid week next week with a few clouds coming into the sky. we'll see temperatures dropping below 70 degrees but not by much. it's not a dramatic change. still no rain making systems >> warm, too. thank you. >> still coming up movie magic of industrial light and magic.
