illustrate how try it is. >> this weather pattern has not allowed our seasonal rains to arrive. >> according to the fire department the lack of rain, live fuel, and dry conditions can be blamed for a fire that burn along this stretch of fairfax road. >> with the combination of all of this has allowed fires like this happen in january. >> flames destroyed an acre of this thick, heavy brush, before crews got it under control. die brush from the drought feeds the fire, and fighting the fire feeds the drought. >> the worst in california has ever seen. >> the governor says drought is covering two-thirds of the state and is urging people to cut down water use by 20%. >> alpine dam, the water levels are low. >> water levels that have been known to rise several feet high in spots, look like wading pool.

of newsom investigator saws the four alarm fire broke out in the kitchen area before the restaurant opened. three workers were inside at the time. >> they tried to fight the fire themselves. they tried to hit it with extinguishers, but they couldn't get control so they rap across the street and notified firefighters. >> crews arrived on scene a minute later to find thick smoke billowing from all sides of the restaurant. 75 firefighters battled the friars more than -- the blaze more than an hour. no one was her. damage is experimented at a million dollars. 21 people are dead, including three americans, after a brazen terror attack in a highly guarded area of kabul, afghanistan. it happened at this restaurant. a popular place to dine among foreign civilians. a taliban suicide bomber blew himself up at the front entrance while two gunmen stormed through the back door and opened fire. at least two of the u.s.

accident happened yesterday morning. no one onboard the train was hurt. san francisco police are back on the scene of a crash involving a motorcyclists and a car that happened yesterday afternoon around 3:15. officers say they're hoping to find additional witnesses. the motorcyclists suffered life-threatening injuries and is being treated app at san francisco general hospital. the police department would like anyone with information to give them a call. the california department of public health is reporting a significant increase in the number of flu deaths. the department reports a total of 45 confirmed flu-related deaths in california. an additional 50 cases are pending confirmation. at this time last year, the number of fatal flu case statewide was five. here in the bay area, county health departments report a total of 23 flu deaths. the latest victims are two south bay women, ages 52 and 62. in just a few hours,

california's obamacare health exchange web site will temporarily stop accepting applications. it is scheduled to go offline from 9:00 tomorrow to 5:00 a.m. tuesday morning forking maintenance and upgrades. people will be able to access the site for information bull we will not be able to enroll in health care. the national site experienced a number of access issues but no such problems with california's web site. an e-mail sent by target to some 70 million customer who may have been affected bay data breach is backfiring. target says the e-mail, which offers free credit monitoring services to potential victims, is legitimate. however, some are worried the e-mail could contain a virus. the retail giant admits in recent weeks it has stopped more than a dozen scam operations targeting breach victims by e-mail, phone calls and text messages. credit card information forced some target customers were stolen between november 27th

and it is only 17% of normal for this time of year. last year, it was 111% of normal. so that's why extreme drought conditions, the possibility of really having to do our due diligence in terms of conserving water is going to begin and has already begun across the bay area. beautiful sky from our mt. tam cam and temperatures right now 56 in san francisco, oakland, 71. a pair of 60s in san jose and another nice shot from the sutro cam. santa rosa right now, 67. 64 in petaluma. livermore, 65. very mild across the bay area. we'll keep it mild tonight. as well as tomorrow. don't forget tomorrow is another "spare the air" day. mild to warm as we continue into this holiday weekend and it's dry, mild weather what concern is staying with us for at least the next couple of weeks.

lows, toothier coolest spots where the wind is calm in the 20s, and extreme north bay communities and mid-to-low 40s, here's a look at the water vapor imagery. you can gate sense of that ridge of high pressure just pushing the storm track to the north. look at all of this dry air and that's exactly what has settled over the bay area, and it will continue to stay in place as i said. at least for the next six to ten days. a bubble of warm air, slight offshore winds and that's contributing to some of that dry conditions as well as those mild temperatures. three months outlook, doesn't look good. above normal temperatures foremost the southwest, including the bay area, and looking out in terms of precipitation, we're still going to remain well below where we should be for this time of the year. speaking of this time of the year, it's time for a the big playoff, sf and the hawks. chilly tomorrow. sunset at 4:51. the temperature gametime,
