live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> tuesday at 5:00. good morning, and thanks for joining us. >> yes, we can see record temperatures again today. something you have heard before. >> you have probably heard it eight consecutive times because that is how many times we have had, eight days in a row, record temperatures. today will be nine. low clouds are hugging the peninsula coast off the coast. they are going to bring a little bit cooler weather today. the rest of us have high clouds and sunshine and check out the records: 71 in oakland and napa

is 69. upper 60 to low 70's but the coast will have low-to-upper 60 depending on how much sunshine you receive. tuesday morning, back to work. here is leyla. >> back to work tuesday. we have a couple of accidents getting us going this morning with a brand new one in san jose. this is at the beginning of highway 87 a car has spun out facing the wrong direction. it doesn't sound like there are injuries reported but there are possible lanes blocked so if you need to make it to highway 87 expect delays. highway four from antioch to hercules is a quick 28 minutes and to i-80 from highway four to the maze is 15 minutes. back to san jose along 87, so when you hop on the freeway to san jose you are under ten minutes. from oakland, authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting. the california highway patrol

says an officer opened fire near east 15th street and 57th avenue at 3:00 this morning. that followed a short chase on city streets that reached speeds of 50 miles per hour. this is video of the scene in to the newsroom. no officers were injured but we don't know if the suspect was shot. we will bring you more information as we get it. happening today, san francisco transportation officials vote on a deal allowing the silicon valley buses to use city bus stops. for a price. amy hollyfield has details from san francisco. >> google has been encouraged the employees to come to the meeting at city hall and testify for the buses. tech companies use the buses to shuttle employees from san francisco to silicon valley. the buses have been controversial. they use muni bus stops and some are upset about that and there

have been protesting saying private buses should not be allowed to use public bus stops. the municipal transportation agency's board will vote on whether to charge a dollar a day per stop and whether the buses need to obtain a city permit. some say they do not think that is enough money or it will result in meaningful revenue for muni. some officials say they believe this is a good start to regulate the buses. the meeting is set for 1:00 o'clock this afternoon at city hall. bicycle and pedestrian advocates are planning a rally at san francisco city hall in the wake of several recent deaths. 21 pedestrians and four bicyclists were killed in collisions with cars last year. that includes a six-year old girl fatally struck by a uber driver on new year's eve. they are calling on safety

improvements at the intersections with great police enforcement and education on commercial drivers. a man is dead and another seriously injured after being struck by a caltrain at the santa clara station. an express train traveled at 50 miles per hour when it hit the men. one died from the impact. the other is treated for multiple leg fractures. it is not clear why the two men were on the tracks. caltrain officials are calling the incident "inbound." it involved two people so it is unusual. >> back east, classes at widener university in philadelphia will resume after a shooting on campus while sitting in his car yesterday evening. the student managed to dial 9-1-1 and is treated at the hospital and will survive. >> police are reviewing surveillance video to track down the shooter. a lockdown was if place until 3:00 this morning but that has

fractures. it is now clear where they were on the streets. >> san francisco transportation officials today vote to allow the silicon valley employee shuttle buses to use city bus stops for a price. amy hollyfield is in san francisco with more. amy? >> city hall insiders think this will pass today, but, city, google has encouraged the employees to show up today for the hearing and giving them some talking points so they can testify today in favor of the shuttle buses. some people in the city don't like them and there have been profits around them. people have blocked them from departing from the city. tech companies use them to shut employees from san francisco to silicon valley and the argument, though, is that the employees would get in their cars without the buses so this is the environmentally friendly opening. they use public muni bus stops
