because of a solo accident and ahead we have a fire at a mole home park and amy hollyfield is headed out there. firefighters found a large marijuana grow at a home after flames were coming from the radio of the house. when the firefighters when inside they discovered the pot grow and investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the fire. they are checking the home's electrical system to see if it has been tampered with. >> in the north bay we have talked about firefighters in san rafael contained a mar be fire that burned for a couple of hours near interstate 580 with this video showing what drives along westbound 580 saw north of the freeway. the drivers say they could see the flames from the richmond san

and i am nervous, i don't know why. there are nerves in the air but the excitement is building. the swells are building. we will see images like this, video from years' past of the maverick competition with 24 big wave surfers from around the world and include the bay area competing in six heats and the finals will start around 1:30 this afternoon and the waves forecasted to have 40' to 50' face. surfers arrived yesterday and we talked to jamie of hawaii, who is happy to be in the first heated. >> i am in the boat watching. my nerves are more intense and i am more nervous watching. this is a nice way and the winds will be lighter at the start of the morning. >> if we can come out here you will see the surfers headed down

but one lane is still mced with delays. it will take 3 minutes from tracy to dublin so traffic is lighter and heavier on 101 season from san rafael to san francisco. eric and kristen? breaking news from vallejo, firefighters are at the scene of a mobile home fire that threatened an apartment complex. amy hollyfield joins us and just arrived at the scene. >> this was a double-wide trailer and now it is gone, the fire will spread to the trees hype it and look next door, the home next to it also has severe damage. it is still standing but just barely. there were three people living inside the next door home and they get out okay with still pictures of the fire. you can see how huge it was. firefighters were told the double wide was empty for the year but the transients had been seen sleeping here and that is

part of their investigation to see if that is possibly what caused this. they got the call at 5:10 and when to a second alarm because this is an apartment complex behind it and we take our picture with the camera focused on the apartment complex, a big one, and they were worried because the embers were blowing that way and they knocked on the doors and got people aware of what was beginning on and did not evacuate because they got the fire knocked down so no one was hurt. a lost damage was done. however, the woman next door says she is feeling grateful everyone is okay and although her home is damaged she thank them because she was happy her mother's jewelry was sinned and -- saved and not damaged. firefighters are mopping out to trying out the cause of the fire. an update from breaking news from the north bay, a marsh fire

during the bart shooting, they were not wearing their cameras or they did not turn them on. sergeant tom smith was the shooting victim and officer michael maes is identified as the officer who fired the shot while searching for stolen property in dublin on tuesday. yesterday at the board meeting the chief rainey confirmed two officers wearing cameras but the chief did not know if they were recording at the time. an autopsy confirms sergeant smith was killed by one bullet to the cleft and wearing a bullet-proof vest that passed through a gap in the vest. officials have fought revealed whether he fired by mistake or mistook smith for someone else. maes worked with smith on the oscar grant case. his attorney told abc7 news that his client is greening -- grieving and his heart goes out
