destruction and growing pot. cornell bernard is live tonight. you spoke to some of his friends? reporter: i did, and his friends and former classmates cannot believe that this is the same teen they went to high school with just last year. this is where he lived with his family for the last several years, he recently went off to college. >> i was completely speechless and freaking out, my god, knew his kid. >> this senior can't believe her friend was arrested back east, suspected of building bombs. he was going to college studying engineering in altoona, pennsylvania, where employing charged him with possessing weapons of mass destruction, bomb found in his suitcase was disarmed. andrew lives in the same apartment building as the bomb suspect. >> he is just like always doing outside things but nothing

dangerous. he is a dangerous kid. >> according to a criminal complaint, the russian national purchased bomb-making materials on the internet. when asked by investigators what he was going to do with them he said he was going to blow things up. he was borne -- born in moscow but lived in san carlos at the door. >> quiet, did his work, came to class every day. >> hi graduated karl mont high school last spring, former classmates and friends are painting a much different picture of the teen. >> he said nothing about weapons in general or bombs or anything. we were just talking about random stuff, school. >> the teen told police he experimented with explosives in california but was not specific. he is being held on

$500,000 bail in san carlos. abc7 news. a shopping mall in maryland remaybes close following the murder of two employees of a skateboard shop. the kill is was identified as 19-year-old dareon aguilar of college park, maryland, suburb of washington, dc, about 20 miles from the mall. police are now trying to determine what his connection was to the two victims, man and woman, in their 20s. aguilar used a shotgun to kill them and was also carrying a backpack filled with explosives police have been searching the mall to make sure he didn't plant any devices. >> san jose police are investigating a deadly stabbing. at 1:30 this morning officers respond to the piedmont hills neighborhood and arrested a this home -- arrived at this home and found a man suffering from a stab wound. witnesses say fight broke out another a 24th birthday party. the host asked everyone to leave.

pants. too california be on the verge of aing me good mega drought. the dry spiel we're in now has lasted only a couple of years but after studying tree rings, one expert says we're on pace to hey the driest rainfall season since 1580. more than 400 years ago. water officials in marin county will meet on tuesday in what's being billed as a drought summit. the drought hat cut marin reservoir levels in half and has dried aunt% of the county's pasture hand. the summit will address the dramatic depletion of the local water supply. governor province calling for a 20% voluntary cutback in water use. there is a hint of moisture in the bay area forecast but not enough to make up for the rainfall deficit. we continue to set record high

temperatures. leigh glaser is here with live doppler 7hd. >> you probably noticed today some of the clouds moving around the bay area. looked like it could possibly rain out there, but not so. these are mainly just high clouds. you see on live doppler 7hd. but you're exactly right, another day of record-high temperatures. 68 today goes down as a record for sap rafael. 73, oakland museum. 71 san hoe -- san jose, gilroy, 77. san francisco 66. tied an old record. livermore, 72. that tied a record as well. we do have a chance of seeings' rain return to the bay area this week. we'll look at the seven-day forecast shortly. the weather could have major impact on the super bowl next sunday in new york, new jersey. it's the first time it's ever been scheduled outdoors and there's been talk of moving the

a pregnant woman declared brain dead in texas has now been taken off life support. marlise a pub wyoming was being kept alive at a fort worth hospital under a state law that requires them to protect the lives of unborn babies. but a judge ruled the hospital was misapplying the law because the mother is dead and was only 14 weeks pregnant. she was disconnected from life support this morning. u.s. health officials have boarded a cruiseship to investigate a illness that has stricken at least 300

san diego had the highest price. the lowest in sacramento. it is time to get a check on thes. >> some possible moisture that will be in our atmosphere later this week. meteorologist leigh glaser has our check on weather and a look at live doppler 7hd. leigh? >> we had those high clouds move through this morning and almost looked like maybe it would squeeze out a little moisture. not so, though. just high cloudiness, all because of an area of low pressure to the south. but you can see high clouds drifting by. this is our area of low pressure this counterclockwise spin, some moving to the north. some of the higher clouds actually picking up a little moisture but nothing reaching the ground. it has been a mild terrific weekend. another day today with terrific and mild temperatures. san francisco right now, 57. 68, redwood city. los gatos, 59. here's the santa cruz cam.

a beautiful sunset. santa rosa, 66. 63, petaluma. here's a look at a beautiful setting sun shot from our east bay hills cam. forecast, overview, high clouds overnight tonight. cooling for us the next few days, and, yes, does look like we're going to bring in a chance of moisture in here as we head into wednesday night and thursday. now, lows tonight not as cold because of the high clouds. we'll look for mid-to-upper 30s in the north bay, 40s elsewhere and let's get to the pacific satellite. this is the low that will continue to bring the high clouds north jorg -- overnight, this next system with brush by, so it well be cool monday and tuesday, but this developing low right here that will bring the return of some rain to the bay area as we head into wednesday night and thursday. in fact here's the timeline, folks. wednesday, 3:00 in the

afternoon, the moisture starts to feed into the north bay, and by 4:00 thursday afternoon, that's when parts of the bay area will see a chance of showers. not a lot of rain anticipated. it moves in, brings us maybe a quarter inch at best, and then moves out by friday afternoon. but the is a chance of even more moisture coming in as we get into the first two to throw days of february. you can see our ten-day outlook, pretty -- looking pretty good, the moisture really starting to feed back in. so that is definitely a good sign, but our weather pattern is starting to change, starting to ms. en -- moisten up a bit so hopefully we'll great measurary rainfall. tomorrow going to drop temperatures. so 64, half moon bay, san francisco. 67, vallejo. 68, livermore. the seven-day forecast, notice the cooling trend on tuesday.
