good evening, and thanks for joining us. imagine paying fast food prices for the healthiest and freshest produce in groceries. it may sound like food fantasy but these days a savvy customer can do just that, by knowing how and where to shop. abc's rebecca jarvis met one a woman who's leading the hunt for high-end diet deals and saving thousands.

>> reporter: sarah mock is like a lot of americans. she hates paying a lot for groceries to feed her husband and three active kids. >> get her! >> pretty much the only things we buy are, unless we really need them or mommy has a coupon. >> reporter: but sarah loves to cook. even went to kueculinary school. so she isn't willing to cut corners when it comes to quality. >> dear god, thank you for this day and thank you for the food that mommy prepared for us. >> reporter: she is a frugal foodie. a growing movement of people who believe eating cheap is cool and delicious. she even writes about saving money on her blog, "how i pinch a penny." sarah saves thousands of dollars a year on food shopping, getting almost 50% off her grocery bill. and how she does it isn't a big secret. it just takes time and planning. we traveled to york, pennsylvania and went on the hunt with sarah and her son harry as they stocked up for a week's worth of groceries. >> all right. ready to go shopping? >> let's go get a cart. >> reporter: a list that

includes ingredients for tasty meals like pork loin and carne asada tacos. >> you're making me hungry with that list. i like the mexican stuff. >> reporter: and to complete the list without breaking the bank sarah has to go to three different grocery stores. it's 10:45 a.m. first stop, amelia's grocery outlet that sells food that would otherwise go to waste. >> what's amelia's known for? >> amelia's -- i love it because you have name brand products at a discount. >> reporter: food that's close to or past its sell by date. >> every once in a while find something that is close to date, maybe it's within a couple weeks or a couple months. and then you will find some things that are past it. >> reporter: these pretzels are two for a dollar. >> two for a dollar? >> check these out. best by 2-13-14. which is in less than a month. so do you think my family could eat two of these in a month? yeah. yeah. >> reporter: yeah, definitely?

seem so good now. >> $1.69. was ours -- >> i think it was more. >> $2.79. >> does that sting a little bit? >> it does a little bit. but for a dollar -- an extra dollar i got the name brand. >> reporter: the store is designed to keep prices as low as possible. part of their long-standing philosophy of operational efficiencies. >> everything we can do to keep our costs low, we are going to do that so we can pass those savings on to our customers. >> reporter: aldi's stores are smaller than regular grocery stores. instead of tens of thousands of products, they sell about 1,300 of the most commonly bought items. and they display their products in the boxes they were shipped in. >> we don't have to have somebody spending the time to individually take that product and place it on the shelf. >> reporter: but if you think off label equals off quality, think again. here in the ld test kitchen outside of chicago, a team of gourmets creates and tastes

top-of-the-line meals made with discount ingredients. >> i think the color's really nice and it's a great way to get a lot of vegetables. you've got the beans. it's a protein source. you can swap out the frozen corn or froze envegetables as well just depending on what you have in your pantry. >> reporter: back at our aldi in pennsylvania we stocked up on our own discount dairy. >> $3.77 for a gallon of skim all the way up to $4.21 for the whole milk. aldi's has the best price for milk. >> reporter: sarah has what she came for, plus a few extras. >> $3.79 for three pounds. that would easily be $6 at my grocery store. >> reporter: they don't take credit cards. too many fees. just cash and debit. >> $46.87. >> yay. $46.87. >> reporter: you have to bring your own bag and fill it yourself. >> we are saving them money by not hiring people to bag our groceries. so we only have a few more things to go. >> things that we got here. onions. garlic. tortellini, no. chicken tenders, no.

there may be few things as humiliating as being the victim of what is now called revenge porn. when intimate pictures or videos end up on websites without the permission of those now being seen by the world. yet there was little the law could do about it. until now. the man behind one of the leading and most controversial forums arrested. we talked to two women who have been trying to put him behind bars for years. here's abc's neal karlinsky. >> got my alcoholism taken care of for the rest of the week. >> reporter: when we first met hunter moore, he was brash, unpredictable, and relishing the title of professional life ruiner. >> i'm charging this to my business account. so i can write off my alcoholism at the end of the year. >> reporter: between all the booze and tattoos -- >> i just sleep and answer texts and phone calls while i sleep.

>> reporter: -- the so-called godfather of revenge porn was adamant that while his business was despicable it was completely legal. >> basically, i just watch the twitter to see what kind of naked people people want to see. >> reporter: for two years "nightline" has been following moore's controversial career and the people left in its wake. >> it was extremely difficult for my whole family. it wasn't even just my daughter that was victimized. it was really the entire family. because it impacts everybody in the victim's life. >> reporter: charlotte law's daughter was one of moore's alleged victims. >> it's embarrassing to know that they've seen that photo of me. and they know what i look like now topless. because of that site. >> reporter: her picture, like thousands of others, displayed on the website isanyoneup.com, top kls and againless and again transforming charlotte law from ordinary california mother to anti-revenge porn crusader. revenge porn is generally when a person sends in nude pictures of an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend to be posted without their

knowledge just to humiliate them. moore holds the questionable distinction of bringing revenge porn into the mainstream. >> what do you mean by revenge? what's there? >> it is nude photographs that people have taken of themselves. and they are anonymously submitted and we go ahead and put that content that is submitted to our site on blast for the world to see. >> public humiliation. >> yeah. it is. >> and you are fine with blasting it out and basically ruining in some cases other people. >> i mean, to me i don't know these people, so -- and it's kind of anonymous to me. i think the people submitting it are the ones who should be, you know, feeling bad when they do click that submit button. >> so you have no empathy? >> no. they're just -- they're characters and avatars and icons on a screen. >> reporter: charlotte law has always maintained that her daughter was hacked. but for years some refused to believe that her daughter's nude photo wasn't texted or shared to begin with. during our time with moore many

victims claimed they weren't being wronged by ex-boyfriends, they were being robbed of personal photos stored on their own computers. but moore was adamant. >> people make claims all the time, you're photoshopping or you're hacking. >> if i did know how to hack, my site would be a lot more successful than it is. but any claims of hacking, i mean, it's just people pointing fingers and not taking responsibility for what -- the pictures that they have taken of themselves. but i mean, i get 150 submissions a day. i don't need to hack. >> reporter: but charlotte law says she never bought it. for more than two long years she built a case of her own on the side and eventually met with the fbi. some even started calling her the erin brockovich of revenge porn. and then late last week she got a surprise almost as big as the moment her daughter's embarrassing photo was posted. the fbi arrested hunter moore and another man, 25-year-old charles evans, on a 15-count

federal indictment, accusing moore of what he always denied -- stealing nude photos by hacking. according to investigators, to obtain more photos to populate the site, moore allegedly instructed evans to gain unauthorized access to hack into victims' e-mail accounts. moore sent payments to evens in exchange for nude photos obtained unlawfully from the victims' accounts. >> i come on the internet to be entertained. >> reporter: the man who made his name humiliating people is now free on $100,000 bond, released into the custody of his parents. the 27-year-old is not allowed to use his tool of choice, a computer, pending trial. and while the fbi won't comment on the specifics of their case, one relentless california mom feels like she just got her own bit of revenge. >> i was ecstatic when the arrests happened a few days ago. and i've talked to many of the victims from our group. and everyone else is ecstatic as well. and i'm really hoping that they

will do some time in jail. >> reporter: today charlotte law is proud to be hunter moore's worst nightmare. mother and daughter are now part of the official case against moore, and charlotte says she personally found nearly a half dozen other victims now listed in the federal indictment against him. >> but i'm very happy that the plot to hack into people's e-mails was uncovered. >> reporter: she's now pushing for new laws, but legislating revenge porn out of existence is no small task. moore originally left his popular site not because he was threatened or sued but because he was bought out. >> you have to show and clear certain hurdles in order to prosecute them for their content. >> reporter: attorney mark geragos says prosecuting revenge porn website operators isn't easy because they are generally protected by the same laws that allow youtube to host other people's content. >> it's ironic that what he ultimately has been filed on here criminally is not what

people find the most offensive, i suppose, which is running the site itself, but instead the kind of al capone treatment, which is the hacking or the identity theft. >> reporter: hunter moore, who used to love to talk, isn't saying much these days. when we last met, he still seemed to think public humiliation was a great business model. >> you think at some point when you get older you might look back at the person you are now -- >> of course. >> -- and have some regret? >> yeah. i'm going to grow and change as a person. but right now at this time i'm going to take full advantage of people's mistakes and what i've created. >> reporter: moore is due back in federal court next month. he faces up to five years in prison if convicted. i'm neal karlinsky for "nightline" in seattle. >> interesting to note that he's being charged for allegedly hacking but not for running the forum in the first place. next, would you get married at the grammys? 33 couples did last night during macklemore's performance of "same love."
