to get back to the normal level. a foot of rain is needed in san francisco. so we still need more rain, andry -- and i'll show you what is next. >> just enough rain to soak the streets in san jose but people were happy to see the rain return. nick smith is live with a look at the bay area's soggy sunday. reporter: spencer talked about the rainfall, right now we have had a break in the rain. every now and then we'll see a few drops but it's not enough to really ease our drought woes. >> this was the scene most drivers faced this morning. rain. it's something we haven't seen in a while. there was enough to cause traffic congestion in some areas and for the california highway patrol to warnings to slow down. >> i heard a loud crashing sound. >> there was dusty wind and weather related damage.

would with developing details on the investigation. reporter: napa police tell us the couple was detained at a b.a.r.t. station in el cerrito. the two have since been brought here to the napa police headquarters and are now facing homicide charges. napa police were called to the royal garden apartments in napa yesterday afternoon for a welfare check on a three-year-old girl. they found her dead. officers immediately started looking for the girl's mother, sara krueger, and her boyfriend, ryan scott warner. witnesses toll police that the couple left the apartment yesterday morning on foot, carrying luggage. neighbors tell us the threshed is kayleigh slusher. police said liked like she had been abused. >> investigators knosted what appeared to be blunt form trauma injuries on the victim. followup indicated the victim appeared appeared to have been

sexually assaulted. >> police released pictures of sara kruger ryan warner last night, and this morning an anonymous tip led b.a.r.t. police to the couple in the b.a.r.t. station and took them into custody. neighbors say they believe the couple had been using drugs recently. that's something the police corroborated during a news conference this afternoon. those neighbors also tell us they're planning on holding a candlelight vigil for kayleigh at the apartment complex this evening. we're going to be there for that and bring details to you on abc7 news at 11:00. reporting live, abc7 news. >> tonight, oakland police are investigating the city's tenth and 11th homicide of the year. a 15-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man were found shot to death last night in front of a boys and girls club on 4th 4th street. the two victims knew each other and lived in the area of the shooting. a richmond man was shot and

killed at a bar in pinole this morning. it happened around midnight at the green lantern bar. police say someone called in a disturbances. they arrived to find a 30-year-old man shot to death. investigators interviewed witnesses but haven't made any arrests. a 14-year-old boy accused of killing his sister will appear in court tomorrow. 17-year-old justice toliver was shot inside an apartment building in oakland ten days ago. prosecutors say he brother will the charged as a juvenile. investigators say the shoot can happened in a fight over laundry >> philip seymour hoffman has died. he was found dead in his new york apartment this morning. friends in hollywood responded. jim careie tweeted, philip, a beautiful, beautiful, soul. for the most sensitive among us the noise can be too much. bless your heart.

showers ending as we speak. cold inland overnight, and we'll have a cool daytime pattern for the remainder of the week or the week ahead elm satellite animation shows the movement of the cold front that swept through this morning. storm center offshore is heading south and taking the moisture with is, which is why our showers are winding down. forecast animation shows the passage of a few clouds and maybe a spot or two of shower activity but nothing significant. mainly sunny skies tomorrow, and dry and cool day ahead. now, let's look at the ten-day animation to see where we might expect more rainfall. mid-week, we may gate spot or two of shower activity. doesn't look like it will amount to much. next sunday, maybe a better organized, more widespread area of rain. that may be confined to the north bay. after that a couple of dry days. so the pattern ahead doesn't have the promise of bringing much rainfall. mainly clear skies, cold in the
