still a lot of candles and they were lit earlier this evening during the vigil for kailey. they were set up at the steps of the apartment where she was found yesterday by police. dozens turned out with candles and shared in a prayer for 3-year-old kailey. among those in this crowd was kailey's grandfather. >> you can't imagine what i am going through. the most proudest moment of my life is gone forever. there is nothing we can do or say that will bring her back. >> his daughter, sara, is under arrest along with her boyfriend ryan warner. napa police said the little girl looked as if she had been abused. >> during the necial stages the -- the initial stages the investigators noted blunt force trauma injuries on the victim. follow-up also indicated the victim appeared to have been sexually assaulted. >> police were first called to

the royal garden apartments for a welfare check. they found the 3-year-old's lifeless body in her bed and quickly started looking for her mother and boyfriend for questioning. neighbors say the couple had been recently using drugs. >> when she hooked up with him she had seen her go downhill, obvious drug use and red flags. you hardly ever see the little girl play outside anymore. >> witnesses say the pair left the apartment complex on saturday morning on foot hauling luggage after police released pictures of them and somebody tipped off bart police they were at the el cerrito station. they were arrested and taken to napa headquarters and charged with child abuse and murder. abc7 news. >> a 14-year-old boy accused of killing his sister will appear in juvenile court in san leandro. justice tolliver was shot in an apartment building in oakland 10 days ago. prosecutors say her brother will be charged as a minor. the shooting was reportedly set off by a fight over laundry.

new at 11:00, a tree fell and smashed into two cars tonight in san francisco. it happened around 8:30 on laurel street near sacramento. one car suffered major damage. a resident said it was very windy in the area today. that combined with the rain may have been enough for the tree to lose its grip. the bay area did get much needed rain today. more rain fell today than a in the entire month of january. it was heaviest in the north bay, but it fell all-around the bay testing drivers who haven't seen a lot of rain on the roads this year. and in the south bay, rainwater clogged the gutters in this neighborhood and more rain is expected later in the week. in the east bay snow blaine a cetted -- snow blanketed mount diablo. on average the state park gets a little more than an inch of snow a year. and check out the lake observatory. you can see an inch of snow fell today. the roads are icy and visitors

should avoid the area until the weather improves. snow also fell in napa county. you can see it coming down on highway 29 just north of cal law stow -- calistoga. and in lake county, a viewer sent us these pictures from the snow on cob mountain where the elevation is about 4700 feet. spencer christian is in for leigh glaser. spencer, how much of an effect did the rain have on the drought if any? >> ama, minimal effect, but it was tbr to see the rain. let's look at live doppler 7hd. it is gone and it has ended. there were a couple of patches of moisture. this was the scene and video was sent to us by a viewer from kelseyville in lake county who was video recording some snow falling on his deck this morning. there was an elevation above 1500 feet. here is a look at the rainfall totals and they are relatively impressive. sfo received .85 of an inch. .60 at santa rosa, but we need

a lot more rain and in frequent deliveries. i'll show you what is on the way in my forecast. ama? ama? >> thank you. more people in the drought-stricken west are praying for rain. yesterday we showed uh prayer meeting at the county county fairgrounds organized by the bay area chapter of the council on american-islamic relations. today religious leaders and farmers held special events to ask for divine deliver thtion to deliver the west from drought. the drought is also expected to cause unemployment to sore. one third of the jobs are related to farming. they are expected to force the farmers to leave the fields unplanted. the truck drivers and those who sell fertilizer, irrigation equipment and the tractors. now to the super bowl. the seahawks fans are celebrating in the streets. they set bonfires near the university of washington campus and stopped moving cars

women will be a problem for guys like us. >> a major loss for the acting world. philip seymour hoffman was found dead in his apartment for an apparent drug over dose. lilian kim joins us with more. lilian? >> some of the films he was in were shot here in the bay area. philip seymour hoffman was known for depth and versatility. playing a man in "boogie nights" and it was shooting" money ball" that appeared to have had a special place in hoffman's heart. hoffman played art howe and wheel howe criticized him for how he portrayed him, he had fun shooting the film. >> i went to batting practice and it was something. i grew up playing baseball and it was a treat for me. >> hoffman was only 46 years old. a friend called 9-1-1 after

the academy award winner's life and career on "good morning america" here on abc7. woody alan is calling allegations of child molestation untrue and disgraceful. the publicist says alan has read the letter published on-line by the "new york times." she says she was sexually abused by her adoptive father in an attic when she was seven years old. the claim dates back to alan's relationship with mia farrow. the 78-year-old director always maintained his innocence. the reverend al sharpton talked about doing good work at a church. the civil rights leader spoke at the church and said it is hard to eulogize people who only do things for themselves. >> some go from the mall to the cemetery. and there is nothing we can talk about.

is the middle of the week. we may see a few spotty showers. we don't expect significant rainfall during the midweek showers. then next sunday we will get a little more organized rainfall moving into the north bay. doesn't look like it is going to be a bay area wide event, but that will be our best chance for more measurable rainfall. then after that it will be a little dry a little longer. as we look at overnight conditions, mainly clear skies and cold in the north bay valleys where the low temperatures will drop to 29 in santa row expo -- santa rosa. in our east bay inland valleys and the south bay inland valleys we will see lows in the low to mid30s right around the bay, upper 30s to low 40s and midto upper 30s on the coast. then mainly sunny skies and a few lingering clouds. cool, but seasonally cool with highs in the mid50s around 9 bay and inland and we will see low to mid50s along the coast. here is our accu-weather seven-day forecast.

team report. >> max wade dropped out of marin's redwood high school before the end of his freshman year. but he sure did his homework before pulling off his crimes. greg garrett worked the case. >> i never had a crime like this that was so sophisticated by such a young person. >> among the hundreds of pieces of evidence i inspected, max wade's computer history showed his preparation for grand theft auto. just 16 years old at the time he googled lamborghini and how to jam lojac and lock picking. wade even posted a video youtubm practicing. it was less than two weeks before the car heist. >> there we go. >> he researched british motor cars in san francisco and "mission impossible"-style repelling. that's exactly what he did at the dealer in 2011. these crime scene photos show how he tied off a rope on the
