san jose fire department facing tough questions from the county over taking too long to respond to life or death situations and a board is considering fining the department for breech of contract. abc7 news is live in san jose with the story. jonathan? >> we're talking about medical calls here it's the fire trucks showing up first to provide attention before an ambulance takes patients to the hospital but tonight we're standing in front of a fire station that shut down. firefighters stha is the problem. >> we can't let them off the hook. >> santa clara county supervisor says the fire department broke

use by the criminals some people looking to sell jewelry are have become targets of crooks who fly them to the bay area, treat them to limos then beat, and rob them. but some are now are arrest in an fbi investigation that is underway. >> call it modern jewel heist the jewelry theft ring based out of oakland. for a year, six men finding people selling expensive jewelry on craig's list and flying them to oakland to complete the sale they rented limousines and picking victims up at the airport. one victim from wisconsin. >> he hit me on the head. >> court documents show ring leaders stole many items to this shop. they're at least 18 victims from across the country. most had their jewels stolen, and many beaten. one by one, agents arrested ring members but the thefts continued until an

this is the "jeopardy!" battle of the decades. let's meet today's former champions from our first decade. he was a legal assistant living near d.c. when he won the 1991 tournament of champions. he is now an attorney in arlington, virginia. please welcome jim scott. in 1986, he was a law student living in grand blanc, michigan. he won the tournament of champions. today, he's based in rome, where he works for the international fund for agricultural development. please welcome chuck forrest. and she was an actor and copy editor in new york city when she became a five-game champ. she's still a copy editor, but she now lives in a historic house in madison, indiana. please welcome india cooper. and now here is the host of "jeopardy!" -- alex trebek!

[ cheers and applause ] thank you, johnny. thank you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to game number one of the first round in our battle of the decades. i have been cheating a little. i've been eavesdropping on our contestants backstage -- all 15 players you're gonna see competing up here this week. and i can tell you, they are a marvelous group of individuals. they're all very successful, of course. they're kind of laid-back. they're gregarious. they're funny. and they're all getting along extremely well. but that may change. keep in mind that they are playing for an ultimate prize of $1 million. all right, jim, chuck, and india, good to see you again, and good luck. here we go. india, you get to pick first from these categories... that sounds like fun.
