accident driver who ran over a man and last him fighting for his life outside of city hall. abc7 news cover is on the scene. cornell? >> southbound van necessary is -- van fess is -- van ness is closed after a hit-and-run accident left a man in his 50's fighting for his life. he was crossing van ness in the crosswalk toward city hall and he was struck by a vehicle headed south on van ness. the man was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to the hospital. the vehicle is described "dark colored sedan or s.u.v." the car last the seen and has not been found by police. the victim was pulling a recycling bin cross the street because of the bottles and cans and shattered glass in the

>> from hair, -- from hayward where a 62-year-old woman died after being shot by police she threatened the officers with a gun. amy hollyfield has the details. police have not released the officer's name with the police department for a year. police are telling us that the 62-year-old woman had a gun and she did not drop it when officers told her to drop it. they say she advanced toward them in a threatening way. they felt afraid and an officer shot and killed the woman. her neighbors say it was a terrifying experience. >> about five shots. it scared me to death. i felt like i could smell them. my concern was getting the kids safe, getting on the grounds and staying away from the windows.
