what you call, like a bunch of box cars, the moisture feeding into marin county and that's where most of the problems have been today. you can see the moderate rain through cloverdale, santa rosa, we'll take you in closer, guerneville, at least three inches of rain today and you can see most of this is starting to move in. the jenner area, moving into your neighborhood in the next 15 to 20 minutes. where we have had problems from rohnert park and petaluma. there's a flood warning in effect until 7:30 this evening. petaluma, rohnert park. send bass a pole, for -- send -- jew can clearly see the -- jew can clearly see the east bay, tracy, san jose, not much rainfall, and the reason why is because you can see on our water

vapor imagery this train of moisture has been poised right at the north bay, but that next plume will settle south bay locations tomorrow. so it ain't over with yet. we'll look at some impressive storm totals in a bit. >> the storm and the rain caused problems throughout the bay area. one of the hardest hit was the north bay. nick smith joins us live from the rohnert park expressway. reporter: this is a major thoroughfare to route 116. one reason we are here is because this road was completely covered over with water earlier. we watched the water recede but this is why there's a flash-flood warning in effect, because at any time all that could change. this was the message from national weather service, alerting everyone in the area of a flash flood warning for sonoma

county. conditions were a wet, rainy, challenging mess. the heaviest totals of rain are pry ticketed for north bay. >> heavy rains. measured 12 inches of rain so far. >> take a look at the damage the rain has left behind on this stretch of fort ross road. half of the street, gone. road crews arrived to see the two-lane highway reduced to one. >> down below there was one vehicle inundated by the rockslide. >> take a look. you can make out the roof of a white pickup truck that is buried in the thick heavy mud and rock, and things could get worse if the arounds continue officials fear the risk of emergency services from points beyond the area. the north bay could see as much as seven inches of rain. he is getting sand to shore up

his home. >> a little bit of work to do but all in all it's going to benefit our stuff in the house because it's not going to get entity ruined. >> in santa rosa, parts of the bypass have disappeared. the creek appears to be close to cresting. parts thief section had been closed because of standing water two feet high. the reason? too much rain too fast. >> the storm damage extended well south to the peninsula where this pine tree fell along ridgeway road in hillsboro. this viewer sent us this photo showing a blocked driveway. sergio quintana is live in sonoma county. >> this intersection is prone to flooding. we have been here for years. this particular incident started

3:00 this afternoon. right now, caltrans crews are already here, but this is the problem. there's a creek that runs right along this intersection and right there you can see the water rushing in. that's where there's a breach and that's where the flooding into the intersection is coming from. this flooding means about a mile of highway 121 is blocked off between arnold drive and east h street but swollen creeks are not the only problem. mill valley, massive tree at the mill valley golf course, split in three, and one piece came down over glen drive. snarled up the only street into and out of this neighborhood so pg&e crews moved fast to deenergize the lines so the fire crews could put it apart. power was out in the neighborhood for several hours. residents say even with the neighborhood problems, they're still happy for the rain. >> for the last week saying, never again will we see rain.

it's here. >> we definitely need the rain. the nice thing about today is for mill valley and areas around the bay itself, we had a fairly low high tide earlier today, and so that has kept the creeks pretty much in check. reporter: creeks looked full but didn't seem as if they were going to be jumping their banks and that's a completely different situation here in sonoma. i'm told they're expecting advice particular road is going to be blocked off until at least 11:00 p.m. tonight. reporting live near schellville, abc7 news. >> a combination of low clouds and winds have made flying to and from sfo problematic all day. the faa says some arriving flights are facing delays up to three hours and departure delays are averaging 45 minutes. dozens of flights have been

in out in view, and behind me the car that was the subject of the chase, the toyota with the front grille smashed. i. this whole thing started at about 3:30 this afternoon. police say the suspect in this car first backed into an sfpd car in san francisco. the police carlos its front grille and the air bags did deploy but the officers were not hurt. police had been following that toyota in the bay view because it matched the description of a vehicle involved in a shooting yesterday at golden gate avenue and fill more in san francisco. now, after that impact, the toyota with the three suspects inside, then took off. the chase went southbound on highway 101, with san francisco police in pursuit. they lost the car at oyster point. the chp picked up the chase through san mateo county. the chp called it off because of weather and pooling in the road. the suspect car also collided

pinpoint some locations that are going to see the moderate rain if nor not already seeing it right now. you can see for yourself most of the moisture has been focused in the north bay, north of the golden gate bridge and that's exactly where most of the rain is coming down. cloverdale, heading over towards lakeport and clear lake, reporting moderate rain. we have had some flood issues from rohnert park down towards petaluma and that's where the flood warning is in effect. just for another hour. until about 7:30. and then it will be lifted. some of the low-lying floodingy there you can see from live doppler 7hd, light rain is falling there at this point. east bay finally starting to see a little moisture. orinda, walnut creek, moraga, clayton, and south of san jose, picking up a little activity, but much of it has been north of

the golden gate bridge. in fact impressive rainfall tote reallies there. close to four inches in sent rosa, over four inches, close to five inches, at mt. st. helena, lesser amounts towards redwood city and san jose and the east bay in livermore. as you see there as well. emeryville cam. a lot of fog. reduced visible. golden gate bridge, across much of the bay area, and our storm risk, high in the north bay, street flooding immediate -- moderate, and then run, wind damage on the slide area, and as well as river flooding on the low area. up to four additional inches expected in some of the wettest spots in the north bay. our m tam cam, whiteout because of the fog and the low clouds there. san francisco, all the bay area, mid-to-upper 50s. we have been tellingout about delays at sfo, and you can see

why. low visibility there. santa rosa, 56. 57, concord. here's a look at the forecast highlights. we'll continue with rain off and on tonight. breezy conditions. heavy rain possible for sunday. and then we dry out for a couple of days. more wet days are expected heading into next wednesday and thursday. the warm sector of this frontal system moves through overnight. now you see that next plume right there and that's going to move in tomorrow with periods of heavy rain and it looks like it will slide further south. the heaviest rain in the north bay, 10:00 tonight, once again the forth bay getting hit. check out by sunday afternoon. that is when the moderate rain starts to slide down towards san jose. so by 3:00 p.m. we're looking at rain moving in towards monterey county, as well as south of san jose and by 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 5:00 a.m., it will be out of

here. let's get you some precipitation. additional amounts. six to four inches north bay. mountains. lower elevations, one to two inches. and in the mountain wes have had blue canyon, a lot of rain there. we have high snow levels that will be coming down to about 6500 by tomorrow afternoon. so, storm warning up until 4:00 a.m. monday. one to two feet additional above 7,000 feet. lows tonight in the 50s, with the wind and the rain and the highs tomorrow near 60 degrees, and it looks like tomorrow more periods of heavy rain, a few showers monday morning, cloudiness on tuesday, and then more showers expected wednesday and thursday. there you go. take it easy out there, and don't forget, headlights on in the rain, reporting live from the roof, i'm meteorologist leigh glaser. back to you. >> thank you so much, leigh.
