we have live team storm watch coverage, and an update on the rain from meteorologist leigh glaser. >> once again today the big focus has been more to the golden gate bridge. that's starting to change. check out live doppler 7hd. this is in the last couple hours. you'll notice the second wave, the last wave of moisture starting to move towards the east, and even to the south bay locations, which is good news because i know those down towards san jose have not seen mat much in the way of rainfall the past several days. muir beach getting slammed with moderate rain, as is the golden gate bridge. inland, love fayette. walnut creek. you are seeing some moderate rain toward the clayton area, and san jose, finally some rain after the past two to three days of being relatively dry.

one advisory, flash-flood watch for all of the north bay. there are threats of rising streams and low-lying flooding. we'll keep you updated. impressive rainfall totals. >> we have developing news now in our storm watch coverage. an investigation is underway to determine if the bad weather is linked to a driver's death in the north bay. sergio quintana is in mill valley where he spoke with investigators. reporter: at about 10:00 this morning, mill valley police were called to greenwood way, which is in neighborhood that is very steep into the hills and has very narrow streets. an suv had gone down a gully. a this point police are not -- they're trying to figure out if the weather did contribute to the crash. after some searching, a few hours later, they happened to find other dead body in the

backyard of a home nearby. >> do you know if -- from the plates on the vehicle, does the person live in the neighborhood? >> the plates on the vehicle come back to a resident in the area, but we can't confirm their location at this time. >> in the last couple hours they blocked our driveway and to towed a truck down and the search and rescue team was on the hill before my neighbor's house. >> that marin county search and rescue teams were called to help a couple hours after the vehicle was first spotted. they searched the steep hills in the neighborhood, and they did find a dead body in the backyard of one of the homes. police describe that as an older or elderly person but right now they're not able to determine if that person was the driver of the overturned suv and they're not sure if there was anyone necessary the vehicle. at this moment the marin county coroner's office is at the home,

collecting the body, and they're going to be trying to determine a cause of death, and they're also apparently still trying to see if there was anyone necessary the vehicle when it went into the gully. reporting live in mill valley. abc7 news. >> also in mill valley today, huge mudslide stopped just short of going into a home on north ferndale avenue. looks like the earth just gave way. crews set up netting to prevent nor dirt from coming down. miller avenue was underwater, several businesses were flooded. this area gets flooded often during prolonged storms. one spot in the north bay is getting a good soaking and that is mt. tamalpais in marin county. you can see the rain here live. more than a foot of rain has drenched this area since the storm moved in on friday. flooding has become a real problem across the north bay. our team coverage continues now with nick smith in schellville.

>> you know, the north bay is under a flash-flood watch until at least 9:00 p.m. tonight. heavy periods of heavy rain are expected throughout the evening. the ground is saturated. meaning that any rainfall will have no place to go and it will look much like what you see here. >> this is what drivers headed into sonoma ya county faced since this morning. a steady, heavy rain, painting everything with the same wet gray brush. the only splash of color from the taillights of other cars. >> we need more rain. more rain brings more floods bring more fun. >> wait a minute. did he say fun? joel tice, undeterred by the signs on the road, reading road closed, plowed through with his ford taurus anyway. pointing out he has done this before with disaster yours results. >> i had to go to the car wash to vacuum all the water out of my car. >> yet here you are again. >> yep. >> joel was lucky. the driver of that stalled honda

who attempted the same part, not so much. a half 0a foot of rain fell overnight. this oak tree is being reduced to firewood. >> i was thinking last night, i better tell her not to park there because that's the spot. >> only yesterday, it stood tall as more than 80 feet. according to the home owner, just after 11:00 p.m. it came crashing down, barely crashing -- barely missing the house. the street was unpassable. crews from caltrans could only keep a watchful eye while nature ran its course. this intersection of routes 12 and 121 will remain closed until at least 8:00 p.m. tonight in the distance you can see that sonoma county sheriff are manning the intersection to make sure no one drives through. the water here shows no sign of receding. in sonoma county, nick smith, abc7 news. >> more problems for the new

span of the bay bridge. the latest, it leaks. here's a live picture from our emeryville camera. rape is dripping into the steel structure below the road deck on the suspension stretch of the span. that is supposed to be weather tithe. experts say the water poses a risk of corrosion which could make the structure weak. crews are assessing the problem. >> this would be an issue if we weren't expecting it. if the inside of that deck was not primed to protect it, if we didn't have weep holes, if the water went undiscovered. >> bridge engineers say everything needs maintenance because no bolting system will ever prevent water from coming in. the bridge cost 6.4 bill and is supposed to last into the 22nd 22nd century. >> in san francisco the rain is force something business owners on folsom street to use sand

bags. the rains didn't stop anyone from shopping. union square was full of people willing to brave the rain. as the worse of the storm headed east today. parts of the east bay get a drenching. look at this parking lot. too much water with nowhere to go. drivers slowly made their way through more than a foot of standing water. this is in front of the target on contra costa boulevard. >> tahoe's ski resorts are celebrating the more than three feet of new snow they received since the storm saturdayed. this is -- seven feet of snow have fall 'since friday. let's take a live look at conditions from the caltrans camera at state route 89 and 28. snow chain restrictions. snow levels expected to drop tonight. >> the storm has slightly improved the outlook for the sierra nevada snow pack, which provides a third of california's

a suspected carjackeres in serious condition after being shot by san jose police. officers responded to a report of a man brandishing a shotgun. a man told police the suspect, who wasn't wearing pants, demands his car keys and took his car. the suspect led police on a short chase and tried to ram a squad car. authorities say the man waved the gun at officers who then shot him. >> eight homes were evacuated this morning when a car slammed into a house. firefighters and pg&e coordinated with each other to secure the leak. no word on what happened to the driver. >> google will end its trial run

just two days ago the water was an del -- ankle deep. and summer out enjoying the wet weather, including this dog that wouldn't let the showers keep him away from a day of fishing. it is time to get a full check on the forecast with abc7 news meteorologist leigh glaser up on the roof. >> hi there again. let's get right to live doppler 7hd. things are starting to shift, and all the attention has been on the north bay. now we're starting to see live doppler 7hd starting to shift from the moisture to the east and south, and there it goes. that last wave of moisture continuing to move east and south. san ramon, tracy seeing rain, san jose, and i'm getting tweets from all of you in san jose, saying, where is the rain? you'll see it overnight tonight. east bay, brentwood, moderate rain.

and red is colder air sneaking in behind this last wave. possibly see an isolated thunderstorm. so have that on the forecast as well. but discovery bay, byron getting moderate rain, san jose, evergreen, campbell, picking up some light to moderate showers. as well as santa cruz, so definitely taking a while but it looks like east and south bay low locations will pick up a little rainfall. this is the three-day total. today is not over yet. we have a couple more hours about this gives you a sense of just how well we did the past three days. from friday, saturday, intos today, over 14 inches mt. tamalpais, seven inches, mt. st. helena, livermore, quarter inch, and san jose, a tenth of an inch there but you'll see more as we head in through the overnight hours, and you have probably picked up a

bit more in your backyard. we'll have complete totals tomorrow. >> temperatures, san jose, 61. 59, los gatos. from the rooftop cam, that's my view. 58 in concord. here's a look at what you can expect in terms of the forecast for tonight and into the work week. flood watch for the north bay until 9:00. rain spreads east and south overnight. then we dry out and we warm up as we get into monday, tuesday, and wednesday. here's a look at our storm watch for tonight. medium in the north bay, slides, wind damage, river flooding low, up to two inches additional rainfall expected in some of the wettest areas, and our water vapor loop, bull's eye on the north bay and that is changing. that's a look at the last wave due in overnight. here's a look at our timing, and it's pretty spot on. we're already at this hour seeing those rains in the east and south bay.

9:00, much of the rain, the last a wave moves through, and by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, most of the moisture has moved out of the bay area. might deal with some mist and drizzle, maybe pockets of fog tomorrow morning. that's about it. sunshine tomorrow afternoon. rainfall potential, maybe one or two inches in the stream wettest locations. otherwise a quarter to half inch. in the sierra, it's been coming down in rain. five inches of rainfall in blue canyon but that it will shift over to snore tonight. winter storm warning through 4:00 a.m. at lake level they're expecting six inches of snow. here's the highs for monday. may have a little mist and drizzle in the morning, and then sunshine, temperatures mid-to-upper 50s to low 60s, and partly cloudy for tuesday. the seven-day forecast, slight chance wednesday in the north bay as well as thursday, and then we may see another wet
