>> you're exactly right. the whole moisture field shifted from the north bay, where it's been pounding them, now it's starting to move to the east and south bay locations, as we forecasted, this time yesterday. you can see from the trajectory here the rain is easing up in the north bay, starting to increase down toward san jose, the summit there, and you can see some of the dark greens. that area right there moving through the sunnyvale area. cupertino, milpitas picking up moisture. just in the last couple of hours, it there is, san jose, with some moderate rain. they were not quite sure if it was ever going to get there but it did. i have a flood advisory to pass along to you, flash food watch for the north bay until 9:00. there's a lot of runoff so the feeling is that some of those streams and also low-lying areas

will continue to fill up a little bit. possibly even spilling over a little bit. very impressive rainfall totals for the past three days. we'll take a look at those in a bit. the flooding may be to blame for the death of a person in the north bay. sergio quintana is live from the mill valley police department. reporter: the police are trying to determine that they were called to greenwood way this morning, around 10:00. that is in a neighborhood that has some pretty steep and narrow streets. after someone spotted an overturned suv that had gone down a gulley. this is a neighborhood that cuts into the side of mill valley. so, marin county search and russia teams were called in to -- search and rescue teams were called in to help and the search was expand. after a couple of hours a body was found in a backyard of a nearby home. police have not determined if that person was the driver of

the crashed suv, and they haven't figure out what caused the crash. >> could be weather-related. we don't know that. it could be a medical reason. it could have been some other type of reason, or could have been a mechanical failure. we don't know. >> the police say the coroner's office is collecting in the body and the medical investigator will determine a cause of death. the place on -- plates on the suv trace back to someone who lives in the neighborhood, and as i was talking to the lieutenant i asked her if the person who was found in that backyard happens to live at that home, and she declined to answer that question. reporting live in mill valley, abc7 news. >> thank you. if you looked out a window you probably saw this. raindrops and clouds. rain has also causedded inning in some areas of sonoma county,

and that's where we find nick smith. >> we have been here all day. we were here yesterday, and the rain has not stopped. that rain has continued to fall. the ground is sat -- saturated. the intersection of routes 12 and 121 are moved what looks like a little river stream. that's spilloff from the sonoma creek. this intersection will remain closed because there's no place for this water to go. the rain has been unrelenting. ed inning the intersections of low-lying areas. >> all flood plain so when we do get heavy rains, everything just pools right in here and has nowhere to go. >> some were deterred by signs reading "road closed." some took a chance anyway. >> the roads are bad, so if you're driving through water, you can't see the potholes and you'll probably stall out. >> this driver was lucky. the driver of the stalled honda,

not so much. across the county, more than half a foot of rain fell overnight. this oak tree is being reduced to firewood. >> i was thinking last night, i better tell her not to park right there because that's the spot. >> only yesterday it stood tall at more than 80 feet. according to the home owner, just after 11:00 p.m. it came crashing down, barely missing the house and taking out the fence and their toyota. at routes 121 and 12, rising water spilling from the sonoma creek made the road unpassable. and crews can only keep a watchful eye. >> the road is officially closed but that hasn't stopped some of the locals from using this as an opportunity to have a little fun. >> i just want to see how far i can get. definitely not going all the way through. >> travis and this buddies couldn't hem themselves. maybe it comes from bag local official with the area. the flood waters were calling

them, and they answered. abc7 news. >> today's storm triggeredded this mudslide in mill valley. tons of rocks and muddied not enter the home along north ferndale avenue. in other part0s the city, flooding is a problem. john alston has more on the storm's impact. reporter: the rain has picked up over the past few minutes and the flood waters have started to rise gradually over here. you can see water now covering this manhole cover in the street. you may see water gurgling up. you see water up to the sandbags in front of the 2:00 a.m. club here. trouble started brewing at 11:00 last night with a high tide. the 2:00 a.m. club is already in low-lying area on miller avenue. he water did recede overnight, and then another high tide came

rolling in at around 7:30 this morning, and that is when the water backup was fully on, like a bad horror movie where they say, get out. the water is coming from inside the building. >> getting a reverse high drawlic effect. creek was pushing water through the storm drains, into the building, and then also all of our floor drains, toilets, and other drains were taking water on. so we were actually filling up from the inside-out, versus taking water on from the outside-in. reporter: the last night the 2:00 a.m. club notice get to live up to the name. around 1:00, patrons were told to leave. it was closed done. there was three inches of water behind the bar and in the back of the building and cleanup has been going on for much of the day. back live. the bar, the 2:00 a.m. club, is back open. people are inside bending elbows, shooting pool, running around. we'll see how long they can stay open tonight, depending on how

the rain goes. >> or looking at a live picture of the bay bridge. traffic is moving steadily tonight as drivers head over the eastern span. it has another problem, it leaks. rainwater is getting into the steel structure under the road deck on the suspension stretch of the span which is supposed to be water tithe. caltrans crews were looking for the week. corrosion can weaken the integrity of a structure, a spokesman says leaks were anticipated. >> i was inside the bridge last week and it's literally just water that is collecting on the bolt, almost like condensation on your car window. enough builds up to form a bead and it drops. there aren't rivers gushing through the inside of the bridge. >> bridge officials emphasize the bridge is safe. the rainy weather has caused dozens of flight cancellations at sfo. the airport said 46 arrivals and departures were grounded.

other suspected carjacker is in serious condition after being shot by police. officers responded to a report of a man brandishing a shotgun. a man told the police the suspect, who was not wear pants, demanded his car keys and took his car. the suspect led police on a short chase and tried to ram a squad car. the man waved the shotgun at

shift as the wave is starting to move into the east and south bay. half moon bay, picking up rain. so is san jose. i'll pull out a little bit. you can get a sense of the moisture will be pushing in towards the south and east, and speaking of the east, boy, they got nailed. danville, livermore, an hour and a half ago, very heavy rain. danville, san ramon, getting ready for dark green shadows you see there, denoting moderate rain, oakland, berkeley, picking up rain. san jose starting to see some rain picking up as well as the dark green starting to move in. sunnyvale, cupertino, and it's just continuing to move on towards the south. now, i want to show you. these are preliminary rainfall totals so far for the three days we have been in all of this. mt. tamalpais, close to 16 inches. three inches for san francisco.

oakland, two and a half inches, mt. st. helena, 12 inches there, lesser amounts towards thepiece south in your backyard you probably have seen a little bit more than maybe what that graphic indicated, but all of the reservoirs and all of the water monitoring stations around the bay area will be getting those totals in and we'll have a complete list for you tomorrow. boy, the fog is going to be a problem tonight and tomorrow as well. the exploratorium cam, temperatures right now across the bay area in the upper 50s to low 60s. this is my view from the top of the kgo roof. 57, concord, and here is a look at the emeryville cam and here's a look at the forecast. flood watch for the north bay until 11:00. rain spreads east and south overnight. then get ready for dry and warmer conditions the next couple of days.

mt. tam, can't see much there. north bay, we still keep you in the medium range for storm risk. south, and i did include thunderstorms. there's a slight chance we could hear a little thunder, and the weather spots will get close to two inches of rainfall. this is the last wave that will make its way across the bay area. let's look at the timing. this is spot on. 6:00, this is exactly where the rain is falling as we head through the night it will move from north bay to south bay, and by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, commute time, deal with fog, maybe lingering mist and drizzle. tomorrow afternoon, brighten up the sky and bring on the sunshine. we'll go with maybe another additional inch. santa cruz mountains, lower elevations, maybe quarter inch. and it has been raining like nobody's business. blue canyon, five.
