>> kristen, former san francisco mayor willie brown is about to be honored, look behind me at the guests gathering here for the ceremony. hundreds of people about to take their eats all here for the dedication. look at this video: brown is cigaretting guests ated reception before the ceremony and said it feels like a reunion. he said he is very excited today calling this the biggest on in hits career. he says it is better because today would have been his mother's 105th birthday and black history month and his daughter is here at the ceremony. it is just all coming together. >> incredible honor. really an honor for an african-american and for the african american community. there is nothing in this nation except the king holiday that has the universal at of this bridge in terms of its carrying the name of an african-american.

nothing close. >> i live in mill valley and i am on the bridge a lot. i love to drive across it. i am so proud of him for doing this, and i am -- i love the fact they named the bridge after him. >> the naacp considered trying to get the new span named after him but did the research and discovered it is the old span that has more respect so that span will bear his name. check out this picture: this is the view the guests will have at the ceremony, really nice to have it here on treasure island. look at this picture on the front page of the examiner: this is the sign, willie brown is holding the sign you will see on the bridge with his name. i asked, what is he going to say in his speech? he said he has no idea. he will wing it. he does not have a prepared speech. if you want to hear who he does say, my colleague is here to cover this ceremony.

corporation starting with meat processed on one system day. it expanded saturday to include more than eight million pounds of peeve processed in 2013. the company now is trying to come up with a list of companies affected by the recall. federal authorities are cracking down on people who point lasers at airplanes. it is a dangerous problem that is happening more and more frequently. sadly there are plenty of examples in the bay area. katie marzullo joins us with this story. katie? >> officials say across the country pilots hadding their aircraft encounter pointers more than ten times every day. the f.b.i. is offering a cash reward for anything who towns in an offenders and launching a campaign to educate the people who are like through do it. this example hits close to home: a man shining a laser at sky 7 which captured that man being arrested. the crime is a felony punishable by up to five years in federal prison. today, the f.b.i. ups that.

>> this is very serious. the f.b.i. is treating it as such. >> the f.b.i. offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of someone who point as laser at a plane and the bureau is launching an educational campaign aimed at young males, most common offender. >> san francisco and lasers under us. >> san jose international airport saw 63 laser incidents last year, up from 33 in 2012. in oakland, strikes rose from 22 to 43. at sfo they went from 33 to 38. across the country, there were 3,400 strikes in 2012. last year, there were 3,900, an all-time high. the inexpensive pen-sized laser pointer can possibly blind the pilot. >> two flashes, caught the first increase his eye. there have been 35 incidents where pilots required a medical

breaking news, a gas leak at a high school in alameda that has led to an evacuation of students inside the science classroom with the gas leak fixed, however, it affected 12 students who are inside the science classroom with the gas leak contained and three students were taken to a local hospital for observation and five students have been sent home. we will continue to monitor this. >> this is the day to dry off before more rain the. >> we need a little bit of a break but we hoping for more rain. >> we are getting a break and we have rain in the forecast, not a lot, not the atmospheric river-induced flooding and soaking rain most of us received over the weekend but there are a couple chances. we will have to worry overnight about a repeat of the this morning with the air and the

ground so saturated that the air is going to release that moisture when we get sunshine like this with high pressure coming in putting a cap on and it we get the fog. expect it to be an tomorrow. notice this, what a difference i can barely see my hand in front of my place this morning and now i need the sunglasses. live doppler 7 hd shows how much drier the air is today and we will tack about visibility with everyone five miles or better right now and unlimited around hayward and oakland and novato. it was san jose that had the thicker fog this morning. you can see the clouds are starting to break if your neighborhood and temperatures running down there in the low 50's, like 52 in san jose and 51 if los gatos. we will have low-to-mid 50's everywhere but for napa where the fog was late to arrive and slow to get rid of 48 and 60 in antioch but we didn't have to worry about the fog this only it got out of here quickly. from mount tamalpais you can see the low clouds but the high clouds are going to streak over our sky as we head through the

afternoon thanks to the storm moving to the north. light rain is possible in the north bay tomorrow and thursday, and a better chance for all of us, with the timing looking like sat night into sunday morning which is good news. hopefully we can get saturday afternoon and sunday afternoon outside. we can spend it outside. the clouds are more stubborn along the coast where we will have the mid-to-upper 50's in san francisco and low-to-mid 60's for the rest of us, and the coat i have on could be heavy later on this afternoon. you can see the 40's dominating but look at the fog that reforms during the overnight hours and i would not be viced if we are not put under a dense fog advisory overnight with two areas of high pressure dominating the forecast, with high clouds coming in with the storm system and that is another atmospheric river moving to the north. because it is to the north, watch over the next 48 hours or so and well start tomorrow morning with the cloud cover, with green in the north bay in the afternoon, and overnight
