knife point from the parking lot of a safeway. >> occupants of the car described as african american occupants. and elderly gentleman, and possibly a 13-year-old girl. >> according to police a suspect was inside of the safeway on redwood road just before 1:00. he drew attention of store employees who thought he's trying to shop lift. >> police department called to lift this location. we have a report of some type of disturbance. possibly involving a shift. >> this is a still from surveillance video taken inside of the safeway store. showing the suspect holding an item in his hand he went outside, then got into the red or burgundy infinity suv. the suspect described as a black male, 35 years old, salt, pepper hair, about 56 or 57, 165 pounds with

a green shirt, blue jeans and armed with a knife. >> we usually don't have things happening here. we this is getting to be concerning. >> now, you can probably hear helicopter as above the parking lot. here one of them is oakland police helicopter. we have heard them making aannouncements on the helicopter. notifying residents of the area to keep an eye out for this red infinity suv. as for reports the suspect in this case was trying to steal lobsters inside of the safeway store, oakland police told me just minutes ago they do not want to get into that, they said, because their primary focus is to find the victims and locate them safely. in oakland abc7 news. >> laura, thank you very much developing news in san leandro. traffic on 580 brought to a stop

by a crash that injured a patrol officer. it happened on fairmont drive around 2:00 this afternoon. the chp was helping drivers of two cars when another vehicle slammed into one of the cars. it spun out of control, hitting the officer. two other people were injured. crews shut down all eastbound 580 during the response. we have a massive back up that followed. two lanes are closeed and could be closed for another hour. >> a 12-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by a car. the accident happened just before 3:30 on you stuart street here shattock avenue. you can see from sky 7 hd the driver did pull over the boy being treated for nonlife threatening injury sxtz cause of the accident is not known. police say it does not appear drugs or alcohol were involved.

>> there are reports a gunman fired on a driver in oakland. sky 7 hd took these pictures. police are trying to figure out what went down this, happened around 3:00 in oakland. there is a unconfirmed report one package was stolen. >> alleged vips of a suspected child molester are now suing him. joseph martin charged with 13 former students at woodside elementary school. today nine alleged victims filed two lawsuits, one against martin, the other against the school district and a dozen current and former employees. the second lawsuit claims district officials and administrators failed to report warnings of abuse by martin to authorities as required by law. this is due to go to trial next month. a richmond man who kept a female relative as a sex slave

was sentenced today to 22 years in prison the victim delivered a powerful ask he megsal message to him never theless. abc7 news is live in richmond tonight with the story. vic? >> dan, raul ochoa sentence and stood behind a glass window, expressionless, listening through a translator. the judge read the sentence. he pled guilty to a count of forcibly lewd act on a minor two counts of forceable rape. the judge sentenced raul ochoa to 22 years in prison. sparing the victim of having to face ochoa in court and relive horrors as 15 years as a sex slave. prosecutors say it was a fair deal. >> i'm not sure a number going to satisfy harm he did to this person. >> richmond police captain understands why the plea

agreement was made. but he also questions if the punishment fits the crime. >> when you look at only 22 years it's on one hand disappointing and if you really think about what she went through it's apalling he has a chaps to get out. >> the victim a close relative of ochoa had been sexual assaulted for 15 years, when she was only 126789 he built a plywood shed where he lived with his wife, children and victim. she said the shed is where rapes took place. today the yard is empty. the shack torn down after the victim was rescued. police say ochoa had a powerful control over the entire family. >> they had suspicions and did not act on them because of the fact they were also victims. >> august, 2012, the victim, now 27 escape with theed help of family members she wrote a statement which the victims advocate read in court
