closing and escalateed outside the bar. a man died en route to the hospital. a suspect is in custody. >> the officers found the victim on the ground. witnesses pointed out a possible suspect. the officers took out the victim and took a possible suspect into custody. at this time we are trying to sort it out. >> police are not releasing names and we do nut know what the fight was about can led to the fatal stabbing. >> more breaking news. police in san francisco are investigating a deadly crash that killed a pedestrian early this morning. investigators say a man driving a silver car south on van ness hit a man near pacific avenue. they have not determined if the victim was in a crosswalk and they do not know if the driver was speeding.

covering cupertino, wine country, concord and all the bay area this is abc7 news. >> more on developing news, oakland police released new video hoping to find a car they believe was involved in carjacking and kidnapping outside a safe way parking lot. amy hollyfield is at the store and amy has new twists. >> we got good surveillance video from inside the store. take a look, police are looking for the man or hoping you will spot him today as you go about your business, so get a good look, he is described as older african-american with salt and people more hair and 5' 6". he has a knife and stole a car from the parking lot that had two people inside of it, an elderly plan and a 13-year-old girl. no one has reported missing. the two people have not been reported missing to police. here is the license plate you looking for, a red or burgundy

in san jose, police say a man died after being stabbed when a fight inside johnny b.'s bar spilled out on to east santa clara street. officers are questioning the suspect now. >> breaking news, police in san francisco have arrested the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian this morning. he has been booked for vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run for allegedly trying to eleven the scene. southbound van ness is closed right now between pacific and broadway. >> oak hand police have released this surveillance video of a man they think could be behind the carjacking. that is the subject of a statewide amber alert. a 13-year-old girl and an elderly man were in the car. though searching for a red sedan with license plate 6jfm648. >> four, french president hollande visits san francisco today following the white house state dinner with president obama and mrs. obama. hollande will attend a city hall

abc7 news begins with breaking news. >> the breaking news is if downtown san jose where police are trying to find more about a deadly stabbing. witnesses say a man was stabbed after a fight broke out inside a bar and spilled out on to east santa clara street at 1:15. the victim died after being rushed to a hospital. >> police say they have taken one man into custody after being identified as a possible suspect. investigators are questioning that man and continue to search the area around johnny b.'s looking if -- for clues. >> in san francisco police are investigating an overnight crash that left a pedestrian dead on the edge of pacific heights.

katie marzullo is in the newsroom with details. katie? >> i hung up with the inspector in charge of the investigation and tells me the driver has been arrested. the inspector says after the crash at 1:00 o'clock a.m. at van ness an undercover officer came upon the scene by chance and the officer tried to help the victim who died instantly when witnesses pointed owe the driver who gathered up his belongings from the car and was walking away. the undercough officer -- under cover officer arrested the driver on vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run accident. they have not ruled out whether speed was a factor. the driver was headed south on van ness and up the hill when he hit and killed a man. police do not know if the victim was if the crosswalk. later today they will look at surveillance video from businesses which should help them put everything together. >> van ness between pacific and

yesterday and upper 50's to low 60. now the details. leyla gulen? >> good morning, everyone, it is 5:32. as we look at what is happening on the road, it is quiet to wednesday morning. we have this stalled vehicle southbound along 280 through daly city with a bit of slowing in the northbound direction coming around the cub. in san francisco, though, it is quiet. southbound 880 a crash on the shoulder is not blocking any lanes and northbound traction is moving along fine and a look at san jose in a bit. it is 5:32. developing in us from oakland an amber alert is in effect with police asking for your help in solving a carjacking that could involve the abduction of two people. our reporter is at the safeway in oakland where this began.

it is 5:44. we have video from new york city, sadly, one person is dead after a bus and a truck collided this morning. four people were hurt. two suffered serious injuries. both vehicles plowed into scaffolding that surrounds the building at 7th avenue and 15th. two people are also injured. the building inspectors must determine how to remove the vehicles so the scaffolding doesn't collapse. no word on how many people were on board the bus. >> new this morning a man is in custody after smashing the ones of an lapd patrol car on a hollywood boulevard and snatching a laptop. what is more unusual is he did
