where a suspect flipped a stowen car trying to get away from police. you will never believe who owned cart. someone who used to carry a badge. >> a 25-year-old stolen car suspect is taken into custody after flipping this honda on the willow pass off-ramp of 680 after a wild high speed police chase through two counties. the pursuit reached speeds up to 100 miles per hour while on the freeway and the individual tried to go wrong way a couple of times on the freeway. we were able to intercept the individual and get him off the freeway in the pleasant hill area. >> it began in richmond during the thursday morning commute. the c.h.p. cruiser was damage when a officer tried to stop the car with a maneuver that famed. >> we tried to get the individual before he crashed but sometimes it doesn't happen like that. >> the officers say the suspect, a wanted paroleee, was armed with a gun. >> we were coming to see if

anything was salvageable. >> it was stolen from a drive in walnut creek, kirk johnson, who just retired from c.h.p. >> we have had the car throughout the family, my younger son had knit los angeles, and we recovered it and we were going to donate it. >> the suspect suffered minor injuries and faces multiple charges. he was spotted driving the stolen car solo in a car pool lane. a man driving a stolen u-haul made this big mess in oakland after 5:00 this morning and that pickup smashed into three cars at 4th avenue and 30th across the street from highland hospital. it sheared a out -- utility pole. >> vehicle was going 90 miles

per hour. too fast, and overcorrected and struck the sidewalk, hits the three cars. he wanted to get away and someone helped him down but his legs were like noodles and he had to sit on that chair and they took him to the hospital. >> we don't have any word on his condition. police say they smelled alcohol on his breath when they arrived at the seen. bart has launch an investigation in the weighing of a new video circulating online. police officers using taser on a man in front of other passengers. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is at bart headquarters in oakland. >> video is getting criticism. the miss chief understands why people feel uncomfortable watching the video why they are asking questions about a man being tasered. police work not always pretty. on the video, you can hear the bart officer tell a man several times to get off the train. he refused.

a couple of passengers say the man was drunk but they question what he deserved this: to be tazed. it didn'tent there. 2 1/2 minutes later the man is on the ground surrounded by police and he is tazed again. a woman who was on train blogged about the incident calling the tasering "excessive and unnecessary." she said she was talking to the man and did not feel threatened by him. >> based on the video i saw the officer was patient the. >> the police chief saw the posting is called for an internal investigation. he will not say if he agrees with the actions until the investigation is complete. he did say the man should done what the officer said. >> if my years of experience when someone asks the way this individual did, there is something else going on and it turns out he has a felony

comments. please go to our facebook and let us know what you think. oakland police are questioning a "person of interest" in an amber alert that turned out to false alarm. officers were seeking the man if a surveillance video believed to have been shoplifting on tuesday before carjacking and kidnapping a man and a 13-year-old girl in the packing lot. witnesses identified this man as 54-year-old roy mccamey. police called off the amber alert when they learned the girl is an adult and the three people knew each other. mccamey was found outside oakland last night with a history of burglaries. police are vetting a -- investigating a shooting that left one dead and three injured at 37th and international boulevard before 10:00 p.m. when two men and two women were shot. police have not released the condition of the three victims. >> two are hurt after a four

break out in the apartment building near san francisco state university. the fire started just before 12:30 on one of the apartment towers. firefighters evacuated 200 people as a precaution. they declared the fire under control 30 minutes after it started. >> there is a big push to stop what feels like open season on pedestrians in san francisco: four have been hit and killed by vehicles so far this year. today, one group took a public stand and said "enough is enough." katie marzullo has more on vision zero. katy? >> the group has a pedestrian strategy to reduce the number of fatalities but it will take the community on the eve of valentine's day law enforcement and citizens stand shoulder to shoulder representing a traffic fatality in san francisco. some hearts read "survivor," and john was hit in a crosswalk at

will improve over the next hour. where is the rain? live doppler 7 hd is tracking it to our north. throw the clouds up there and you can see how it is moving west to east and the cloud cover will be thicker over the north bay than the south bay. you still have a chance of sprinkles and maybe light rain until the cold front comes in on saturday evening when we will get measurable rain. this came out today, the latest drought watch: the exceptional drought, nothing has change asked not much rain around monterey bay but the extreme drought has a few holes in it as we look at the north bay, in the west slopes that is down to severe drought because of 12" of rain in those areas. if you are headed out from mount tamalpais you can see the cloud cover. at sutro tower and to the south bay, we will talk temperatures: east bay valley is where the sun is, in the low-to-mid 60's, and in los gatos and half moon bay and everyone else in the low-to-mid 50's.
