>> and it is happening in san jose where this veteran san jose firefighters under arrest being held without bail accused of slew of crimes ranging from drug dealing to crimes against children. and it's a story you will see only on abc 7 news. good evening everyone. >> abc 7 news reporter lisa is live from the fire department administration building where lisa the place was raided toda today. >>reporter: very true. undercover agents went in this afternoon and took mario in custody. firefighters has been working here for the past several months. most recently as a community outreach office officer. undercover agents from the santa clara county specialize enforcement task force swooped in this afternoo afternoon. to take long time firefighters mario quest into custody. the 53-year-old is accused of selling meth to high

school students. sources tell me quest will be charged with committing sexual acts with children. >> as a father there is young people involved. it's very disturbing and very concerning. >>reporter: san jose fire union president admits he is shocked by the allegations. he's known quest for years. but the task force which includes the department of justice has been investigating quest for months. d oj spokesperson tells me a tip led them to quest who later allegedly sold drugs to undercover agents. today they seized checked his work computer while quest was taken away to san jose police headquarters for questioning. >> we are held to hire standard and at any time there's any kind of news that may violate the public trust or anything like that is correct i think it's a cause for pause and it's really disturbing to all of us. >>reporter: investigators don't think any of the illegal

activity happened on company time but they do think quest used his position as firefighters to gain the children trust. fire department spokesperson released this statement late tonight saying quote we are surprised this event has happen. we are not jumping to conclusions and we are not prosecuting him. this is an ongoing investigation. until 6 months ago quest worked at station 1 downtown but was hurt and shifted to a new administrative position. >> i just learned short time agatha quest swas towsed to have attended work event tonight. as community outreach officer he works with church groups. neighborhood associations. and schools. live in san jose, abc 7 news. >> thank you lisa. >> if you take bart you might have been exposed to the measles vl thousands of riders may at risk after infected uc berkeley student rode to the and from class for days. allen live on the cal campus with the

story. health officials are trying to spread the word. >>reporter: yes. so far no one else has come down with the measles but just in case uc berkeley health officials stocked up on 300 doses of the measles vaccine. the student who contracted the virus thought he had a simple cold but yesterday the lab results were confirmed. there's no telling how many people have been exposed to a uc berkeley student infected with the measles. >> measles very serious viral illness and very contagious. >>reporter: people on the campus here and the bart train were exposed to the air borne virus between february fourth and the seventh. >> after 1 to 2 hours after the individual has left the air space other people can be exposed. >>reporter: the student who contracted measles while traveling in asia was not immunized during most contagious period he tack the bart train between downtown berkeley and the el cerrito del north station. the other thing

mateo county had another flu fatality bringing total number of death in that county to 6 and bay area total to 46 so far this season. bart officials defending an officer caught on video using a taser on man who appeared drunk and was combative. this is cell phone video of bart officer tazing 43-year-old robert as bury open the millbrae station on january 29. later with 3 officers standing over him the bart officer tazes as bury again. bart police chief rainy told us that he believes his officer acted within department policy. >> when he didn't comply he tried to physically have the suspect stand up and he move from the train. suspect spun around faced him and what we call a pre-assault stand and behavior and that's when the officer drew his tazer. >>reporter: as is routine in

any consist of force the department independent police auditor will investigate. >> oakland man could spend the next 8 years in state prison after jury found him guilty of a violent robbery that happened during last year gay pride weekend. you may remember the incident surveillance camera captured 23-year-old christopher porter bailey robbing a woman then kicking her in the face near market and boyd street in san francisco. he was found guilty of felony assault robbery battery. >> federal appeals court struck down california concealed weapons rule. ninth circuit court of appeals said that california law requiring applicant to show good cause positive obtain concealed weapon permit violates the second amendment. court ruled that law abiding citizens are entitled to carry concealed weapons outside the home for self-defense. if the case is appealed it could go to the supreme court. >> protestors shouted at president nopolitano. >> shame on you shame on you.
