say they knew the man who was killed. they say he is homeless and stores his backpack along the muni platform here. multiple team told us the man did not commit suicide but was trying to get to this back pac and was hit by a vehicle. paramedics arrived but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. this all has created a confusing situation for muni riders, special since martial is so congested right now because the chinese new year parade is about to start. >> we're trying to get to castro, and we don't know how to get there because we're not familiar with the area. >> did they tell you? >> she complained these complicated things and i just wanted a direct answer. >> light rail cars are not running between mont come and i van ness station. passengers are being told to use buses.

coachella valley, and san jose, little light rain. the highest percentage in the higher elevations and builder creek reporting rain. those heading out tonight for the chinese new year parade, take the umbrella. make sure you remain dry because it does look like the rain will be developing as you are there, and temperatures, though, will remain mild in the mid-to upper 50s along the parade route. we'll talk about just how long this will be with us the a bit. thank you very much. breaking news out of florida where a mistrial has just been declared on a murder charge after an argument over loud musician. jurors found 47-year-old michael dunn guilty on four other counts, including attempted murder in the shooting outside a jacksonville gas station in 2012. dunn was charged with fatalry shooting 17-year-old jordan davis of georgia. the teen was in a parked car with three friends. dunn claimed he acted in

self-defense. he testified he fired after davis flashed a shot gun at him. police never found a shotgun in the teen's car. >> details on a massive beef recall linked to a petaluma slaughterhouse. nick smith talked to some grocery owners, now on a growing list of stores which may have received the bad meat. >> very frustrating. >> randy ericson is the meat manager at the market. one of almost 100 identified stores as having possibly received bad beef from petaluma based rancho feeding corporation. >> the beef council contact us the first thing. we get an e-mail or fax. >> the usda says the rancho feeding corporation has processed diseased and unhealthy animals without a full federal inspection. >> the market was listed because of one special order of ox tails by a customer, an order randy says was purchased months ago. >> we contacted the mump. she was very cooperative, and

she -- they contacted her and they dealt with it. >> last week rancho feeding announced is was recalling more than eight million pounds of meat carcasses. the usda has not said what the investigators found or what they alleged the company did, it's random. >> rancho says all of the bad beef is out of stores. but randy continues to get phone calls from customers concerned about what they're putting on the table. >> city of healsburg is trying to provide water during the drought. the city council voted yesterday to make treated wastewater available immediately for grape growers and ranchers. chittics claim the reclaimed water could contaminate groundwater. >> huge crowds are lining the secretes of san francisco for

the chinese new year parade. here's a look at the parade route. west on market street, to geary, down post, and to chinatown at 8:30 tonight. taking a live look at the crowds. marching bands, floats, lion dancers, and the golden dragon are among more than 100 entrants in the procession to celebrate the year of the horse. this is the largest parade of its kind outside of asia, and it's been taking place in san francisco for more than 150 years. saturday, 5:15 p.m. the chinese new year parade will start from second and market streets, traveling west on market street, west on geary, north on powell, east on post, and north on tierney street to columbus avenue.

two people escaped unharmed when fire broke out in an attic space in san francisco this morning. firefighters got the call to a three story home around 9:30 a.m. three engines responded. firefighters quickly determined the smoke where fire was accidental but they're still trying to pinpoint the exact cause. firefighters say the damage is minimal and average is safe. >> hayward police believe three stabbings in the city may be connected. officers responded to a fight just before 12:30 this morning. in this parking lot behind buffalo bill's brewery they found a man stabbed to death. investigators believe two other stabbing victims tried to drive away from the scene but crashed their car. they showed up at the hospital. their conditions have not yet been released. >> president obama is spending the weekend in california. we'll tell you what he is up to. >> plus, how a bus driver sprang into action and stopped an out of control bus on a destructive

there is a batch of rain on 101, just south of roanoke park there. and it is heading towards the petaluma area. also picking up radar returns in the east bay from livermore, fremont, hayward, san jose, even half moon bay, and santa cruz. this stuff bill we rotating in overnight. we'll take you to the mountains and south lake tahoe has been reporting light rain today. and here's a fun fact for you. reno today, record high of 71 degrees. you see incline village, it's coming down in the form of snow above 8,000 feet, and looks like for the continuation of this holiday weekend, they'll look for a lot of snow in the high country. here's my view from our rooftop cam. san francisco, 55. 61 in san jose. a muggy day today.

here's that mt. tam look at the higher elevations seeing the mist and drizzle. petaluma, 57. san jose, bright skies there although the dark clouds will rotate in. north to south overnight. look for sunshine. this is going to be a fast mover so look for brightening skies for sunday afternoon, and the holiday monday looks dry. here's a look at the pacific satellite. you can clearly see the cold front very close to the bay area and will move from north to south overnight. 5:00 tonight, pretty much right on with most of the rain in the north bay, and then as we head to 8:00, starts to fill in toward the golden gate bridge, 10:00, much of the bay area seeing the shower activity. 1:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, more of an east and south bay area, and then by 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning you can see the clouds and patchy dense fog tomorrow morning, otherwise get ready for
