live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. a major california highway is shut down. there was an accident that kills to c.h.p. officers. thanks for joining us. >> the investigation is underway into the deadly collision. the officers' car crash on highway 99 south of fresno. eric thomas has the latest the newsroom. >> highway 99 is closed while a c.h.p. crash investigation team is looking for clues this minute. here is what we know: the highway patrol got a report of

an accident on northbound 99 at 6:00 this morning. a patrol car with two officers sped to the scene. according to a highway patrol captain the accident was actually in the southbound lanes. the same lanes the officer were responding in with lights and siren. it is possible the officers were trying to avoid the accident and one of the drivers who was out of the car and walking on the highway. >> our vehicle lost control, slided into the guardrail, and we actually have 99 southbound closed right new trying to determine what is actually the situation. >> c.h.p. officials are headed to notify the next of kin of the deadly accident. again, southbound 99 is still shut down and reason will not re-open until 1:00 o'clock p.m. at the usualliest. the highway patrol mounts two of its own. thank you, eric.

developing news, fair hill police need help catching the killer of a 16-year-old girl over the weekend of the the body of naomy rojas was found shot to death. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield joins from fairfield. >> police are in this morning. they are working on this holiday. time is important when you are looking if a killer. we saw an officer drive by the scene this morning. they are still actively looking for leads and witnesses. there is a memorial at the site of her death. friends have last candles, balloons, and bottles. she was found next to some railroad tracks behind some apartment complexes. 16-year-old naomy rojas was found shot to delegate at 4:15 on saturday. they do not thing she was alone. officers are working hard on the case but cannot do it without cooperation. >> we believe this were other

people present. we are asking for the people to come forward and provide information. >> has anyone come forward so far? >> i am not at liberty to discuss that. >> police are guarded this morning with their information. we talked to a few in the apartment complex this morning and they are being guarded, too, and many said there is a lot of ban activity in the area but they are too afraid to talk or the girl's dealt on camera police might be releasing more details on the case later this afternoon but the emergency they want to stress right now is they need witnesses to come forward and they want people to know that if they do, they can remain anonymous. reporting in fairfield for abc7 news. >> in san francisco a 19-year-old hospitalized with gunshot wounds is expected to survive. the search is underway for the gunman who fired two shots in front of the westfield mall late

night at 7:00. the victim stumbled to the bart station and collapsed at the bottom of the escalator. the shooting created a lot of chaos around the busy shopping center. police do not know what led up to the shooting. there is no suspect description. they are asking anyone with information to give them a call. >> san jose police are collecting evidence at the scene of a fatal hit-and-run. a man was run over by a car yesterday afternoon. the police say there was an argument between two groups at the cap 258 flee man it and it turned into a fight on street. they believe the pedestrian may have been stabbed before he died. two other men involved in the fight turned up with non-life threatening injuries. the hit-and-run driver is still loss. >> a march is held today to demand release of findings in the shooting, death of a teenage the 13-year-old was killed by a deputy in october.

it looked like he was carrying an assault rifle but it was a pb gun. the district attorney says the reports never released to public while under review for possible criminal charges. >> new this morning, the co-pilot of an ethiopian airlines jet is under arrest in switzerland after hijacking his plane. he flew with 200 passengers and crew members on board. the plane was headed for rome, italy, from ethiopia, and after several tense hours the plane landed safely in geneva. you can see the passengers exiting and necessity have their hands over their heads. no one was hurt. swiss authorities say the hijacker locked the pilot out of the cockpit and the pilot went to the bathroom, the co-pilot said he felt threatened in his home count and demand asylum. if convicted he could face 20 years in proigns. officials say asylum at this point is not likely. we have new details in the shocking murder of a millionaire

tech investor inside his silicon valley home. he was killed in november of 2012 in an apparent home invasion robbery at his mansion^. our media partner reports that one of those charges believed he had stolen $30,000 from him and that may have been the motive. a prostitute and two others are charged in his desk and are being held without desk. >> the golden gate bridge district is looking at a bonanza in revenue that is unexpected coming from fines from drivers who don't pay on time. this is a picture of the golden gate bridge and it has an all electronic toll system which means motorists have to have a fast track transponder or they get a bill in the mill and have to remember to pay it on time. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard has the story. >> is the golden gate bridge getting rich off will toll violators? 60,000 cars pass through each day. thousand without fast track get

a bill. some do not pay. that means potential windfall of millions for the cash strapped district. the toll taking has been on duty at the golden gate bridge for almost a year. some drivers still long for the old days when real toll takers took your cash. >> we like to see people have jobs and be able to pay your toll right there and cash so you don't have to worry about something coming in the mail. a lot of people do not pay the tolls at $6 which can add up if you ignore it. it is $25 fine if you do nut pay within 30 days and $70's after 60 days. for the first four months of operation, more than 290 violations were issued and 118 were paid but 144,000 are outstanding so there could be a windfall of $10 million. but a spokesman says, not so. >> many violations are going to

something on this day. i wanted to show you some things because it has been a holiday weekend and you may have travelers in your family or your business. chicago has three hour and 30 minute flight delays at o'hare because of the snow that is falling there. at home, the storm track is to the north and you see the scattered green or radar returns and at home we have fog this morning that didn't last very long when the high clouds came on. if you slept through it you can go to mike nicco with color pictures on twitter. visibility is unlimited. even with the high clouds. this is how it looks from emeryville with high clouds reflecting the bay area this morning. temperatures are running a little bit cooler than this time yesterday but we started at 10 or 15 degrees cooler and are slowly cashing up. most of us are in the mid-to-upper 50's and we have 60 at antioch and only 52 in novato. if you are headed to oakland and san francisco, it is 56 and

concord is 54. >> san jose right now shows they are working down there and they were working but for the holiday, and high clouds are over your city with the rest of us and seasonal temperatures today. at best, hope for a little bit of light rain with some measurable drizzle tuesday night into wednesday morning and that is the only chance of rain in the seven-day forecast. temperatures going to be warmer-than-average for most of the weekend. today, we are close to normal, upper 50's along the coast and 60 at san francisco, and low-to-mid 60's the rest of our bay area neighborhoods and inland neighbors the tonight you can see fog out there and i think it will be more remote than this morning and 39 in san to rose and most of us in the low-to-mid 40's but richmond and san francisco at 47 degrees. here is what is happening: two areas of high pressure pushing the storm to the north and we are getting high clouds which is it. notice to the west, that is the light rainmaker.

there is not a lot of cloud cover with it. the moisture to the south is not a large bit of tropical moisture that will come in. it is not connected in anyway. so here we go tuesday morning: clouds. tuesday afternoon, clouds and midnight, light rain trying to move into cloverdale and it falls apart as it moves through the bay area which is good for the morning commute because that is when it is coming through. by wednesday afternoon we have sunshine but the coolest temperature are a couple of degrees cooler than today and tomorrow. thursday we rebound, and you can see friday, saturday, and sunday, a whom lot of sunshine and upper 60's to low 70's and the coast is in the low-to-mid 60's. we have pretty nice weather if you are traveling about or enjoying the holiday and the small bump in the road. >> we have results now to bring you from the winter olympics in sochi. in the ice dancing, if you don't want to know just yet, look away, now, until you hear the
