minutes ago and you can see how far back the head lits are extending so, very heavy traffic at this hour. kristen and eric? >> we are continuing to following breaking news from san lorenzo where a man is dead after a confrontation with sheriff deputies inside his home. amy hollyfield? >> yes, the sheriff deputies say they were attacked by a baseball bat. the appeals -- paramedics were called to the home last might and they put the man in the ambulance he became combative so they called the sheriff for help. he then ran into his home. officers went into the home to check on him and they were told he needed medical attention and they say that is when an officer was hit by a baseball bat. that is why they shot him. officers are familiar with the home. >> we have a long history here

we will look at the numbers. the biggest ups is for the f line, the streetcars. right now it costs $2. the proposal triples that to $6 a ride. if a single ride using cab, that is $2 trip but it goes up 25 cents to $2.25 and the "a" pass goes up two dollars. the increases mean millions in new revenue for muni. the $fare on the f line means almost $5 million additional dollars. a ride are said muni should work on its service first. >> i am not a big fan of the operation of the muni. it seems to be inefficient. maybe they could work on that rather than raising fares because it hurts the people that can afford it least. >> there are propose as that would save people money. muni is caring dropping a $3

amy hollyfield has what led the deputy to open fire. amy? >> we have been told that the man who was shot and killeds was 60. the sheriff deputies have released this picture. this is the when they say the man used to attack the sheriff deputies lying on his living room floor. officers say he -- one officer was hit if the room and that broke the rifle so the officer pulled the handgun, and two officers fired at the man. this started as a paramedic called after coming to the home for a medical emergency and the man became combative inside the ambulance and they called the sheriff for help. the man ran back inside his home. deputies say they went inside the home to check on him. >> you can imagine this is always a difficult situation for law enforcement going into someone's house, you are not familiar with the house and that

person is. that is the situation that was presented last night. he comes out and violently attacks the sergeant hitting him with a baseball bat and attempting to hit him again. shots were fired at that point. >> fors have been to this home 19 times since 2011 for a variety of calls including domestic violence and intoxication calls. the man's wife was here last night when the shooting happened and she is being interviewed now. the officers who were involved are okay. they begin the investigation now. they do think they will be here a while and they say expect these streets to be blocked off throughout the morning. new this morning, park police want to find two people who disappeared after leading officers on a wild chase across the golden gate bridge. the suspects be thatted into

another car in the southbound lane near the bay bridge toll plaza and bailed out and took off running. it started when a park ranger saw a man breaking into a car in the marin headlands. the driver hit two park service vehicles before driving across the bridge. officers focused their search long lincoln boulevard in the presidio. >> c.h.p. officers across the state are wearing black bands in honor of the two of their own killed in the line of duty. officer brian law and officer juan gonzalez die when their car flipped over responding to an accident. they both started their years in the bay area before transferring to the central valley. officer gonzalez was assigned to san jose before transferring to fresno in may of 2010. >> he was a great officer. i remember he always came to work with a mile and happy to be here can dot -- do the job.

officers spotted the vehicle parked near highway one at moss landing and the license plate did not match the vehicle. the 40-year-old eric richard december was inside. police were looking for the registration and found five homemade pipe bombs. he is a registered sex offender who has been arrested several times. >> no classes at a east bay high school because of a gas rupture. crews did not have all the parts available yesterday to do the repairs so the work is con -- going to be completed today. a contractor repairing the gas line accidentally ruptured the pipe. >> happening today, hundreds in san francisco affected by rising rents and evictions rallied at the state capital which allows landlords to kick out ten ans if they are taking the building off of the rental market. demonstrators showing support if a senate bill that would help
