>> good afternoon, i'm dan ashley we begin with a fatal shooting by san jose state university police just off campus. >> abc7 news reporter vic lee is live with the latest on this. vic? >> the street is blocked off and it's been like this all day. we've seen officers going door to door to locate witnesses. again this, shooting happened just a block away from the dorms to, my right. first call to police came in at 11:00 in the morning. man with a knife, on campus. police went looking for him and say they found a person

wielding a large knife near corner of 8th street. public information officer told reporters the officers tried to get him to drop the weapons >> one officer from university police department discharged his taser. but that had no affect. what happened is that second officer on the scene used his firearm in defense of his life, his partner's life. >> this teenager was with a friend and heard two shots >> we're just talking about, like, school and stuff, then, like, we heard like, bang, bang, iing was like, what was that? she was like never mind, someone upstairs. >> a neighbor says her friend witnessed the shooting. >> he got up and proceeded to leave the police officer gave no command to stop or anything. and then, they shot him. twice. >> the suspect die from theed

injuries. officer morales says they're trying to find out who he is, and if he was a student. a san jose man says he acted in self-defense when fatally shot someone outside of his house last night. he says a would be intruder shot into his house. he says he shot back. >> after further investigation they determined that the subject at the hospital was related to the incident here on pineridge way. now that person was pronounced deceased at the scene. >> police say a second man was wounded but is expected to survive and say there is evidence someone fired on the house. >> another driver is now reporting his car was hit by a water bottle this week. the report comes from a fed-ex driver and brings the number of incidents under investigation to
