as expected on a sunday, not very busy at the concord station. this weekend, while train service was stopped through here, north concord, and pittsburg, some passengers said they drove to the first operational station they could get to. pleasant hill. b.a.r.t. set up a network of buses to shuttle passengers. passengers say they are relieved to catch the trains where they normally do, and b.a.r.t. officials thanked repair crews for their wick -- quick work. >> i was happy. i could ask for a ride to sfo, but staying at my cousin's and flying out in the morning. >> some things we did were replacing sections of track, cutting it out and replacing it with another 39-foot section of track. this is done on a regular basis while people are sleeping as part of our normal maintenance repair process. so the fact that they had a big job to do was a challenge for our track and maintenance crews,

but not anything they haven't tackled before, and they worked around the clock to get it done. reporter: an out of service b.a.r.t. train went off the track south of the concord station friday night. only the train operator was aboard and he didn't suffer any injuries. crews had to lift the dammed train cars off the rails and then spend more than a day fixing a section of the track. authorities say they're still investigating exactly why the train went off the rails. another train went off the rails at nearly the exact spot several years ago. >> let's look at the skies over san francisco bay. the exploratorium cam shows no real clouds. it's going to change. meteorologist leigh glaser is on the roof with a look at live doppler 7hd. >> definitely going to change, and also sooner than we anticipated. let's show you the live doppler 7hd. you can see just a little bit of

fog creeping in near the coast. the golden gate bridge right now reporting ruized viz -- reduced visibility. you can see the clear sky over the bay area, and as we stretch out over the pacific, there are two storms, one, two, off the coast, and that's exactly what is going to move in here as we head into our mid-week forecast. in fact, wednesday, first system will move in, bringing us wind and rain, and then we gate break on thursday and then the system that moves in friday will be much stronger. we're anticipating very heavy rainfall, with the secondary system that moves in on friday and some strong winds. in fact, coming up in a little bit, we'll look at a risk index for the two storms, and also let you know just how much rain you can anticipate. very good news in terms of the rainfall coming to the bay area once again this week. >> to track the storm, follow

live -- twitter, and get weather tweets. >> oakland police credit an alert system with helping find two people wanted in connection with a shooting earlier today. the shooting took place on telegraph avenue near 45th 45th street this morning. one man was shot. he is expected to survive. a citizen spotted a car linked to the shooting and alerted police. officers arrested a man and woman believed to have taken part in the shooting. >> relatives of a san lorenzo man killed by sheriffs deputies met with the media. they said the media portrayal of their father as a thug couldn't be more wrong. 60 year david goens was killed after authorities broke down his door. family members say he needed medical attention and deputies, who had been to the home 19 times in three years, should have known that.

>> thousands will honor two fallen highway patrol officers during a memorial service in fresno tomorrow morning. officers juan gonsalez and brian law died after their patrol car crashed while they responded to an accident last monday. there will be law enforcement officers from across california and beyond. the service will take place in an arena at fresno state university. >> the dalai lama wraps up a three-day visit to the bay area tomorrow. his visit so far has drawn hundreds of supporters and protesters at each stop. cornell bernard is live from san francisco with details. reporter: a event here at the ritz-carlton hotel behind me was the dalai lama's last stop of the day. his largest event was in berkeley where he saw praise and protests. >> sitting in the room, i didn't think i would get that emotional

napa, 59. 54, petaluma. livermore, 67. from the kgo rooftop cam you can see that over the bay bridge now, nice visibility but the fog will be moving inland overnight. here's a look at the forecast highlights. areas of dense fog overnight. mostly sunny for your monday, and then get ready for the big changes getting into the rain and wind scenario wednesday and friday, actually two storm systems that will affect the bay area. lows tonight, chilly in the north bay, upper 30s to low 40s, mid-to-upper 40s, and here's the pacific satellite. you can get a sense high pressure will protect the bay area for the next couple of days. so expect sunshine, increasing high clouds for monday, and then there are the two storms, back-to-back, rain and wind, wednesday and friday, and the one on friday seems to be the stronger of the two. the first system moves in on wednesday. we get a break right now, looks
