>> bart is back on track after a weekend derailment but commuters are still noticing a difference during their commute. >> good morning, and thanks for joining us. >> we will start with break news a bay area firefighter killed while off duty. amy hollyfield has new information on the story. the chief in berkeley said he worked at berkeley fire department station 7 and he has worked here two 28 years. look what happened last night: emergency responders stood at attention when the body of the firefighter was moved from the accident scene. investigators say nunez was on a tractor in lafayette and he may have gotten too close to the edge, flipped and fell 150 neat.

derailment had repair crews working through the weekend. trains through concord and beyond starting running again yesterday. crews spent the weekend making repairing after an empty train jumped the tracks on friday evening. one passenger who took the train yesterday said it made a slower than usual run through the newly repaired section of track. >> they let everyone know on the train that it would be slower, we apologize, but it was an uneasy feeling on the trains. bart has to repair the switch where it took place. the cause is "under investigation." >> dalai lama wrapped up the visit to the bay area this evening with a talk at santa clara university taking time yesterday to recognize a lafayette man as an unsung hero of compassion. he was one of 51 recipients of the award recognized for organization "trust in education." it helps people in afghanistan.
